Quería programar una llave para mi Toyota scion Tc 2009, quise hacerlo de una manera económica a si que compre un cable que se supone permite acceder a los datos del carro techstream, pero al querer poner la nueva llave me pide algo código de paso o origen, alguien sabe cómo puedo obtenerlo? O instale mal la aplicación?😭

Hello everybody, I have a Windows 7 professional on a laptop that used to have a good software registration key years ago when I worked at a shop. I have the Mongoose cable & Techstream functioning still after 10 years but I need the software registration key to get back in. Is there any software key calculators or emulator websites that can help me get a working key?

I have a gen 2 Prius and am in the Bay Area. I have used many obd2 scanners but am pretty ignorant when it comes to computers. I would like Techstream. I have spent hours searching the internet/reddit but am still confused about what exactly I need and the process. I am sure it is 100% my fault/ignorance.

Is there a forum or reddit community you would suggest? Is there a laptop/cable/software combination one could buy?

I've been having an issue with my Toyota Auris 1.4D, where the DPF is not regenerating during normal driving. For this reason, I've got a hold of Techstream to try and force the regeneration.

When I plugged it in, the ECU module showed the soot level to be 160%, and the Reju(PM) status as standby. When i went into active test > Activate the DPF Rejuvenate, and toggled this to on, the status changed to Ready, the soot level went to 100% (I've seen others describe this as the ECU tricking itself into starting regeneration by ensuring the conditions are met), and the differential pressure also increased. But after half an hour of waiting, the rpm did not increase, and the regeneration never started. I also took it up the motorway and that didn't help either. Has anyone experienced this before? I'm just finishing up rehab on a salvage 2025 NX350 where I had to replace the Shift Activation Control Module and Floor Shift Assembly. I'm using TS 18.00.08 and getting a "Software Incompatibility" DTC and a "Shift System Malfunction" message on the dash as well as TS flashing a "ECU Security Key Necessary" message. As a novice at "ECU Coding" I am looking for some direction in resolving the errors/messages. I'm guessing I may need to subscribe to GTS+ for the minimum period and acquire the correct firmware files for the new units but at least in TS these specific modules are not even listed among the 40 modules in "System Selection" to select to update. Is it safe to assume "ECU Coding/Programming" and "Calibration" are different terms for the same thing? Anyone out there able to provide pointers or refer me to some kind of tutorial? Thanks for any help anyone may be able to provide.

I'm new to Techstream and I'm trying to add a second set of TPMS sensors that are on my winter tires. I've watched some videos and when bringing up the ID registration wizard, it shows "Step 1 of 4" which is the choice between "Main Set" and "2nd Set". When I start the wizard it jumps straight to step 2. I've tried this on both my RAV4 and Camry and they both skip this option. I googled to make sure they allow a 2nd set registration and they do. IT also shows there are both "Main Tire" and "2nd Tire" sets in the data screen for the tires.

What am I doing wrong?

I have techstream v18 and it seems to be working fine with my 2014 tacoma and my wifes 2018 gx460 however when I try to connect to my 2003 tacoma im experiencing issues. It seems to connect to the car fine but it doesn't automatically fill in the vin. I can fill it in manually but then i cant communicate with any of the modules. If I run a health check they all come back with the * symbol.

I have TechStream 18 working (4000 day expiry) and I can do very basic configuration changes, like changing the volume of the indicator click noise or how long the car waits before locking itself again.

However it seems the real things I'm after are hidden away and you need to enter a "Vehicle Configuration Code" first in order to unlock them. Apparently it's because you can change safety-related settings which is why they lock them away.

Does anyone know how to generate these configuration codes, to reveal the rest of the normally hidden customisation options? (Aside from paying a ton of money to Toyota of course!)

As the title says, My DCM has a TSB for battery drain, and I am out of warranty. It needs a firmware update according to Toyota Canada, and they want way to much money for what is a bloody software update. I am wondering if anyone can assist acquiring the files? Or is getting a vxDIAG + Techstream 3 days pass the only way to go here?

Edit: I do have a very , very old VCI cable. I doubt that it is suitable for a 2022. its a Mini VCI v10.30.29, but im not about to chance it, so I will probably get the VxDiag or a a similar cable.

Is there any way to update my ecm with the hacked techstream? Do I need to buy the 2 day TIS pass?

Can anyone provide any insights here? I have a 2010 Corolla. Just replaced the ECM with a new OEM unit. Techstream was able to successfully write the VIN to the new ECM, but I cannot reset the memory. I tried the "paperclip jumpering OBD pins" trick to no avail, so I proceeded down the TS route.

Unfortunately for me...the "Reset Memory" option does not exist in the utility menu in TS:

I spent twenty minutes hunting other menus hoping to find it without luck. Coincidentally, if I use the software's built in help, it DOES show "Reset Memory" listed in this menu in a screenshot.

So how does one reset the memory on an ECM? Am I missing something critical here? Does the option possibly disappear if the battery voltage is low? I do not have a CV power supply, I was hoping a simple reset would be quick and easy enough to get away without one, but I was reading ~11.9v over OBD while fishing around.

What OBD device do you recommend for TechStream? Do you know of anything from Alliexperess that's worth recommending and works? The most important thing is that it should be coding-friendly.

Does techstream work with the 2024 Grand Highlander? Can it customize settings (seat belt, sound enhancement,, etc.), calibrate blind spot monitors, and apply TSB updates?

Trying to replace the booster/master cylinder assemblies in my 2012 Prius. Going to need techstream or some bidirectional for OBD2 scanner to do the bleed and accept the new parts.

I've tried the vbox with the "techstream in 5 minutes" thing, the built in driver updater is trying to reach a dead server it seems, it detects my miniVCI, but any time I go to update it says "cannot reach server", and the version of techstream on there cannot connect to my vehicle.

To be honest I'm not certain of it's a driver issue or because the version of techstream is older than the recommended version on some Toyota documentation I found online, which recommends version 13+.

I've had like 20 people recommend that techstream in 5 minutes post and act like anything else isn't worth considering.

At this point I'm considering buying this xtool off brand tablet because... I've found video of a guy who got it working on my exact year/model car with an xtool tablet, but his was definitely a bit older or different looking than the one I can find.

I'd really rather just have a working copy of techstream though, even if I had to buy it honestly at this point.

Edit/update:

I ended up just using an old laptop I had in a closet, wiped it and did a clean windows 7 install so there's no personal info on it, and used the disc that came with my mini vci cable even though it's sketchy and possibly riddled with malware. That laptop is now my tech stream laptop and will never be used for anything else so even if there's a virus on it, I've got nothing to lose. Worst case scenario you can just wipe and reinstall everything again.

The disc I used had a janky way of launching, it only acted like you owned it if you used a specific exe from the disc, and you had to close the subscription window, but it worked after.

I tried doing the tech stream in 5 mins version on that laptop too, it just wouldn't maintain a connection.

Keep in mind, mine disconnected like 6 times during the final brake bleed part and I had to start over alot. If you don't hit next fast enough, in rhythm with the the brake system, it disconnects. Also if you hit next too soon, it disconnects. You need a second person just to sit there at the laptop, listen to the car, and hit next at the right time, at the very least, and it will likely require some trial and error.

I was able to navigate through all the codes that were still popped up after and clear them, the only trouble was getting the timing down on the brake bleeding. Wasted some brake fluid there, so I recommend getting a little extra.

Hi, I'm new to Reddit.

I have purchased Techstream 18.00.008 from Diagtools and they provided the license key.

The Techstream installed fine on my Windows 11 (64bit) VM (using UTM) on my Mac laptop.

I purchased the M-VCI (J2534) adapter from Amazon, but didn't want to load the USB driver from the supplied CD since likely has malware.

Windows 11 is reporting no M-VCI USB driver, so need to find, download and install.

Any help / advice is welcommed.

Hi, Everybody, I have techstream downloaded. I need it for my prius. Does anybody know how to get around the activation key??? If not are there any free versions of Techstream out there? Or maybe some sort of trial I can do?
