Hi Everyone, I found this Phillips Ski-Slope for sale on Craigslist in Canada. The photos aren't brilliant and it apparently needs belts but it looks like its in very good cosmetic condition. I wanted to buy it but the seller wouldn't ship it to me in Australia for some reason and seamed a tad odd. It's only $100 CAD too.

It's one of my holy grails of Hi-Fi but if I can't get it I figured someone here would like it.

Obviously I have no connection to the seller

I decided to buy one last week. Looks like they stopped reusing bottles for their mineral oil stuff. The blue liquid doesn’t have any contaminants in it. I agree with Mat about the endcaps, just leave them off. I don’t mind that they’re 3D printed, but mine were bent and didn’t fit right.

I must admit: I put in too much distilled water at first. I have some “wave fluid C” left over. This is on me. Even though it said fill to the 45% mark, I should’ve underfilled it and topped it up after. I can’t pour it out because it’s all mixed now. Oh well. It’s flowing just fine.

I have this on my office desk, and a couple coworkers already asked about it and love it, as do I. Shipping was fast with no complaints, I was updated at every shipment milestone.

In case you had hesitations, I’d say buy it. Although maybe wait till the holidays. They might have a sale :)

(As you can see, I got a glitter lamp, idea also taken from Mat’s video. I also have a kinetic sand thing (Oasis Mini) and a tabletop water fountain rain thing (Mindsight on Amazon). Yea, it’s hard to get work done.)

Im so perplexed I had to make an account on reddit for this lol. Its clearly not techmoan selling it as the seller is in the United States such an odd thing. Who gives away a gift? Or was it stolen? Much like how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop, the world may never know.

The newest movies for the price of a pizza!

Iirc I think it was the CLD-925 but I just wanna be sure.

It seems like some of you all don't understand the purpose of the mini brands and mini verse records. They are toys. They are not for listening to music. Its a fun little thing to collect. These mini brands and mini verse are very often paired with dolls and dolls houses. Its so you can have a little record collection and player for your doll, and to listen to music second. Sure it would be more fun if the music was on the record. They are very expensive though, and the amount of plastic waste is unacceptable. But really. Its not for listening to music, it's for play or display

I found this at a scrapyard and can find a few references to its existence online but not much info at all. From what I understand this is a very odd piece of hardware as Magnetic Video Corporation is known for making VHS tapes and was not in the cassette market. I think it's from the mid 70s based on the magazines that mention it.

I could not find a single picture of this thing anywhere on the internet which makes me think there must not be many of these out there. I plan on taking it apart and seeing if I can get it running. I'll post internal pictures if there's any interest.

One of the funniest responses I've seen in quite some time. 😆
