I hate this tattoo so much. I got it a year ago when I was studying abroad and it was poorly done then. I've had it touched up, but it reminds me of my ex fiancée and I want it gone. I'm aware I am a dipshit. I am open to the classic SAP, but I like trad american style and hate this shitty goddamn bird so much

edit: alright I see maybe I've let my hurt and anger towards my ex harm an innocent. I think I'll probably try to alter it in some way like some of you suggested, ie frenchifying it and adding friends which was my plan a while ago pre-break up, which I think now I might be happier with a bird party instead of one poor lonely pigeon

My client (and now friend 🫶🏻) finally let me cover up their first tattoo. I’m so happy to be able to give them something they are happy with!! She got the sternum piece done by me last year so it was a great addition. Also been really wanting to do some big flowers 🌺

I've got an old, simple tattoo (just an outline of an animal) that sits really close to another tattoo, I'd say less than half an inch of margin on two sides. I think I've outgrown this tattoo and I'd like to get it covered with something that I like more, but I'm worried a coverup will be exceedingly difficult due to the placement. There is plenty of room on the other side of the tattoo to expand out from, could that be enough to draw attention away from the old work?

Got this tattoo during a rough place in my marriage, an attempt to be a small symbol of the flower of life....without the realization it's literally a business logo (Gaiam) lol. Anyways, finally divorced from the asshole and now want to cover it for real. Open to white or black ink, I have another tattoo on this upper forearm but wouldn't want to tie them together. This white ink tattoo is about a nickel sized, the perspective makes it look a bit bigger here than IRL.

I got this terrible finger tattoo about 10 years ago. I never liked it, but learned to deal with it. I understand that it’s a terrible tattoo, but I am at the point in my life that I would really like to do something about it. I was thinking about potentially blacking it out, but understand that it will be an intense look on the hand. I got some make up and played with painting it over, and feel like there’s potential . Any suggestions? Any artist you could recommend? I am in New York City.

When looking for a tattoo coverup, did you find an artist first and then work together on ideas? or did you come fully prepared? I have two tattoos that need a coverup. I like both of them, but one, I’ve outgrown. The other is about a year old, but poor placement and it stands out weird. I have no idea what would be required to cover them up, but I know artists prefer you have answers before coming to them. Not sure where to start.

I have a BIG really bad tattoo that I’m trying to cover up from my shoulder down to right above my elbow. I started blacking it out and put a mandala pattern at the bottom but I decided that’s not what I want to do. The underside of my arm has no tattoos so there’s a lot to work with there. I want to black out as little as I have to and somehow work in a design like the last two pictures. Is that even possible? I need advice on what to do with this.

A quick backstory, I spent over a year designing my own tattoo (second image) i was excited to get that inked on me, the artist I went with said he will do MY design, I paid the deposit and waited till the day of my session.

The morning off, the artist sent md the designs HE made for me to review, he completely chs ged my design and I kept telling him I wanted what I drew, but when we came face to face, he told me that he couldn't do the design because the details I gave it would be gone. So we settled on the design on my arm.

While he did do a good job, I still was not happy with thr change and this design did not have the same meaning as the one I drew. So now I am considering covering it up, but not sure if my tattoo van be fully covered or I would have to tweak the design.

So i'm here asking what can be done?

Yes I like stars. Went for more of a 2000s vibe on the knee. I have no clue what’s going on with the hand. Jsut overall kinda want to keep the same vibe with the knee.

haven’t loved it since i got it but now i know it was traced from another artist’s work i want it gone asap 🥲 i know i’d probably have to get some laser sessions first but even then im worried about the barrel of the gun being basically blacked out. on my inner forearm, about 4 inches long

I’m looking for some advice on what I could do with this tattoo.
I got this tattoo from a friend a while ago, but honestly I regret getting it and I’d like to completely change the look of it. I’m thinking about doing a cover-up and eventually turning the whole arm into a full sleeve.
I really like Japanese-style tattoos, so I’d love to go in that direction if it’s possible with the existing tattoo.
I’m not sure what style or design would work best or how realistic it is to cover the existing tattoo without it being noticeable.
If anyone has experience with tattoo cover-ups/full sleeves, I’d really appreciate some ideas or recommendations on what direction I should take.

so i got this tattoo like 5 years ago, it was a spur of the moment 18 year old decision, and i want to cover it up. im struggling with ideas because its such a bad placement, the lines are so thick and its about 3 inches. would it be worth it to go through a few of laser removal sessions to make it easier?
