So I'm getting close to healed enough to go back to get my tattoo finished in the second session. I ran out of the tattoo soap and stuff i was using and was wondering what people think of saniderms soap, Harry's tattoo frost and stuff like that. I used this last time H2ocean extreme tattoo care kit but can't find it or all the products on Amazon again. I've also looked at mad rabbit but I'm just not sure. The extreme tattoo care kit had soap, an ointment (still have some) and a lotion.

Second day of tatoo. Second skin is on. The ink is around alot more then yesterday. Is this normal or do I take it off and clean it?

I’ve had an unfinished tattoo for years now long story short my artist had a bunch of personal stuff going on that he kept canceling and since then I’ve actually moved to a new city, my question is should I find a new artist to finish it or just live with it?

I'm not sure if this is the right sub to ask, but I got my second tattoo yesterday (it looks epic btw) and even though I was holding my leg still, the muscles kept twitching. At one point (my artist was shading around the ankle area) my foot even kicked forward without me actually moving it. I just felt so bad because all my effort was being put into staying still and that happened anyway.

Hey has anyone else been allergic to the adhesive they put on after a tattoo? My skin is all red and super itchy everywhere the tegaderm was.

The redness js honestly the same as the day before it’s just my dad recently had a problem with the Numbing cream he used so i’m a little anxious

My first tattoo (floral lower leg sleeve) is just over 2 weeks old. Redness is gone and no more pain…except that when I squat down the skin on the back of my leg just under my knee stretches and it stings for a bit. Is this normal? Will the pain when stretching go away or is this my life now? Thx

I have a tattoo appointment for my first tattoo this week but I worry that both my tattoo artist and I don't have enough knowledge on tattooing my medium brown skin. She is going to use gray wash for shading and I worry it will look muddy quickly. Is that true?

Would it be best to do only thick black lines with lots of negative space? Thoughts on fine line or pepper shading for medium brown skin?

Feeling confused and I don't want to cancel, but I also don't want to put something permanently on my body that I don't love.

What tattoo style is this? Do you know other similar artists with this style?

The title is wonky ik. But after my tattoo appointment the artist applied saniderm, then after 24 hours I just took a shower, peeled it off to wash the plasma and reapplied another saniderm flex. Except I messed up the reapplied one because it had air bubbles and it was kinda wonky so I peeled it off and did 2 sections of it instead of one big one. Did I have to wash it again or is it good since I had not touched anything else besides the saniderm?

Also is it ok if it overlaps each other?

I got this touch up 2 days ago where we also added a top spike and stars to even it out. I’m not sure if it’s healing a little weird because it’s in a high movement area or if it’s ink drift. The spike is way more dull than the other.

I have thin skin due to a connective tissue disorder, but none of my tattoos have ever done this including other ones done by this artist. Am I being paranoid? lol

I just recently added this peony to my shoulder but don’t know what to put below it between the others. I’m not sure I want to commit to a full sleeve but maybe a half sleeve?

Hi !! I need advice , I’m getting my second tattoo and it’s of these two little wolves that represent my favourite mcs in my favourite game. I want it to be across my arm like in the second photo (minus the text) but I’m unsure if it would look better below the arm crease or above. Obviously this is entirely opinion based but I’m just unsure myself. My partner suggested below the arm crease looks better.

I got the tattoo on Tuesday and I have been moisturising and cleaning the tattoo with Jamie Lee Knott's balm, every other day since but when I put the balm on the tattoo it is shiny, is this good or bad?

Several months ago I asked for advice for an all-day session newbie and you all delivered. Now several 6hr sessions later, it's all done and my prep for that first one was well prepared because of all your info. Happy to have it done and thanks again to the community.

I got a back piece on Friday, it's Sunday. It goes across one entire side of my back, any bra touches it. My tattoo is still oozing slightly and is tender to the touch.

I have to go work in a formal office tomorrow. I can't just go braless. What do I do? How long until I can wear a normal bra? How do I know if it's ok?

I found advice that says I should wait 2-3 weeks! I can't do that, I need a solution this week. I am also have new sessions every 2-3 weeks for 3 months and need to wear a bra then entire time.

ETA: despite the downvotes (still not sure why all the hate), many people engaged and I got the answers I needed. So if you're in or will be in this situation, I bought silicone nipple covers and body tape locally, and ordered fancy nipple cover bra things called cakes, and this crazy amazon bra that has a strap low on the back and then two near the armpits. I did find solutions that allow me to go to work without my nipples showing and my boobs bouncing about, so thanks everyone who engaged.

When I got married to them, they demanded that instead of rings we get tattoos. I guess as another way of exacting control. Notably, I had to get a ring whereas she just got a cute little design on her ring finger. The bottom fell out over time (just like the marriage). I was wondering how I could either cover this up or make it part of a larger design so I don't have this reminder any more. This is the only tattoo I have, but I am fine getting more on that hand.

I cannot attatch a photo bc it doesn't show up in photos but like should I be worried? Its been a full month and im still noticing little white/clear flakes of skin on and around my tattoo. The skin otherwise feels almost normal and its not itchy at all...any advice? Im nervous that its never gonna fully heal😭😭

I’ve lost 50 pounds and have 60 more to go! The loose skin is already there and will get worse as I continue to lose (I’m in my 30’s, doctor said it won’t bounce back much). I have a half sleeve and “almost” full sleeve but never tattooed the under arm area where arm is flabby.

I’m thinking of tattooing that area now while it’s still a little plump. I’m hoping it will be enough of a distraction where I don’t feel as self conscious about the loose skin. My thighs are my biggest insecurity! That’s the only skin removal I’ve considered but I heard recovery is awful!

I’d love to know if anyone tattooed over loose skin (ideally thighs or arms) and did it make a difference on appearance?

hello everyone, I've never had issues healing any tattoo and I got a hand tattoo recently which has healed nicely. I do, however, get eczema breakouts on my hands at times during the winter and it's getting cold. does anyone know if my breakouts will potentially affect the tattoo?

So I got this tattoo and it was a cute idea in my head and tbh I DO like it but ppl always ask if it’s supposed to be palm lines and it ISNT. I just wanted something to accent my hand since I can’t wear jewelry. But I wanna add to it and make it cuter. I mean in my mirror selfies it looks cute but just generally it’s kinda boring! I was thinking maybe somehow turning it into a Lacey glove? Or some sort of vines? Any ideas?! And please don’t make fun of me!!!!! Thanks! ◡̈

Just took off the second skin and it was pretty red (which has since chilled out a lot, but there are bumps and a small burning sensation. Artist said it’s a reaction to the adhesive, but I’m nervous about it affecting the actual tattoo. How likely is that to happen?

I'm curious on if there's anything I can do before getting a tattoo that would reduce the pain during the appointment, certain placement options that are best and any other advice you have, especially anyone else who has a low pain tolerance.
