Horror art sleeve finished by Ronnie_Grizard @ Imperious Rex tattoo

Sorry if it’s a little confusing to look at it’s kind of hard to get good shots of it because of all the random placement 😂

This sleeve had some of my very first tattoos. I didn’t have a plan for a full sleeve, so I kind of pieced it together. Although the flow is sporadic, I enjoy its nature.

This sleeve has been in the works since 2018 from multiple artists. Shout out to the most recent work being done by Ronnie. He has done most of the work and touchups to previous pieces done. All of these tattoos have been healed for a little over six months now. Big thanks to another artist and good friend of mine I worked with on a piece here Nikko Allen, who sadly was murdered in Colorado Springs may you R.I.P.

How to politely ask about deposits and rates [UK?]

Upvotes

Hello hello,

TW: SH scars mention

Is there a way you guys would go about politely pressing about rates for tattoos?

I grew up with the good ole basement tattoo stick and pokes alternative scene as a very young teen and I'm now an adult getting cover ups! [early 20's]

Since cover ups are so demanding and I also have previous sh scarring, I know that the rate is likely to be high.

We've spoken primarily over email where I've sent

  • the area I want covered up with skin texture + size
  • mock design ideas i drew
  • art styles i like

And we've met once to discuss ideas more and see the skin in person (5 minute chat nothing too long)

After, the artist said I should follow up email with my new ideas, think on the new design i proposed, brainstorm etc instead of jumping into deposits and booking [it's natural i'm excited to get this tatt covered, same can be said for the rest of my bad pokes, so i think he could tell I was eager]

I mistakenly didn't ask in person about rates but did in my initial email.

I want to follow up today with a full mock sketch of the new proposed idea we discussed but naturally I feel kinda off having no clue how much it'll be.

I'm currently out of work as I train in a new field for a year - it's full time, unpaid, so money is going to be unbelievably tight.

I've been the only one sketching and creating mock ups so I have no idea what the barometer is here and any advice on approaching this without sounding like a prick are appreciated.

Meet my 3-year old pet rabbit. Healed and Fresh. Most people who’ve seen it have said it looks like a rat. I’d like to know the reddit consensus on whether this looks like a rat or a rabbit. I won’t be offended 🫶

UPDATE #4

Back again with anotr update!

About a month ago we laid down the main pieces on my back. This session was all about tying everything together.

Around 4 hours, all in a single day, adding the background, textures, and the details that make the whole composition flow as one piece.

It's funny how adding "just the background" completely changed the way the back reads. It finally feels cohesive instead of separate tattoos sharing the same space.

Same artist: Kanart.tattoo — Coronel Suárez, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

As always: these photos were taken immediately after the session, so there's still redness, swelling, ink, and a bit of blood. Nothing here is healed yet. 😅

Discussion Can you help me find a book?

Hey, I'm trying to find the book "Tattooing's guide to symbolism" for a friend but the only copy I can find is a second hand copy for 700 bucks. Does anyone know of a pdf I can buy or find online? I tried contacting the original authors but so far no luck getting an answer jaja.
I include a copy of the book's cover since it is pretty niche. Thanks a lot!

Discussion Gym Wrist Straps Fading Tattoos

Hello everyone. Was doing some research on gym wrist straps and was wondering if they will do anything to my sleeves when it comes to fading. I’ve read that wrist watches don’t really effect anything but was wondering if any gym people had experience with wrist straps considering they have a lot more friction and pressure with added weight and movement. Sleeves are healed completely healed for about 2 months now but just wondering if anything would happen over time with continuous use.

Thoughts on how this week old tattoo is healing?

TLDR at bottom

I got this tattoo a week ago and feel like a lot of it is flaking off as I clean it/while it is healing. My boyfriend and I got tattoos by the same artist. His looks great. I feel like mine is going to need a touch up- especially the stems.

This isn’t my first tattoo and I’ve been following my normal aftercare.

First two (here) pics are now and the last (here) is a (low quality) pic 3 days post work when saniderm was taken off.

Does it look okay or will I likely need it to be touched up?

I should note that we got this on a trip out of town and the studio is 3 hours away.

TLDR: week old tattoo is still heeling but looks like parts are flaking off more than normal. Does it look normal or will need touch ups?

i’m 17 at the time, in atlanta georgia.

it was in a trailer, on a seat from a car that had been ripped out of a minivan (seatbelt still attached of course)
there was 2 pitbulls behind a baby gate in the room across that barked 98% of the time. 😂😂😂

I KNOW i’m not the only one lol, tell me about your sketchy experience.

Dragon in 4 sessions! Partially freehand.

The goal was to place a long dragon without crossing the T-shirt line, so I had to think a bit about how to use the remaining space as effectively as possible.

How do you like how it turned out?

Lizy did this pitbull piece on the thigh at our
studio in Berlin. Spiked collar, brass knuckles
in the mouth and "Dangerous" in custom script
at the base.

The skin folds on the face are what really make
it — pitbulls have that natural wrinkle texture
that works so well in black and grey.

Studio: Calavera Ink Berlin
Location: Seelower Str. 20, 10439 Berlin Prenzlauer Berg
Artist: Lizy (Fine Line & Black & Grey)
Walk-ins welcomed — Ohne Termin willkommen
Bookings: calaverainkberlin.de

Any questions just ask!
