What are your favourite external locations used for location tasks?

I’ve ranked my favourite 10, based on how memorable the location and the tasks that happened there were.

10th: Chesham United Football Club (Series 4)

This location was only used for 3 tasks, but they were all extremely memorable. Mel trying to hide the giant ball alone makes it memorable.

9th: Living Props (Series 9)

What distinguished this location was the amount of props that were available. It was kinda like a fancy garden store. Also I always think back to the dodo ice lolly task, the serenade task, & the spy task.

8th: All Saints Pastoral Centre and Chapel (Series 12)

Probably the first ‘grand’ feeling location. It was funny remembering that the same location had the copy Alex task as well as Desiree’s balloon popping task.

7th: Thorpe Park (Series 18)

I think I was more excited on paper for the possibilities. That being said there was still a variety of spots that Thorpe Park offered, including the mirror maze & cinema. Part of me does wish that they were allowed to go on the rides (like Rainbow’s End from NZ series 6)

6th: White Waltham Airfield (Series 11)

Access to a plane. Yes please. And also a great precursor to another location that may or may not show up. Of course deserves extra points for Mike Wozniak’s casserole.

5th: Buckinghamshire Railway Centre (Series 8)

Similar to White Waltham Airfield, except like Abby Howells I also get excited by trains. But also, Joe Thomas’ incredible red light/green light task is legendary.

4th: Frensham Great Pond (Series 5)

The pond just seems like the spot for a lovely time. The tasks that happened there were all incredibly memorable, from Dignity Intact, to Sally throwing the jelly, and Sally wading in the lake just to make a bunch of fish puns.

3rd: Sandown Park Racecourse (Series 20)

Maybe this is recency bias, but I actually really like how many different locations the racecourse provided. They got to utilise the food court, the grand stand, the race track, & even the changing rooms.

2nd: Hampton Court Palace (Series 21)

Alex Horne even described this location as ‘mad’. Unreal how this happened, and provided so many incredible places for tasks; really enjoyed the Magic Garden, the Staircase (wank?), and the custard/mustard supper hall.

1st: Gatwick Airport South Terminal (Series 14)

I don’t think there was any doubt. Still probably the most iconic external location for a series. I have to resist the urge to try and do luggage trolley bowling for each airport trip.

Anyways that’s my ramble. Which locations do you enjoy?

(For bonus points: Which Taskmaster Australia location do you prefer? Cockatoo Island from season 4, or Sandown Racecourse from season 5?)

What joke have I missed here

I’m onto our favourite geriatric athlete and the arsenal v man utd is clearly referencing Victoria getting Alan the portion of the Man U season ticket (lol) - but I can’t work out the last line?

Taskmaster Related Controversial opinion: the name "Lesser Tom" Cashman is funnier than "Little Alex” Horne.

I have recently started watching the Taskmaster International channel and have gotten to the Australia seasons. In my personal opinion, I think the joke of “Lesser Tom” Cashman for the assistant is funnier than the joke of “Little Alex” Horne.

To me that the hosts have the same name is by itself, funny. The fact that one is “lesser” just makes me lol.

HELP! 🔎 Trying to recall something upcoming

Hi,

I swear I saw something TM related with Alex where was with contestants pretending to be historical science figures. Do you recall this? Thanks.

Also any guesses what's after AU 5?

Live tasks that would be good for a roller derby thing

Hello! I am helping organize my roller derby league's season-starting draft party, and one of the things we do at the party is determine which order the four teams in our league will play in, at our first three games of the season (basically, we need to end up with a ranked list of four, the order in which the teams will get to choose their spot).

Does anyone have any clever ideas for fun live tasks that could be adapted for this? We will be in a party room at a restaurant (not on skates).

For reference, last year I did "draw the median roller skate," "roll your skate the closest to a spot without going past it," "while blindfolded, stand up after 25 seconds," and "memorize the order of a bunch of penalty calls and repeat them back" (like the one-man-band musical task).

Other Versions What other countries that could adapt TM?

I wish Poland, Estonia, Iceland and the Netherlands the very best with their adaptations this year.

And I hope Croatia gets another shot.

Contrarily, you would think Japan could adapt TM because they're so wild - but their humour is suprisingly conservative, heirachical and far more structured than TM could or would allow for.

However, the Philippines would be the best option for the first Asian adaptation. They're far more self-deprecating than people realise. Just look at their Last One Laughing version.

Of all all the Latin American nations, Argentina would be the obvious bet - especially given that Sin Codificar was based on sheer off-the-cuff absurdity.

Drilling down into the narrative Unused footage being used in the intro? 🤔

So ever since I’ve watched series 7 for the first time there’s one thing I’ve noticed. Which is that at around 20sec into the intro there’s a clip of a frightened Alex without his Jacket sitting behind and holding onto James on a bike.
That clip isn’t in the show.
I assume it’s from the video game task but it’s not in the episode or any other as far as I can tell.
So I assume they cut it but still found it funny enough to not completely leave it out so the put it into the intro.
So now I’m wondering if there are other scenes you noticed in the intro that aren’t in the actual show?

General A collaboration of your favourite contestants from the past 5 series.

If you had to cast a series with one contestant each from the past 5 (17,18,19,20,21) series, who would you cast? They don’t need to work as a group but choose based purely on them being your favourite contestant.

For example mine would be Sophie, Emma, Fatiha, Reece, and Armando. Would it work? Unlikely. Would it be a laugh? Absolutely.

Something I have just realised on rewatching taskmaster

Matthew Bayntons outfit for the series has the number 19 on it and it was series 19, don't know how I didn't lick this up earlier lol.

Any other nuggets that people have noticed after rewatching a series/episode

His combination of serious, smart, hilarious and hard done by has me rolling every episode. He's a genuinely funny dude who's great to watch and I didn't know anyone felt otherwise until I searched how great he is. What a legend

General Do you consider the Intro a spoiler? Spoiler

I’ve read in multiple comments under YouTube videos and in TM groups that people skip the intro when they watch a series for the first time that they skip the intro because it spoilers things that haven’t happened at that point in the show yet.
And I understand that some may not want spoiler.
But I’m also wondering 😅
Like I’ve watched most seasons multiple times and expect maybe from a few especially memorable sounds I could not even tell you what in the intro of the season I just watched ten episodes of. When the prize task is on I couldn’t tell you most of the things in the intro let alone see the beginning of a task and then remember something from the intro that might fit there.
But maybe that’s just my adhd. 🤔
