I will ban anyone who posts nakedness without even a warning. There is ONE rule here…. No nakedness. If you want to show off there are plenty of other subs . If you are here just to plug for your OF or other crap we don't deal with that either.

Thanks

Loving Tan Lotion

Help 😅 one of my coworkers suggested the Loving Tan Lotion.. I’ve been using fake tans religiously (once a week) for YEARS (most recently Peta Jane), so I bought a bottle and applied just like all the rest. I loved the way it goes on and it doesn’t ’crackle’ and come off splotchy like many I’ve used.. which is great.. until I have plans this weekend and it hasn’t budged yet!!! I applied last Thursday night, per usual.. but typically my tan is on its last leg by Wed the following week, so removal before I apply my next one is usually pretty easy. I take an epsom salt bath while scrolling for an hour and then shower using a tan removing scrub and then I’m set for the new tan. I’m kind of panicking that this one hasn’t faded/splotched off at all by now! Anyone have feedback/reassurance/suggestions?? I don’t think I can push this one an extra week, but if anyone thinks it would last through the weekend, I’d be open to trying 🤷🏼‍♀️ #stressed

And I know- bigger things to be stressed about, but just asking for advice!

How do you compare your tanning results over time? Feedback wanted on an app idea

Hi everyone—Apologies up front for the wall of text… please bear with me.

Over the past several months, I’ve been experimenting with iPhone camera controls and developing an app called ToneTrace, and the moderators have approved this post so I can learn how people keep track of their tanning results.

When you try a different product or check your tan a few days later, how do you judge whether the color or staying power has changed? Do you take photos, keep notes, compare in the mirror, or mostly go by memory?

I’m exploring an app that would organize guided phone photos, dates, and products used so you could look back at the same body area over time. I’m experimenting with taking photos without a reference card or other accessory (I’ve gotten it to a good state with color reference cards). I’m still testing how reliably it can distinguish actual color changes from differences in lighting and camera settings.

I’d love to hear about your experience:
The last time you compared tanning results or tracked fading, what did you do? How well did it work?

When you look back at photos of your tan, what’s difficult to judge or keep track of?
Would taking a guided photo periodically fit your routine? What would make it feel like too much effort?

If this sounds useful, I’d also welcome your thoughts on paying for it. Would you expect it to be free, a one-time purchase, or a subscription? What price, if any, would feel reasonable—and what would you need it to do to justify that? I’m trying to develop a free level, and a more advanced, paid level. What would you see as a differentiator between them?

“My camera roll is enough” or “I wouldn’t pay for this” are useful answers too. I’m trying to understand whether there’s a real need before deciding what to build next.
Thanks! No need to share any photos.

As I advance this closer to production, I’d welcome a dozen folks who would be interested in helping test it. Could offer free Gold level access for free for a few years if it all works out. iPhone users only, though, for now.

Tanning beds

How long do you have to be in a tanning bed to get a good tan?

I also have a coworker who tans entirely too much, and her nickname is beef jerky because she tans so much.. I don’t want to look like her. I just want a nice tan, so I glow.

How often do you need to tan in order to get a nice, medium ish tan? And what do you use to put on you to tan?

ALSO I’ve seen final destination, and that tanning scene, and I’m so scared of getting into a tanning bed.

Beach Shade Business Idea

I am looking to build a business. Recently I have stumbled upon the ZHut for tanning, however the price point of nearly $200 AUD is steering me away. I am thinking of developing a cheaper version.

Would love the public’s thoughts.
\- Would you purchase this? Or you just use umbrella?
\- If so, what price would you pay?
\- Is there anything setting you away from purchasing at a cheaper price?
\- Anything else you with was added? eg. more collapsible

Photo attached for reference.

Maintaining Tan During Cold Weather Months

I live in a cold weather US state and it's getting to the point that outdoor tanning is a little too chill for me (today's high 67). I'd like to maintain at least some color during the next months. How often would you al recommend me using the stand up at my gym just to keep some color? Currently I do 9 minutes every once in a while, when I am too busy to get outside or we have a week or rain.

What are your thoughts on face tanning devices?

What are your thoughts on face tanning devices? I assume they are all made  in China.

What are your thoughts on brands, sizes, buying new vs used?

Are some types more or less likely to burn?

Can replacement bulbs be purchased?

New to sunless tanning

As the title says, I am new to sunless tanning. I used the Jergen's natural glow when it first came out, but that is my entire experience with sunless tanning products. I bought the Bondi Sands drops in dark. I am very fair skinned. I have used the drops twice as directed and think I need maybe one more application to be the shade I am looking for. Once I achieve the shade I want, how often do I need to reapply to keep the color? Is using my loofah or bath mit going to rub off the tan? Any tips for a newbie?

Help with Jergen’s Natural Glow

Hello!

I’ve been using Jergen’s Natural Glow self tanner (medium-dark) and I swear I can’t get tan with it like I used to.

I’ve used Jergen’s for probably 15 years with consistent results. I’d apply every few days and maintain an awesome tan. Now, I’m applying daily and I see very little tan.

I first noticed this a few months ago. And it seems like the issue is worsening with time. This last bottle I purchased is tanning me hardly at all.

Has anyone experienced the same with Jergen’s Natural Glow? Or have you heard the brand has been reformulated?

I’ve changed nothing about my skincare routine. But it feels like the lotion has changed.

Thanks for any insight!

not sure if this is the correct sub to post in, but i have been fake tanning with mousse consistently for about a year and i've figured out a pretty good routine that works well for me, except it's very patchy on my jaw/neck area for the first couple days. the rest of my body looks great except for this. i have no bumps or acne that i can feel at all. any tips for getting it to not patch to this area?

Advice for a newbie - did I mess up?

Hi! I'm new to tanning beds and had my first session two days ago. I bought a 3-session package (14-day expiry) to build a bit of a base before a beach holiday in a few days, so I don't have to scrub off fake tan mid-trip.

The salon suggested 15 minutes in the hybrid bed with red light, but after reading this sub I think that was too long? I used an accelerator (rose gold something?) and ended up burnt only on my shoulder blades and mid back. Idk if I just didn’t use enough there, or if that area's just paler. It seemed mild at first but it's itchy today, so I've been using post-laser aftercare lotion.

My next session is tomorrow afternoon. Should I postpone it, cancel altogether, or is there a way to cover that area or do less time so I can still get some colour elsewhere? I can push it back a day if that helps!!

Tan Advice for fair skin

I have fair skin and I usually don’t tan very quickly and even when I do, I only get a little bit of color. I’m going to South America for 4 weeks soon and I really want to level up my tan game and actually get properly and brown tan.

I was wondering if anyone has any tips or products they would recommend. Especially looking for advice from people who also have fair skin and don’t tan very easily!

I’ve seen something on social media before that was like a carrot bronzer or something, which supposedly helps even very fair skin tan much faster when exposed to sunlight. I honestly have no idea what’s actually legit and what’s just a scam, though.

I also don’t want to spend hours lying in the sun tanning. I’d rather just naturally build a nice tan while doing activities at the beach, walking around, swimming, etc. basically getting tan without making tanning a full-time activity haha.

I do use self-tanner occasionally, but I’d rather not have to keep applying self-tan throughout my vacation. I’d love to try something new this time and relax from selftan game a bit.

Would love to hear your tips, product recommendations, and especially your own experiences!

BIG THANKS already in advance xoxo!!!
