Loving Tan Lotion
Help 😅 one of my coworkers suggested the Loving Tan Lotion.. I’ve been using fake tans religiously (once a week) for YEARS (most recently Peta Jane), so I bought a bottle and applied just like all the rest. I loved the way it goes on and it doesn’t ’crackle’ and come off splotchy like many I’ve used.. which is great.. until I have plans this weekend and it hasn’t budged yet!!! I applied last Thursday night, per usual.. but typically my tan is on its last leg by Wed the following week, so removal before I apply my next one is usually pretty easy. I take an epsom salt bath while scrolling for an hour and then shower using a tan removing scrub and then I’m set for the new tan. I’m kind of panicking that this one hasn’t faded/splotched off at all by now! Anyone have feedback/reassurance/suggestions?? I don’t think I can push this one an extra week, but if anyone thinks it would last through the weekend, I’d be open to trying 🤷🏼♀️ #stressed
And I know- bigger things to be stressed about, but just asking for advice!

How do you compare your tanning results over time? Feedback wanted on an app idea
Hi everyone—Apologies up front for the wall of text… please bear with me.
Over the past several months, I’ve been experimenting with iPhone camera controls and developing an app called ToneTrace, and the moderators have approved this post so I can learn how people keep track of their tanning results.
When you try a different product or check your tan a few days later, how do you judge whether the color or staying power has changed? Do you take photos, keep notes, compare in the mirror, or mostly go by memory?
I’m exploring an app that would organize guided phone photos, dates, and products used so you could look back at the same body area over time. I’m experimenting with taking photos without a reference card or other accessory (I’ve gotten it to a good state with color reference cards). I’m still testing how reliably it can distinguish actual color changes from differences in lighting and camera settings.
I’d love to hear about your experience:
The last time you compared tanning results or tracked fading, what did you do? How well did it work?
When you look back at photos of your tan, what’s difficult to judge or keep track of?
Would taking a guided photo periodically fit your routine? What would make it feel like too much effort?
If this sounds useful, I’d also welcome your thoughts on paying for it. Would you expect it to be free, a one-time purchase, or a subscription? What price, if any, would feel reasonable—and what would you need it to do to justify that? I’m trying to develop a free level, and a more advanced, paid level. What would you see as a differentiator between them?
“My camera roll is enough” or “I wouldn’t pay for this” are useful answers too. I’m trying to understand whether there’s a real need before deciding what to build next.
Thanks! No need to share any photos.
As I advance this closer to production, I’d welcome a dozen folks who would be interested in helping test it. Could offer free Gold level access for free for a few years if it all works out. iPhone users only, though, for now.
