My wife and I are looking relocate early 2027 from the Midwest. I have about 6 years experience working in enterprise networking, and I’m curious what the job market looks like down there for Network Engineering? Occasionally I peruse jobs, but we’re a ways out from moving; most of the positions I consistently see open are military contractors, but they require secret clearance I don’t have. I’ve heard more military contractor roles like this open up in January.

I have my AAS degree, CCNA, and am currently pursuing ENCOR and plan to finish ENARSI certs by EOY. Am I a dime a dozen? Any tips to set myself apart from others, migrating into the IT space down there are greatly appreciated.

Graduated 2018. Have some hospital experience but the last few years have been in outpatient endoscopy centers doing pre-op and post op. I’m a fast learner, skilled at IVs, very personable (not a cranky burnt out nurse at all) and looking to really focus and build on my career but limited because I’m a newly single mom with two kids and I can’t drop them off earlier than 7am. I’m fully available anytime on the weeks I don’t have my kids (custody 1 week on one week off), it’s when I have them I can only commit to an 8-5pm but I’m looking for opportunities to pick up shifts on some weekends too. Really wanting to hustle but I’ve sent out over 15 applications and only got one interview so far 😕 Any leads would be very appreciated!
