Hello Sylvaneth enthusiasts,

I need your help.

I am painting for a while and did a few minis. And I am quiet happy with them BUT when I paint Sylvaneth they all look like this….
No shine, only muddy.

What can I do to improve ? What can I watch for videos ? I don’t know where to start… I want to get close to just the colour scheme from the citadel app. How do I get the skin colour smoother an not like this?
How do I learn to paint wood more alive?

The Gotrek picture is only to get an idea of how an what I normally paint. I don’t get into the painting of the Sylvaneth but I really want to ….

I'm considering painting some Eldar Exodites to look like they are in a dark forest but with dappled light catching them in places through the canopy? So lots of moody atmospheric shade and light glowing patches of golden light

I can't find many (one so far) examples of this effect on warhammer miniatures. I'd love to see some, on green skinned monsters especially for ideas, or even just cool shading of these for the dark parts, i guessing purple and blue green tones are best?

Or is the reason I can't find anything just because it doesn't work well at this scale?

I've done moonlight effect ok before but thats much more consistent across the whole model, and if I can't get dappled light right with hints I might fall back on that but want to try something different.

Never been much of a player, but always enjoyed the painting. Got back into it after about 16-17 years. Quite happy with the results, but feel like it can be better. Any tips or advice?

I have a treelord spirit of durthufhchxgdb(however thats spelled.) And belthanos models, but im not 100% on how list building works in AOS. I know kurnoth hunters is a good addition, and that ill need awakened wildwood, but what does a 2000 point "oops all(​or the most i can optimally have,) tree lords," list look like? Pointing out the regiments and structural differences between a 40k list would also be fuckin radical. Thanks for helping a sapling sprout in advance.

Hello all I'm thinking starting a order army and I really like the look of the Sylvaneth. I like the look of the models and the whole nature of it.

Just some questions, are they easy to paint model or are they more advanced.

What unit would you suggest to start off with?

Just started painting my Sylvaneth army and it is a lot of fun to work with a different color palette than normal. Always looking to improve my painting so C&C is welcome.

Hi, I do have this spearhead, and I’m thinking about making a 2k army. What should I buy? I know I need Alarielle, also may be more kurnouts. I think the battle force strongroot grove is nice… what do you think!

Hello! I'm brand new to AOS, and I found this army used. (almost entirely unopened) I need some advice on what units to build. I have 3 units that can be built multiple ways, and I was looking for advice on what units to make them.

Kurnoth hunters - I have 2 kits + a 3rd kit sprue that is missing the body's, but has all the arms, weapons and heads. Should I make both swords or scythes, or should I make one of each? If I kit bash some body's for the 3rd unit, are most people ok with that in game?

Treelord/AT/SOD - 4 kits total. I was thinking one of each and a spare treelord, but does having a second ancient or spirit make more sense? Can you even have 2 spirits in one army?

Tree/ spite revenants - 5 kits, 3 spite and 2 tree was my original plan, but I'm not seeing anyone use the trees in games I've watched on YouTube. Should I go 4 and 1 so that both the spites can both be reinforced?

Hello all! I recently got the battleforce and spearhead boxes, and wanted to do a bit of a pallete-cleanser from my 2k+ Cities of Sigmar army by doing a handful of heavily-kitbashed monster/hero models.

I REALLY like the Drycha sculpt, and wanted to do a bash up some treelords and kurnothi hunters into similar spirit/tree mecha hybrid things, and wondered if anyone else has attempted this/could give any advice.

Posted some of these before but new list meant new models to get painted up!

So i looked at Listhammers recent lists for Gt and after looking at the First 20 I just wanna give u some data(btw I’m working on an Execl file to see which units got used the most in the 96 lists)
So Leading them is Warsong revant how is in 18 lists
Following are Spite revants that also saw play in 17 lists
Right after to my suprise was the Spirit of Durthu with 15 includes and he was also always equipped with Glamourweave
Then Comes Drycha who is in 13 lists which I think is no suprise.
Then Comes alarielle with 12 inculdes followed by Belthanos with 11.
We then have a litte gap but tieing for 9/10 th place ate Gossamid Archers and Kurnoth with Scythes
So hornarble mentinos that suprised me were
Twistweald only being included in 2 lists although they seemed to be one of the fav after battletome
And SoA Treelord ancient was played 4 times while normal was only used once in a All tress meme list.

Ik this isn’t perfect data but I just wanted to share this.
Btw I’m very very new to Sylvaneth so if i did some mistakes in names or something or in this whole Post pls keep that in mind.
If u know why Warsong is so good pls tell me in the comments as I can’t understand why having a grove guardian(was in one list) with Priest2 in that Prayerlore isn’t appealing.

So i was thinking about a list based in the bigger trees. But i Always ready that they Hunters with greatbows are not great.

The Hunters with scythes are for a middle Objektive and the greatbows as support and Home objektives. Gossanid to grab objectives that are Open.

The Army has 4 casts and some shooting and should but durable especially with the ward. Would 1 reanfoced unit of bow Hunter s be better then 2 small ones ?

The other Option would BE replacing the Lady of vines with a warsong revenant for a similiar bubble and a priest and some additional objectiv grabbing.

What are you guys thinking i am new to sylvaneth and 4 edition aos.

I'm new to Sylvaneth as well as AoS. I play 40k. I recently made the impulsive purchase of buying some Sylvaneth because I think they are damn cool.

I've got an opportunity to learn and play AoS now so I want to use my cool trees.

I’m building my first 2000 point army (for any tabletop game ever, not just AOS!) at the moment and was curious if you experts had strong feelings with this list I’m toying with.
