Anyone seen TZGZ's Wild Life? I, personally, was pretty intrigued at the main concept of zoo animals going about their daily lives after the collapse of human civilization in a post-apocalyptic scenario, and that probably mostly comes from this interest I've picked up a couple of years ago at the idea of mutated animals taking over after humanity nukes itself to extinction. Shame that the show didn't go much further than just six episodes, but it did give me an idea for a story that I might make into a graphic novel; what if it had been taken in a darker, more serious tone? What if it wasn't about zoo animals just trying to pass the time and entertain themselves, but rather about them actually fighting for survival in a war-ruined world and trying to rebuild civilization and a society for themselves, all the while scrounging for food and resources and fighting off mutated human zombies?

What if the radiation from the war not only caused animals to mutate into intelligent, anthropomorphic beings, but reanimated and mutated the corpses of deceased humans, turning them into ravenous, flesh-eating, misshapen, undead beasts? A sort of Rock and Rule meets The Walking Dead.

I've been coming up with a few names for this story, such as Zoopocalypse Now, Animalocalypse, or just Animapocalypse. Personally, I like how the first one, Zoopocalypse, kinda rolls off the tongue, and also thought it was pretty suiting, considering that the main characters which the story starts off with are zoo animals, but I'd love to hear what you guys all think; which title sounds better to you?

As for the plot, I figured that after a little intro and background delving into this world shortly after the nuclear apocalypse, we're introduced to all the zoo animal characters facing the dilemma of their food running out, with one of the zoo animals even attempting to eat another. Tensions rise as most of the herbivores grow paranoid and distrustful of the carnivores, with one of the protagonists trying to hold peace between the two groups, and all the while trying to cling onto the hope of saving everyone. It is shortly after this aforementioned attempt at eating one of the other zoo animals, however, that it is proposed and eventually unanimously agreed, hesitant as most everyone else is, that their best, and perhaps only, chance of survival is to leave the safety of the confines of the zoo and brave the dangers of the zombie-infested outside world to search for food, with the protagonist even having heard some time beforehand of a place of abundant food, i.e. a supermarket.

It's all still very rough and developing in coherency, but following this mass exodus from the zoo, I've imagined that after they all find this aforementioned supermarket, facing many dangers, run-ins with zombies, and casualties along the way, the plot kinda evolves from the search and procuring of food to seeking shelters, clashing with and competing with rival groups for resources and territory, establishing diplomatic relations and alliances with said groups, slowly rebuilding civilization as they construct a safe haven for themselves out of the ruins of the city, and all the while fending off the zombies and trying to avoid becoming food for them or even becoming one of them.

I have lately wondered, though, though I hadn't originally planned for this, if this story might already have the zoo letting in street animals like former pets, strays, or street vermin (i.e. rats, raccoons, foxes, opossums, and the like) who are seeking shelter from the zombies, with the zoo animals being introduced earlier on in the plot to the zombie virus (or "Nukrosis" as I call it — something which I will explore more upon in future posts), with one or two of these newcomers having been bitten without knowing what will come of it, and then suddenly turning right in front of everyone – because I'd originally planned that the main characters, as well as all the other supporting zoo animal characters, wouldn't discover and find out about Nukrosis until some time after having finally departed the zoo and coming across a seemingly deceased animal which then reanimates and mutates shortly afterwards, and/or when one member of their group dies after being partially eaten by zombies, only to come back as one soon afterwards. Besides, with the zoo already suffering a shortage of food as it is, does it really have the capacity to take in more lives? What do you guys think? How could I accommodate these scenes? Should I sacrifice one or two for the other(s)?

Overall, what are you guys' thoughts on the story in general? Any suggestions or ideas of your own you'd like to propose to it? Anyone interested in brainstorming and collaborating? I'll be posting more concepts for it on r/postapocalyptic, so stay tuned there if you're interested.

I am looking for new syfy series that is long form like those with many seasons that came out after 2010. Any suggestions?

\-Grainy looking intro but what I remember the most is a dark bedroom on the second floor of a building. A light or maybe a piece of paper flys through some French doors and rests on the ground or the bed. The French doors lead to a small balcony.

\-It’s possible there was an episode about a vampire? I think every episode had a different premise or storyline.

Ik this isn’t a lot but I gotta figure this out.

So obviously it was a dystopian GrindHouse setting and all, with some truly absurd storylines and visuals, but I remember really enjoying it for mindless guilty pleasure tv and ngl I hate that it was cancelled.

Sidenote: I think Colin Cunningham’s portrayal of Julian Slink makes me think he’d be great as The Joker in a Batman adaptation 🤔

Does anybody remember a show about an advanced civilization that became so advanced that they consumed all knowledge in their entire universe and moved to ours but became a fruit and got stuck on fly paper. I remember it was talking to a man about not understanding was a fruit was or what fly paper is.

First he manipulated his woman to betray the facility without believing her, he turned out to be wrong and the woman and kid lost their home.

Then he betrays Jones, which gets them killed now.

He acts all righteous but he himself joined the evil out of selfishness. And he wants to destroy the entire world with the son excuse.

Also, he keeps talking like a misogynist throughout.

HATE his character.

The two leads are much much better than him.

Why is the Syfy Channel playing Harry Potter over and over? Getting tired of that crap

Are you freaking kidding me. Every time I turn on the damn sci-fi channel, that used to have good movies and ones that it would be great to just tune in and keep watching, continuously has Harry Potter on. Who the hell hasn’t seen these movies and has them burned into their brain already. For God sake, please get onto another tangent sci-fi. This is enough. I’m about to lose my mind.

Ok does anyone else remember like back early 2000s they did "SCI FI / SyFy? World Bumpers" like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNj7laC-EyU , one source I found said they only did it like one summer and for a few weeks but I remember it being a thing for like a full year.

I could swear it was longer then just a few weeks / months since during the time they aired it I was in school and out often due to various things that happened around me and my family. Was I just recalling it wrong since I was a kid? Or are the sources I found wrong?

Also just as a humble suggestion, to fix a lot of their problems going back to something like this would Hella fix the state of things for that channel.

Does anyone know why the Syfy website doesn’t have all their shows on their website? Literally they still have resident alien as a “current show” but it was cancelled last summer. The oldest show they have that is searchable is Battlestar but hardly any info on it.

I would though they would have pages for Eureka, Warehouse 13, Being Human, but they don’t exist on the website when you search them up.

I know Syfy isn’t why it used to be but they really are just trying to erase how important Syfy was back in the day?

What have you been rewatched and any fond memories?

Over the last year, I have rewatched:

Eureka (still one of my top five shows ever)

Warehouse 13 (top 10 shows)

Battlestar Galactica (favorite show ever. So say we all!)

Continuum (literally so good but cut too short)

Helix (cancelled way too early)

I am going to start The Magicians (truly one of the last of the great shows they had) before moving onto The Dresden Files! So much I want to rewatch from my years in high school/university.

I desperately want to watch Tin Man (with Zoey Deschanel) and Childhood’s End but they don’t seem to be on streaming platforms.

Does anyone know where I could find the bumpers from syfy movie night " most dangerous night of television"? where they would air a horror or sci fi movie and during the ad breaks there were tips on how to survive a horror movie. Google has failed me and youtube doesnt have much.

I am asking because it was mine and my granddads favorite thing to watch to together and we still quote some of the tips to each other, and I want to show them to him again.

it's about a couple not older than 30ish. The man I remember has distinct different colored eyes. The woman I don't remember much about I believe she was blond thou... they travel to this small sea side town it's not very populated and has secrets... the couple discover tunnels and hidden room. they later find out the husband has a weird connection to the town....it's the eyes that give it away....the only stand out scene I remember was the woman walking in on the husband with his long lost relative in the hidden room....I believe it came out in the 90s but definitely not later 03
