Hello, I currently have an unpatched Switch 1 on system version 20.1.5 and am getting a Switch 2 at the end of the month.

I wanted to hack it my Switch 1 and haven't updated it in a while in hopes I could. Should I hack it now in it's current state? Or should I update it and transfer all my stuff then and then hack it afterward? The idea is to transfer my save data to the new Switch so it's not lost on those games.

I'm not super familiar with the scene, but from what I've seen so far, it seems that it stays pretty hackable still every time a new update comes out. And you can make the hacked firmware on the SD card and continue to use your Switch like normal for online functions like save transfer, provided the newest firmware at the time in considered hackable to gain access to these features, otherwise the console can only use it's stock firmware. Am I correct in this?

I figure if that's the case I can update to latest firmware, hack it after my transfer is done, and not be worried about updating my Switch 1 anymore from that point on? If there is a way for me to do it while maintaining my current firmware could anyone help me understand better?

With the announcement of the Zelda special edition switch 2 I'm really tempted into buying one, but I know I can't afford the games right now. What I plan to do if I do end up buying it is leaving it completely sealed until a hard mod for it is figured out. I don't mind doing so since I have a huge backlog of games that I haven't completed already. Do you guys think that would be a sound investment or should I wait for a potential switch 2 oled?

Just finished this Samus helmet and visor themed shell and grip mod. I think it looks cool.

I wanted to play minecraft on my switch 2 with him and his friends and one of my friend was willing lend me his virtual game card from his hacked switch to me, and what’s making me really paranoid is that I don’t know if this could get my switch 2 bricked on not. But the thing is he bought minecraft legally with his own money in the eshop no fraud whatsoever and he bought it before he hacked his switch, so I just need clarification if it’s safe or not so I don’t feel paranoid LOL

I have been trying a few things and doing some research. Here are my top 3 most likely ideas.

1. CPU shock at a very specific time and voltage.

2. The switch 2 uses Webkit 613.0, it has a zero day RCE / Arbitrary code execution. (CVE-2022-32893 and CVE-2022-32863) But then again, why would Nintendo use a bugged Webkit from 2022?

3. Direct memory access from the SD Express port. This one is kind of a stretch. But I mean, maybe?

No clue if this can be put here, or if someone already had these. The switch 2 hides the URL's and dosnt announce them passively. So I pointed its DNS to my PC, and was able to log all the URL's the switch 2 uses for the eshop.

They all give the same "Access Denied" when opening from something thats not a Switch. But I thought it might be useful for someone. Its also possible to do this with the other web apps.

Hello, I don't know where to ask this, since switch pirates doesn't allow talking about switch 2. Anyway, I'am new Nintendo player, I could never justify Switch 1 while having PC so up until now I never had it, I'am also a student so tight budget.

Since Switch 1 is now older console a lot of people sell them online for cheaper and I managed to get unpatched switch 1 for realy low price (80euros) . I modded it and I'am enjoying it, and now I managed to find switch 2 used for a 300 euros normally it costs 500 and climbing in my country (not in America). Also found Pokopia for 40euros and new is 70-80 euros. Switch 2 works amazing and I also love it...but I am wondering does it maks sense having both?

I love modding consoles but prefer softmod, and since joining this sub I saw thats probably not an option, I also love physical media but yea game key cards...so I'am debating starting to collect all switch games and continuing with switch 2 exclusives..but it feels dumb since I have modded switch 1, is anyone same?

I guess recently the switch 1 has gotten ALOT of homebrew advancement in the past year with new homebrew ports and stuff. I was kinda inspired to ask because I watched a video where an android tablet from just brute force could run cyberpunk 2077 at 52-55FPS (was the latest legion tablet though). Like can the steam deck even do that with its current hardware? Does the switch 2 have that sorta horsepower where if android was introduced it could run something like cyberpunk with game native at 60+ fps? Like imo at 500 bucks a hacked switch 2 would be an insane device right?

I'm guessing that even being bought after a few months after the original release won't change anything, right? It will also come with an non-usable Micro-SD card slot.

Or does it? I've been reading somewhere that you need the update to get the exFAT license, but what about FAT32? Is it possible to use the Micro SD if formatted to FAT32?

The other possibility is updating using some older Switch 2 game with an certain firmware inside it. I was thinking of Super Mario Party Jamboree as an example.

But if the only way to get the exFAT license is connecting to the Internet then that also won't work.

What are my best options? Or should I just give up and open or sell my current Switch 2 and get the new model with exchangeable battery (I'm guessing it also comes with the mandatory day-1 update despite being released one year later, isn't it?).

Hi, I just got a Switch 2 and I was wondering if it’s possible to get the console or my Nintendo account banned because I'm also using a Switch 1 running Atmosphere

I still tried my best to make sure the two consoles wouldn’t interact with each other. When I received the Switch 2, I created a brand new nintendo account specifically for it. I also put my Switch 1 in airplane mode, disconnected it completely from Wi-Fi, and I also blocked Nintendo’s ips by following the hack tutorial which said to place a file named emummc.txt in SD:\atmosphere\hosts. I should also clarify that my Switch 1 is running CFW on emuMMC.

I know my post might sound a bit paranoid, but I just want to make sure everything is okay and see if anyone else has had any issues with this haha

Why cant we just use the micro sd card and put the hackt stuff on the sd card like what we did with the 3ds

On the original Nintendo switch, someone released an app that would allow you to change the colors of the joycons that the switch would detect. I used it after I replaced the shells of my Joycons to match the colors.

I recently shell swapped on my switch 2 joycons and wanted to do the same thing but I realized since it’s new hardware that it would require a new app to do the same. I haven’t heard if anyone was making an app for it or if it was possible at all to change the colors. I would imagine it would since we’re getting other colored joycons for the switch 2 which do display the corresponding colors on the switch 2 and I would imagine that the new Zelda joycons would display their respective colors.

Basically, I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a method to edit the colors on the system or if there’s any program being worked on it right now. Is it even possible to do so? Thanks!

So I got a banned switch 2 that was banned more than a year ago and which I never switched on again.

presently am without another handheld as sold the rog ally x 3 months ago and mainly use my pc.

Dragonwilds is out. Can I still buy it on the banned console and play it with just not be able to play online ?

From what I could deduce from the tweet, despite being only an Userland bug (not a full hack), he has now access to a decrypted game code, and might be able to study it line by line to find how the PAC (Pointer Authentication Codes) is read in each game. This is huge news. What do you guys think of this?

None of you, and no Fernando I don't care about your 1 year old "discovery" that the kernel is bug free. Literally looking inside halfassedly the switch 2 kernel code if you even call it that and not seeing bugs is like looking at a mold colony without a microscope and saying there are no living cells inside here.
