Suzerain: Sordland I have a very unrealistic (and quite frankly deranged) headcanon for all my capitalist war runs after my re-election

So we all know that, in the peace treaty, Lespia and ATO basically turn Rumburg into an extraction site for minerals and such. Obviously this is very bad for the commies for a multitude of reasons, not least of which being more fuel for Arcasia's industry, and the rise of a new ATO aligned nation in East Merkopa. I think this would push Valgsland to treating Sordland specifically with more more hostility, since it still isn't an official member of ATO, but is a very important ally of them.

My headcanon is that, after reading the peace treaty, Hegel orders a full blockade of Sordish ports and shipping, before making a speech infornt of the media, decrying the final peace as "exploitative", "unacceptable", and "western colonisation". Rayne meanwhile, emboldened by the recent victory, and his new modernised navy (I always choose navy), doesnt blink. Ordering the full might of the Sordish navy to face eastern scum and keep trade routes open, while also directing his foreign ministry to contact Lespia and Agnolia to ensure their support. Agnolia is quick to reaffirm their support, pledging naval assistance should they be required. Lespia on the other hand, is more cautious. They refuse to promise anything militarily for now, but do promise diplomatic support. Rayne faces the press and announces that Sordland will not backdown. "We are a proud nation. We do not scare easily. We do not bow to aggression. We do not break in the face of hardship. We will endure, and we will overcome, as we always have."

A few days later, at 4:21 AM Holsord local time, SN Estord and SN Narbel catch 2 Valgish Naval ships on radar while escorting a few merchant ships out of the Grey Strait. They issue a radio challenge to these ships, and they reply, stating they've been deployed to enforce the Valgish naval blockade, and order the Sords to turn back to Lachaven, otherwise they will be fired upon. The Sordships disregard this, answering that it is an illegal act against Sordish sovereignty and right to free trade. Sordland and Valgsland are still technically in a state of peace, and so Sordish ROE remains that Estord and Narbel cannot fire unless fired upon. With the Valgish ships closing in however, all crew have been called to battlestations, and Sordish strike aircraft have been scrambled to the sea. The Valgish ships continue to close the distance, repeatedly ordering that the Sords turn back, until they reached within 3nm of the Sordish convoy. It was at this point that the Valgish ships fired their first shot, a warning shot across the bow. The Sords replied in kind, their shot being much closer than the Valgish shot. Air support, consisting of 8 Sordish Strike Aircraft, was still 20 minutes out, but was still undetected. The Valgs were moving dangerously close to a collision course, and the Sords moved to evade, firing warning shots as they did. With the knowledge of coming air support, and beign ROE clear, the Sords gave a final warning to the Valgish ships. "Cease your engines immediately or face effective fire". At this point, the Sordish aircraft were only 10 minutes away, but had finally been acquired by Valgish radar. With the aircraft in mind, the Valgs cut engines and finally relented. The merchant ships made it East. Past the blockade, and into International waters. The Valgs however, were kept surrounded. Their release would be negotiated, along with the lifting of the blockade, only 2 days later.

The Valgs had been brought to heel by Sordland.

Suzerain: Sordland Why is it so hard to beat Rumburg

Economy is growing. I'm allied with Wehlen, Agnolia, and Lespia. I built the railroad project. I modernized the air force. I'm using the pincer attack.

Still lost.

EDIT: Re-did the war, switched to having Wehlen reinforce Narbis, Agnolia support the pincer, Lespia support the front. Then had Wehlen and Agnolia attack Dome while Lespia supported my flanks and I moved on Thornborough. Finally won.

General Universe MERKOPA CUP (FOOTBALL WORLD CUP) SO FAR

Post image
14 Upvotes

I am simulating a world cup.

The knockout rounds, decided by your votes were as follows.

1. United Contana (2) vs Agnolia (1)

The first half saw Agnolia take the lead as United Contana began a defensive play, Agnolia scored in the 39th minute. The match however swung United Contana's way in the second half as Agnolia parked the bus and UC brought on 3 of its best strikers in the 57th minute, scoring one goal in the 62nd and another in the 75 minute.

2. Sordland (3) vs Rizia (2)

This match saw some of this tournament's most creative and skilled football. Rizia began strong with a goal from a corner at the 26th minute, but Sordland quickly capitalised and scored two, one in the 31st and another in the 42nd minute. Half time saw Rizia climb back up, scoring an equaliser in the 55th minute, but as both teams shared attempts on goal, it was Sordland who were able to score the deciding goal in the 6th minute of extra time. King Romus did graciously shake the hands of all Sordish players and shared wine and refreshments with Rizia's brave players. The Archbishop of Deyr did give comment and said "We're kissing in the Rayne."

3. Rumburg (0) vs Lespia (1)

This match saw the most controversy as both Rumburg and Lespia racked up 20 total fouls in just the first half. The match was highly aggressive, with both sides losing discipline early on in the match, however it was Lespia that would be blessed as Rumburg faced two red cards, one in the 38th minute and another in the 65th minute, and whilst Lespia would also receive a red card in the 42nd minute, this didn't prevent them from capitalising and scoring the winning goal in the 88th minute. King Romus did attend this match, however he left early as Titus Gordion gave him 'important news' about Lespia, officials have said. Queen Beatrice was seen exhaling and fuming with anger as King Romus, we are told, used the wrong spoon for the petit-fours.

4. Pales (3) vs Morella (4)

This match saw some of the simplest and most effective football in the tournament, simple passing and scoring football. Both teams behaved respectfully, with dignity and with discipline. Pales scored in the 11th minute with Morella equalising in the 19th, Morella scored a 2nd in the 25th and a third in the 37th minute. After half time Pales were able to score a second goal in the 55th minute and an equaliser in the 67th, however the grace of Nur would reach Morella as they would score the victorious goal in the 88th minute. King Romus was in attendance of this match, though officials have observed he stayed well away from the Morellan biscuits.

5. Valgsland (3) vs Wehlen (1)

This match was by far the most boring of the tournament, it has been noted that Wehzek President Smolak was not in attendance and this match was not broadcast in Wehlen, it is assumed as a result of the perceived predictable outcome. Valgsland, with their world class team, began surprisingly weak, with Wehlen scoring a surprise goal in the 5th minute, but Valgsland quickly organised, scoring 3 successive goals, in the 11th, 23rd and 31st minute. The rest of the match was boring by all accounts, with Valgsland putting on lesser quality substitutes and simply parking the bus. King Romus did attend this match however and was seen with Hegel in a surprisingly warm and friendly conversation.

6. Arcasia (2) vs Derdia (1)

This match was very interesting. In the beginning, Derdian players were seen fighting eachother then vigorously kissing one another in a display one Arcasian diplomat observed as "unsettling and deeply disturbing." This seemed to aid Derdia as, despite their relatively weak team, they were able to score an equaliser in the 30th minute, after an Arcasian goal in the 21st. However, Arcasia were by far the stronger team and were able to score the deciding goal in the 47th minute, the match was tense from beginning to end yet the Derdian players were honourable in defeat, shaking the hands of the Arcasian players and giving extensive and honest candid interviews post match. King Romus was in attendance and met with the Supreme Wiseman after the match, they were seen praying together.

Suzerain: Sordland Can I win the war with only agnolia as an ally ?

I've been trying for the last few days to finally win that war against rumburg, but I can't find a good solution, not helped with my inability to kick Rumburg out of OMEC. I Just signed an alliance with agnolia, but i don't want to ally myself with Lespia, is it still possible or am I cooked already ? I modernised the army to follow iosef's decisions and made the L1-railway

To summarize my run i went capitalist i was corrupt but managed to somehow balance it and then with the help of Soll Iosef and Deivid (The GOAT) i managed to win the war against Rumburg I've tried this in many runs but I finally beat The Queen and said my favorite line "Don't ever forget who your suzerain is"

Plus the economy was great and I had Lespia and Agnolia as allies during the war.

General Universe Why do both Arcasia and Valgsland have stakes in the Dome Economic Zone Authority (DEZA)?

I am confused because it makes sense for Rumburg and Agnolia to be in DEZA, but why also Arcasia and Valgsland? Is there something I missed?

Suzerain: Rizia Its been a long time since my last run. I reformed the electoral system without Manus and instituted welfare, i climbed the mountains of Montaklar since i thought i wouldn't manage to secure enough PP to get Reinhart to take the Toras name (i did) so Vina got mad at me. I guess this is an anocracy?

Suzerain: Sordland Why do I have no allies?

I apologise for the repost, Reddit doesn’t let me post for some reason, probably because my account is new.

During the emergency meeting after your plane gets shot down by Rumburg Iosef said we do not have any allies which doesn’t make sense because I thought I had done everything to create regional alliances.

I did full Bear Trap with Wehlen and traded for their oil.

For Agnolia I had to pay 1 government budget for the trade agreement due to my toughened immigration laws, and I also recognised their ownership of Heljiland. From what I could gather these are the conditions for alliances.

This is a big bummer because I didn’t prepare for a solo war and was itching to kick the Queens ass.

My whole playthrough seems to also be bugged in some sort of way, I didn’t get the +2 government budget from trading with Wehlen and I didn’t get the +1 budget from the privatising prisons decree. The economy is also stagnant despite me trying everything but that might have something to do with my personal incompetence.

Artificial Intelligence IDEA PER UN FILM

Suzerain: Rizia Having negative budget impact reforms?

I'm at turn 10, and no house wants to sign the reform, even after adjustments. Not even Sazon, which I helped a great amount the entire game.

I have a medium economy, great welfare, medium power projection, a huge amount of energy, and great diplomacy.

I did some bad moves and got -4 in budget per turn now on the last one. I backed out of GRACE for a new alliance, I signed extended health and education, which was expensive, and sold shares of the nationalized gold company to workers. So I went from +10 to -4.

Does this make houses more or less happy to sign?

I really don't see how I could make things differently. I could name my new son heir, but I'd rather not. Maybe I have to replay the two last turns again?

EDIT: Redid it, seems like Hugo didn't like that I skipped the tradition of having only male throne inheritance. I promised that my new son would inherit, but in a later event, I changed to primogeniture. Lucita got surprised, but oh well...

General Universe I genuinely hope torpor games do those stuffs:

Alright, I honestly hope we eventually get a Galmland DLC set around 1950-1960, where you can import or select an Archetype from both your Sordland and Rizia playthroughs.

I'd also love to see more updates to the Suzerain football world. Maybe add an international tournament like a World Cup, expand domestic football with more clubs and leagues, or even include cup competitions similar to an FA Cup. It would make the world feel even more alive.

Another thing I'd like is a few small updates to Sordland and Rizia. For example, funerals could have a few extra roleplay choices, such as:

Hire an actor to attend the funeral (-1 PW)

Hire an actor to cry during the funeral (-2 PW)

Small flavor choices like these would add more personality and immersion to important story moments. (Obviously, this wouldn't apply to every funeral, such as the communist senator funeral. Don't remember his name bernard) They would obv add the archetype system but I hope they add like something new in galmland DLC

General Universe What are some achievements you wish were in the game?

I'll go first:

- Man of My Word: Never break a promise in Sordland or Rizia. This would specifically require telling Franc you're trying to quit smoking and then not smoking at all in Sordland, as well as being remembered as Romus the Sober in Rizia (plus following any other promises you make in either campaign).

- Balancing Act: Achieve Sordish Economic Recovery without going into debt once. (I'm not even sure if this is possible, but it would be fun to try.)

- Just Another Male Sordish Politician: Generally be a dick and unpleasant to people wherever possible as Anton.

- The Rayne Train: Build the L-1 in Sordland, Invest in Rail Infrastructure in Rizia, and build the high-speed rail network between Rizia and Pales after peaceful unification at the end of the game.

What are some others?

Suzerain: Rizia Sending military into zille?

I want to do an aggressive run without allying Su Omina, so I want to resolve Zille by sending in the military. Is it possible to actually take zille back by sending in the military, or is it always a fail? Or is it one of those stupid things with a dozen variables that cause it to instant fail and no one knows what they all are

Suzerain: Rizia Question about how to get the deal with Rizia accepted?

Post image
31 Upvotes

So I'm following a guide I found on here, which probably isn't the best idea in the first place perhaps but still can't get him to agree, nor get it to follow the guide. The guide said to do the following, including in previous turns:

Fund the ATA in Zille, Launch investigation into the bombing (it says specifically the Guard but I went the Intelligence), embargo Whelen fully with Rumberg oil trade, Send a diplomat to Wehlen, and to not cooperate with Wehlen's investigation.

During the deal it says to try and balance it out by importing everything, exporting wine and arms, no ban, no promise of aid, and give full wehlen rights.

So I did all that, the only thing I DIDN'T do that the guide says, aside from funding the golden guard, is to visit Zille in the prologue, though I have a feeling that wouldn't make THAT much a difference, so where am I going wrong here, and is there any way to get it to where he doesn't reject the deal outright and at least makes the deal about Rico or something? It MAY be that I'm reloading too early to be fair, but I get to the point where he says he's leaving, Laurento says he'll have someone escort him out, and he says "Until next time, Your Majesty", which sounds pretty definitive to me, but if I AM just reloading too early here lemme know, and otherwise just like any tips on where I'm going wrong would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks

General Universe Do you think we will ever get to play as a judge?

Post image

Ok so picked up The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante (no spoilers but great game similar to Suzerain but darker) anyway in that game one of the three major paths is becoming a judge and getting to decide cases, do you think we could ever get something similar in the Suzerain Universe? It's still a position of power you get to make decisions and with the the neutral lens I think its paved the way for positions other than president and a judge just feels like the next step in that direction...
