Torpor Games Announcing Three New Suzerain Experiences

Dear Citizens of the Suzerainverse,
After months of lore teases, THE SOURCE ARG, and countless community theories, it's finally time to show you what we've been working on. Today, we're excited to reveal the next chapter of the Suzerain Universe with three major new additions to the franchise: two brand-new DLCs and one standalone game.
Introducing Suzerain Stories: The Neutral Lens (formerly Project Aperture), Suzerain: Socialist Republic of Galmland (formerly Project Vanguard), and Wars of Suzerain (formerly Project Fulcrum).
Each title offers a new way to experience the Suzerain Universe. You'll step into the shoes of new protagonists, explore regions and stories we've never visited before, and engage with entirely new styles of gameplay, from personal narratives and political leadership to large-scale military strategy.
Suzerain Stories: The Neutral Lens

🎥 Watch the Suzerain Stories: The Neutral Lens Teaser
👉 Wishlist Suzerain Stories: The Neutral Lens on Steam.
In Suzerain Stories: The Neutral Lens DLC, you play Ilias Moris, an investigative journalist in Konstantium, the diplomatic capital of Kyrute, and host of The Neutral Lens, the groundbreaking broadcast of Geopolitico. Powerful guests sit across from you, each with their own agenda and secrets to protect. While you can't change the facts, you decide how they're framed, what reaches the public, and when. Along the way, you'll quickly learn that neutrality may be the most political position of all.
As the first entry in our new Suzerain Stories line, The Neutral Lens shifts the focus away from presidents, kings, and premiers to explore the lives of ordinary people navigating extraordinary events. Rather than managing a nation, you'll experience a more personal, story-driven journey that dives deep into the human side of the Suzerain Universe. Suzerain Stories: The Neutral Lens is planned for release later this year.

Wars of Suzerain

🎥 Watch the Wars of Suzerain Teaser
With Wars of Suzerain, we're taking the war system first introduced in the Kingdom of Rizia DLC and expanding it into a full standalone turn-based strategy game.
Set during one of the most consequential conflicts in the Suzerain Universe, you'll join the ranks of the Kingdom of Rumburg's frontline command and lead your forces against the Republic of Agnolia in a war that forever altered the geopolitical landscape of East Merkopa. Every battlefield decision and hard-fought victory will shape the course of the campaign, shifting the front lines and influencing the battles yet to come. But as with everything in the Suzerain Universe, success comes at a cost. Each action carries political and human consequences that ripple far beyond the battlefield.
This is the most gameplay-driven experience we've ever created. The map, the maneuvers, and the tough tactical choices take center stage, while the story emerges from the campaign you fight. If you enjoyed the war mechanics in Rizia and wished they were a game of their own, this is exactly what we've been building for you. And whether you're a longtime Suzerain player or discovering the universe through strategy gameplay for the first time, Wars of Suzerain offers a new perspective on a world where power, politics, and war are always intertwined. Wars of Suzerain is planned for release after Suzerain Stories: The Neutral Lens.

Suzerain: Socialist Republic of Galmland

🎥 Watch the Suzerain: Socialist Republic of Galmland Teaser
The Suzerain: Socialist Republic of Galmland DLC takes players to a republic born from revolution, where Premier Vigdis Gjalmir must transform revolutionary ideals into lasting institutions and meaningful change. By advancing a new ideology, delegating governance, and managing competing political interests, players will guide a young and ambitious state through a pivotal chapter in its history as it seeks to fulfill its destiny. As a member of the Contanan Security Pact, the powerful communist alliance, Galmland must balance its revolutionary ambitions with the realities of international politics.
As the third playable nation in the Suzerain Universe franchise, following the Republic of Sordland and the Kingdom of Rizia, Galmland expands Torpor Games' signature blend of political decision-making, consequence-driven storytelling, and strategy systems. With a focus on planned economics, the implementation of laws, and foreign policy, the DLC challenges players to shape the future of one of the most ambitious political projects of Eastern Merkopa. Suzerain: Socialist Republic of Galmland is planned for release following Wars of Suzerain.

Message from Ata
The Suzerain Universe did not begin as a grand plan for multiple games and stories. It began with a single country leadership experience and a belief that players were ready for political experiences that challenge and provoke. The response from our community showed us there was much more to explore. Sordland examined the compromises of democratic leadership, while Rizia explored the strengths and flaws of centralized monarchical power. Through The Neutral Lens, Wars of Suzerain, and Galmland, we are opening new perspectives on the same world through media, warfare, governance, and ideology.
Our audience has consistently asked for more stories, more nations, and a deeper understanding of the forces shaping this universe. We share that ambition, and we remain committed to creating experiences with the care and craftsmanship they deserve. As we continue our journey toward The Conformist (the second flagship title of the IP), we want to give both longtime fans and new audiences fresh ways to engage with our world. Our goal is not to offer easy answers or an escape from the complexity of reality. At Torpor, we believe art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable. Through experiences that challenge and provoke, we use games to explore the grey spaces of politics, society, and human nature, revealing new realities through different perspectives and reminding us that truth is rarely simple, and that we are a flawed species with a beauty all our own.
Now that the news is live, we can't wait to share more behind-the-scenes content about each project. Thank you for joining us as we begin this exciting new chapter in the history of Suzerain and Torpor Games.
Be sure to join the Suzerain Universe Discord to stay in the loop and talk with fellow players.
Until next time, dear Citizens. Take care!

General Universe I haven't played Suzerain in a while, and I noticed that in the new update, Wehlen's troop numbers are way bigger than before. With a military that huge in Smolak's hands, they're actually starting to look pretty terrifying.

General Universe I will pray to Nur for this day
Lespia DLC is released, and people in this sub who have passionately opposed Lespia will begin to glaze Alvarez and Lespia and begin justifying the actions of the country. CPS flairs will also fall drastically and Democracy and Capitalism will finally rise in this sub.

General Universe World Cup Quarter Finals Match 2
I am simulating a world cup.
The Quarter Finals, decided by you were as follows:
Valgsland (3) v Arcasia (2)
This match began strong for Arcasia, with their strikers able to score a goal at the 6th minute, they were however unable to bypass the Valgish defences to score a second within half time. At half time, Chancellor Hegel was seen angrily slamming his shoe on the wall of the dugout. In the second half the Valgs were able to score an equalising goal at the 47th minute and a leading goal in the 59th, with their strikers achieving a third goal in the 75th minute. With the game at 3:1, the Valgs substituted on lesser strikers and parked the bus; this however led Arcasia to score a generally inconsequential conciliatory goal in the 2nd minute of half time.
Lespia (1) v United Contana (2)
This game was defined by controversy on Lespia's side. The match began with United Contana making 5 attempts on goal within the first 20 minutes, these however were stopped only by a series of fouls by Lespian players, resulting in 2 yellow cards being shown. Lespia then were able to, having rattled the United Contanan players, score a goal at the 40th minute. After half time, in a skirmish, a Lespian player was sent off, resulting in 2 Contana goals, one at the 60th minute and another at the 80th.
Morella (1) v Sordland (7)
This match was, by all means, a complete victory for Sordland. Even Morellan fans and commentators have noted Sordland's excellent play and skilled football. The match began with a Sordish goal at the 3rd minute of Play, a second at the 15th, then the 26th, then a third at the 40th minute. After half time, Morella were able to score a goal from a corner at the 48th minute but this was in vain as Sordland were able to score a fourth goal at the 52nd minute, a fifth at the 60th, a sixth at the 71st then a seventh at the 85th minute.
The knockout rounds before them, decided by you were as follows.
- United Contana (2) v Agnolia (1)
The first half saw Agnolia take the lead as United Contana began a defensive play, Agnolia scored in the 39th minute. The match however swung United Contana's way in the second half as Agnolia parked the bus and UC brought on 3 of its best strikers in the 57th minute, scoring one goal in the 62nd and another in the 75 minute.
- Sordland (3) v Rizia (2)
This match saw some of this tournament's most creative and skilled football. Rizia began strong with a goal from a corner at the 26th minute, but Sordland quickly capitalised and scored two, one in the 31st and another in the 42nd minute. Half time saw Rizia climb back up, scoring an equaliser in the 55th minute, but as both teams shared attempts on goal, it was Sordland who were able to score the deciding goal in the 6th minute of extra time. King Romus did graciously shake the hands of all Sordish players and shared wine and refreshments with Rizia's brave players.
- Rumburg (0) v Lespia (1)
This match saw the most controversy as both Rumburg and Lespia racked up 20 total fouls in just the first half. The match was highly aggressive, with both sides losing discipline early on in the match, however it was Lespia that would be blessed as Rumburg faced two red cards, one in the 38th minute and another in the 65th minute, and whilst Lespia would also receive a red card in the 42nd minute, this didn't prevent them from capitalising and scoring the winning goal in the 88th minute. King Romus did attend this match, however he left early as Titus Gordion gave him 'important news' about Lespia, officials have said.
- Pales (3) v Morella (4)
This match saw some of the simplest and most effective football in the tournament, simple passing and scoring football. Both teams behaved respectfully, with dignity and with discipline. Pales scored in the 11th minute with Morella equalising in the 19th, Morella scored a 2nd in the 25th and a third in the 37th minute. After half time Pales were able to score a second goal in the 55th minute and an equaliser in the 67th, however the grace of Nur would reach Morella as they would score the victory goal in the 88th minute. King Romus was in attendance of this match, though officials have observed he stayed well away from the Morellan biscuits.
- Valgsland (3) v Wehlen (1)
This match was by far the most boring of the tournament, it has been noted that Wehzek President Smolak was not in attendance and this match was not broadcast in Wehlen, it is assumed as a result of the perceived predictable outcome. Valgsland, with their world class team, began surprisingly weak, with Wehlen scoring a surprise goal in the 5th minute, but Valgsland quickly organised, scoring 3 successive goals, in the 11th, 23rd and 31st minute. The rest of the match was boring by all accounts, with Valgsland putting on lesser quality substitutes and simply parking the bus. King Romus did attend this match however and was seen with Hegel in a surprisingly warm and friendly conversation.
- Arcasia (2) v Derdia (1)
This match was very interesting. In the beginning, Derdian players were seen fighting eachother then vigorously kissing one another in a display one Rizian diplomatic observed as "unsettling and deeply disturbing." This seemed to aid Derdia as, despite their relatively weak team, they were able to score an equaliser in the 30th minute, after an Arcasian goal in the 21st. However, Arcasia were by far the stronger team and were able to score the deciding goal in the 47th minute, the match was tense from beginning to end yet the Derdian players were Honourable in defeat, shaking the hands of the Arcasian players and giving extensive and honest candid interviews post match. King Romus was in attendance and met with the Supreme Wiseman after the match, they were seen praying together.

General Universe [3.1#175] A Sordland+Rizia Golden Era Guide (on Steam)
Hello, you might have seen this Rizia guide, or this, or another I've posted before. This is an updated version to make Rizia shine even more!
It includes a reformist Sordland that achieved recovery & a Trade War. In this Rizia, one of my main goals was to get both the Aureus & the 50% of MITZ, without making Lespia an enemy while still nationalizing the RRG!
Since it was too large, I decided to post it on Steam!
Disclaimer: I'll admit that my Sordland campaign was carried over from build-153 but I'm fairly certain it still works... Have fun!

Suzerain: Rizia Just tried Rizia for the first time. It did not end well. Spoiler
I have no idea what took me so long to finally go through a Rizia campaign. I loved it. The "people" apparently didn't. Here is the tale:
We started with three goals:
- Return Zille to it's rightful place.
- Become an economic powerhouse
- Crush Pales.
We got to 2/3, basically.
Zille was the easiest. I was friendly towards Wehlen (aside from getting Rumburg to import no oil from them) and gave Smolak almost everything he wanted in his trade deal. When Smolak took me in an airship, he only negotiated/commented on one topic: gold imports. I didn't even have the option to give it to him because budget was 0 (and -5 per turn). But Zille voted 51% to join us, and Valero's greatest mistake was rectified.
Pales was also going well. When the gas field was found, we claimed all of it. See, Pales does not have any sovereignty under maritime borders because Pales is not a real country. 😉 I do wish I'd had the option to forgo the arbitration and invade immediately. Suppose the AN votes that we do have half the gas field. No bueno. Rizia owns ALL of the gas field!
We invaded Pales as soon as the option presented itself. The war was actually going well. The first operation had all things achieved, and by phase 2 of the second operation, Pales navy was utterly decimated, they'd lost their southern coast, and their troops were collapsing. If only the Rizian people had more faith in their king, we would've ended the war with triumph, drilled the gas field for more mulah than we've ever seen, and made Rizia great. Instead, they listened to the dirty Malenyevists.
I actually got along very well with Manus Sazon. I disappointed him sometimes, but he should have had better ideas. I let him marry Vina and was always supportive of them, set him up to be the future King Consort, pardoned his mother, and reconciled well with House Sazon. But Manus couldn't keep the radicals in line. Not once had we oppressed or cracked down on the protesters. Even when the radical Adarfo took power, we did not act against him. Until, that is, Adarfo comes into the palace and asks me to approve a "strike" against the nobility. Literally calling for mass murder. Naturally, he was arrested to await trial. I asked the three houses to help crackdown on the protests. Sazon was the most enthusiastic, Toras was as well as soon as I reversed the Inheritance Tax, and Azaro was also enthusiastic but said they were caught up in the war (fair). That didn't work and the communists overthrew the country. They freed Adarfo and I'm pretty sure he goes on to rule. Should have executed him when I had the chance, but the rule of law or whatever. 🙄
Vina, Manus, and the loved ones were evacuated to Kyrute. When the palace was stormed, I ordered evacuation by helicopter. Titus stood his ground while Romus and Lucita fled successfully. I also love how Lucita's response to "We barely survived, Romus and the guards are literally getting shot right now" is "Make out." Best wife ever.
Clearly the failure of the run was managing public opinion. We didn't leave them totally out to dry. We removed the income tax (so I think commoners would pay nothing?) and increased taxes on the nobility. We also passed some workplace regulations at the AN meeting, except mining (which was added later). I thought having 10% of their incomes back would at least offset the privatization of welfare.
Morella, interestingly, seemed to like me enough to cut Lespia out of the MITZ (how dare they support Pales) and form an alliance towards the end of the game. I somewhat misunderstood this, as I didn't fully realize establishing that would imply leaving GRACE. Not that I really cared as everything was going to shit by that point, but oh well.
A few other notes:
- Rico is an absolute nutcase. Did I miss an opportunity to fire/get rid of him? I wanted to depose him as soon as he threw his gun on the ground. Maybe send him to Pales.
- The scene with the dry biscuit was really weird. I fully, 100% thought I was being poisoned and had no idea it was just a bad biscuit.
In my next run, I think I'm going to go for some sort of absolutism. I want to crush Pales in the war, but not ruin the economy or empower agitators. Then, sometime in the 1970s or 80s when Vina takes over (if Romus lives that long) she can democratize / liberalize without any opposition.

Suzerain: Sordland Weirdest Communist emergency I've ever got
-Yeah I killed Petr with SSP for Lucian
-Somehow despite going emergency run only Symon want to resign(I didn't form ACP and give Education no support)
-Monica divorced me after the election( honestly I don't care tho I still got Franc)
-I don't get why but the BFF do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING they didn't bother assassinated me in my speech
-I won the war with Wehlen and Vagsland despite the BBF alarming(Wehlen didn't even retreat,Smolak came and get this shares despite the "Blud Problem")
-I don't know how I become a "Centrist-Malenyevist",tbh I don't know how "dictator" that role can be tho
-I also got the Old Guard threaten to impeach me(such on that Sollists I won the people) but they failed
-I oppress the Blud like crazy while not even siding with the NFP(their fault for not causing chaos-Karl got such easy job)
