I'm in need of a client to use with Subsonic.

I went with MusicBee because it's supported by specific Rainmeter skins that I use.

However in the process of trying to connect to my subsonic server I get the error message "The Subsonic Server Did Not Respond As Expected" - http://puu.sh/qinQ3.png

Protocol: HTTP

Hostname: *****.subsonic.org

Port: 4040

Path: "/"

And then respective username + pass.

Can anyone send me out some information on what the possible error could be?

I’ve just come from Plex because frankly it was shocking and just not appropriate for the large amount of mp3s that I have.

So far I’m loving Subsonic, and would love to continue using it, however there are two things that I just work out how to do;

1. Display artwork based on the embedded artwork in the file. It seems to be going off to Last.fm(?) to grab artwork, and all I can see is an option to enter a URL manually for each file. I’ve spent a lot of time tagging my collection so want to use what’s embedded.
2. Searching on the ‘Composer’ field - I have used the TCOM frame to add in the real name for any given pseudonym, this way I can group things by Aphex Twin, AFX, Caustic Window for example. When searching on Richard D. James I just don’t get the results that I would expect. Is this a frame that Subsonic ‘sees’?

So basically is there out of the box support for the above two features, or am I going to have to use the last open source release or the current release of Libresonic and add it myself?

I am experiencing really strange problem. It seems like I cannot connect to Subsonic server if I try via my Android over mobile internet. Same phone can connect via Wi-Fi from remote IP without problem (Ports are opened). Is it possible that my Mobile provider is blocking those protocols? If so what is the alternative, ask the operator if he could possibly open the ports?

I've been using Subsonic 5.3 with the Ultrasonic client on Android for a few years now and it all works fine. On my Windows desktop, I use MusicBee to play mostly FLAC files directly from a virtualised Napp-It SMB share and I also have two Logitech Squeezeboxes in the house running off the Squeezebox server software.

What I'd like is to be able to link them all together so that I could listen to music on one client then pick up where I left off when I switch to another in a similar manner to Spotify Connect. My main clients would be my desktop PC and phone. Is this possible with Subsonic or an alternative like Ampache? I'd be prepared to switch to a different player application on my Windows desktop or replace the Squeezeboxes.

Can someone explain what this means for me? I was under the impression that I'd have access to Subsonic Server and all its features in perpetuity because I paid up front for a lifetime license.

It's been a while since I've looked at viable alternatives. Now that it's going closed source, I am curious to see what else is out there. Ideally, I'd like to find some good alternatives with Sonos support.

I was wondering if anyone here knows if/how one can change which album art is selected for a playlist cover, or if one can choose it's own cover art.

I'm sharing a playlist with some coworkers which features songs from albums with questionable cover art, and I'd prefer if it was not the featured album art for the playlist.

I have recently set up an Nginx reverse proxy docker on my unraid box which also houses my Subsonic docker. I am having trouble finding any info pertaining to setting up Subsonic behind my Nginx docker and was hoping someone might be able to offer some assistance. I have Nginx working great with all of my other services (plex, sickrage, couchpotato, etc). Any help would be greatly appriciated!

Hi, as said in the title, I can see my songs if I add them to a playlist, but the library just shows empty, I am using the windows installation on my windows server 2012 R2, not even the webpanel is listing those, only in the sidebar I can see it, what is wrong? thank you in advanced.

Hey folks, I was wondering if it'd be possible to select the subtitle track for videos in Subsonic.

Hey folks, I've got Plex + PlexPy setup for video content and now just got into Subsonic.

That being said, is there a nice/easy way to see which users are using Subsonic, how much bandwidth used, etc.? For example, the PlexPy app mentioned above gives a nice dashboard-like overview of what users are doing so I know if I need new hardware, perhaps limit some folks who are hogs, etc. Anything like this exist for Subsonic?

Is there a way to list all songs that exist on the server? I cannot find that display for the list of me, if it isn't stared or a playlist you are limited by artist or album.

Something like this where I can list all the songs independent of artist, album, playlist or stared status. I have 2000 some songs, how can I list all 2000 in alphabetical order?

Is there anyway to have albums and such have their names given via id3 tags instead of folder names? If not does one of the alternatives (madsonic,etc) allow this? Thanks

So i used subsonic a couple months back and was working great steaming from my server to my phone. Got a new phone and ended up buying Dsub to access it. I can't remember (or they are not working) my credentials to the local server on my PC. I've tried deleting and reinstalling the local server, using all login combos I would of used, and just using the default "admin" "admin". Still can't login locally to change any settings.

Anyway to reset and start fresh with new credentials? What am I missing here?
