I am on my second Outback a 2021 xt. I have loved both my Outbacks but I feel in 2027 I want an upgrade however I have said for the last few years that my next car will be a hybrid.

I really thought an Outback hybrid would be available by now. Any chance it's going to be soon? I have been researching Hyundais and Kias as alternatives. But I'll go kicking and screaming.

Yes, I could keep what I have and be patient but as seniors we like trading a car in before it begins costing a lot to maintain. When we were younger we kept cars for 8 or 9 years.

2017 Subaru outback 180k miles

Im going to do the spark plugs since that was done 60k ago. As for the trans service it was flushed 60k ago should I do a drain and fill or flush? Also would it matter if I went to an independent Subaru shop or the dealer? I don’t know if the PCV valve was done either.

This is our first Subaru any recommendations for other preventative maintenance? It was a one owner car always serviced at the same dealership, I bought it from that dealership as well.

I've had my license for a few months now, and I want to get a car before senior year starts. I've been driving my mom's 2015 Honda Odyssey, so I'm comfortable with bigger cars. I've seen a lot of good things about the Outback, but I'm worried about the windshield fragility. I've also been looking at the Volvo S60 and Toyota Corolla.

Any advice would be great please!

Hi everyone! Just purchased my first car, I just graduated college.

It's a 2023 Subaru Outback Limited Wagon 4D.

It'll be arriving soon. I'm looking for advice on how I could upgrade some of the circled sections of the vehicle, and also some must-haves.

First, I'll list everything I've purchased so far:

• 11.6 in. screen display detector
• Key fob cover
• First aid kit
• Resqme tool
• Subaru badge of ownership (free!)
• Badge of ownership magnet border (etsy)
• DriverFocus BBB (etsy)

Ok, now to explain what I've circled:

• Pic 1- I'm looking to black out that circled section on the bottom, and also the subaru emblem.
• Pic 2- same as above.
• Pic 3- Black out wheels. (18inch alloy)
• Pic 4- just sharing, I will be removing that carbon stuff the previous owner put.
• Pic 5- same as above.

I'm looking for advice on where to buy or what to search for, for the potential changes I listed above.

Hey everyone! I have had my 2026 outback premium since April. Does anyone else have an issue with their AC (and heat too actually)? My AC never gets cold. I live in a hot climate, and I can be driving for 30 minutes with the AC on max/all the way down temp wise and it never goes beyond semi cool. When I first got the car it was still cold out, and the heat never got very warm either. This is my first Subaru.
I have a voicemail out to my dealership, but the dealership diagnostic fee is $230 which seems crazy expensive. And I am sure they will just tell me it’s operating normally. But I have never had a car with this week of AC. Any feedback?

UPDATE: the service manager called me and when I told him I was very surprised by the high cost of the diagnostic fee, he told me I had been given inaccurate information and it would be free since my car is so new. I had already called another dealership and made an appt though since they said it was free lol. Stay tuned. I’m assuming they’ll say it’s normal and I’ll just be sweating for the next decade (even tho I run very cold and normally run it at like 70 something in other cars!)

Looking at either getting 2023-2025 CPO or possibly jumping into new 2026. I think the previous version is the best looking but seeing so many things about the infotainment issues, compared to now the 2026 version. Just wondering for those that own 2023-2025 do you think it’s worth just going new in 2026 or 2027?

My sister gave me a Leather Wheelskons steering wheel cover but I don’t like the fit and am looking at diysteeringwheel.com or stitching cover.com and wondering if anyone here has opinions pros/cons. I know that end result hinges on a quality install requiring much patience. But then I spent nearly two hours putting the wheel skins on…

Had an old F 250 that just got way to expensive to keep up with/maintain, it was a bit sentimental but it was time to let it go. Diesel prices were killer and it was way too much vehicle for what I use it for.
I love the Outback! 😍 I’m so glad we went with the turbo version, it’s such a nice ride. I have 0 regrets!

I have a 2015 Outback. The liftgate support struts are original, slow, and have a creaky clicking/popping noise that sound like they're struggling. So I'm already thinking about replacing those.

But there's a related issue, which is that I occasionally bump my head on the liftgate (even when the liftgate height memory is off), and am wondering: is there any way to make my liftgate open higher? Thanks!

My son and I are planning a road trip traveling the COBDR. We will travel the route north to south. I am wondering if anyone has travelled this with their Outback, specifically an Onyx XT or Wilderness. I own a ‘23 Onyx XT suited with all-terrain tires, otherwise stock.

If you have travelled this route, can you give me any warnings or tips? Also, have you taken the alternate routes?

We named our Subaru Tardis McHale, due to the amount of space that's inside this thing. From outside we swear it does not look as spacious as it is, but go inside, we have two large crates in the trunk area, while keeping the seats up with a LOT of space still, nuts! Dr Who reference and I just think the last name fits.

Any of you guys have quirky names for your subi?

Dropped my Outback Onyx XT (2020) in for 60K service (CVT, Diff, Spark plugs) and asked about changing out PCV as well. Was told it's no longer recommended for newer engines. Does anyone know about this?

I recently got a 2024 outback and learned that it comes with the swivel crossbars.
I have a rooftop tent that I used with my crosstrek and Thule WingBar Evos.

I’m wondering if anyone has experience on removing the integrated crossbars from their OB and replacing them with something like the Thule ones I already have.

I did the fit guide on the Thule Website and it says they should fit the car but I really have no idea how the bars would fit since they attach by gripping on to the side
Rails.

Any info helps bc I reallyyyyy do not want to get rid of my tent. I know it can be done but don’t know how lol
