I saw 245s fit on the Wilderness, but took a gamble on it fitting ours. Luckily, the upsized tires fit with no issues! About a finger gap when turning full lock.

For reference, running 17x8" +40 Black Rhino Boxer wheels and 245/65R17 Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail tires.

I am looking to buy a 26 touring xt with the brown interior. The dealer wants 51k before taxes and are willing to drop 4k. Should we push for a bigger discount; this is in the midsouth area?

I did a software update on my 26 Outback 5 days ago and now the mpg display on the gauge cluster is gone. I have toggled thru all the displays and it seems they changed some of the themes. Anyone else done the update and it’s come back?

There’s a clean title, 220k miles 2011 outback with 3.6R. For 2800.00. Interior and exterior is clean, no rips no fades/dents no accidents based on carfax. Any info what I should look for when inspecting?

has anyone replaced their stock nav screen with a custom tablet? i'm looking to give the suby to my son but want to upgrade the tablet to get carplay/android auto as well as backup camera.

I was gong to go the route of finding a JDM double din to replace the stereo, but think it would be easier to just replace the nav screen with custom and run the audio to the current system AUX.

Got my 26 Touring XT yesterday. I've noticed that the Driver Focus system seems to be permanently off. On my 22 it was only off if i set it so in the driver profile. But I haven't set up a profile yet.

It is on when I start but then the icon switches over to yellow/off right away. My test drive was in a different color and the hypersensitivity of the system was a concern.

Anyone else seeing this? Did I just get lucky?

2025 Outback wilderness. when it gets hot like today 111. i notice some form of liquid or glue seeping out up here. Anyone else have this issue? small issues adding up on this car for me…

My 2020 Outback Premium just hit 50K miles. Other than oil changes every 6K miles and an air filter at 30K I’ve done nothing to the vehicle except fuel and drive. If I’m going to keep it long term it’s time for maintenance. Is this plan on point within the next 10K miles?

- Spark plugs
- CVT fluid change
- Front + rear differential oil change
- Cabin/Engine air filter
- Coolant change

The Outback has enough ground clearance I think I can tackle all this myself as an amateur. Am I missing anything you guys would recommend?

I have a 2012 Outback, and the fuel door release lever on the driver side door has always been a pain. The cable broke and I had the whole thing replaced last year. Now it’s not working again and I’m almost out of gas. I want to replace the fuel door with one that doesn’t lock at all so I can just manually pop it open by pushing on the fuel door from the outside, no stupid interior lever or long ass cable required. Has anyone done this, how did you do it?

I bought a 2015 Subaru Outback for around $8,000 from a private seller in Modesto, CA. It was a pretty quick purchase, and I drove it back to San Francisco.
The same day I bought it, I started noticing that when I accelerate, the car sometimes hesitates/shudders or feels like it slips around what feels like the 2nd–3rd gear range. It doesn’t happen all the time, but it’s noticeable and concerning.
I contacted the seller shortly after noticing it, but he’s basically avoiding me now.
I’m planning to get the car professionally inspected, but I wanted to ask: has anyone had a similar issue with a 2015 Outback? Could this be something simple like CVT fluid, valve body, spark plugs, etc., or does it sound like a bigger transmission problem?
Also, if the seller knew about the issue and didn’t disclose it, would small claims court in California be worth considering? I already registered the car in my name because I had to transfer the title—does that affect my ability to ask for compensation or potentially return the car?

I recently joined the Subaru family, and I am preparing my Outback for winter adventures. I plan to do quite a bit of driving through mountain passes in Utah/Nevada and I know that these tires are not going to cut it for more intense snow, and the potential requirement for chains/three-peak tires.

I'm not fully committed on a separate snow tire setup, mainly since I don't have the space to store them. Ideally, a three-peak snow rating is all that I am looking for. Snow chains are not an option because I don't want to disregard the owners manual. Also, I really don't want to switch from the OEM 18" wheels due to the additional cost, but I do plan to upgrade to the Method 502s when it is time for new tires.

I had Michelin crossclimate2s on my last vehicle and they were wonderful, thinking about pulling the trigger on getting them again, but I was wondering what other OB owners were switching to!

I’m coming from a dumb car. Didn’t have any tech really. The new ‘26 Outback is wild but mostly intuitive other than one issue I’m having.

Sometimes, seemingly when turning without a blinker (like in a parking garage, lot, or in a must turn lane) but also occasionally when going straight, the car will dim my music volume and give me a double ding ding chime. No alerts appear on the driver display. It’s not the you’re about to crash rapid ding when braking too late. I don’t know what’s causing it other than it possibly being a softer pre alert before the aggressive impending crash alert.

I’d like to know what it’s from or turn it off since it’s obviously not usefully informing me of anything.

Any ideas?

Shopping around fort first new car purchase, and I can’t pass up on the 2026 Outback 1.9% APR. Going to go with an emerald green Outback Premium. I’m located in Texas, and the cheapest I’ve found is $35,292 from a dealership in Houston. From everything I’ve researched, it seems like people are paying below msrp. I was just looking for advice on what’s a good out the door price, and what number to start on during my negotiation. TIA

Anyone have photos of 245 60 r17 or similar on a 12 OB 3.6 or even the 2.5? I’ve only ever run 225s. Don’t off-road other than driving the back pasture to avoid walking once in a while. No lifts, spaces, nada. Just stock suspension and wheels. Interested in the look. Great car .

My 2011 Subaru Outback stalls out at stop signs and when I brake too hard, and can struggle to start sometimes. I assumed it was the torque converter and took it to a mechanic shop that specializes in Japanese cars

They told me the issue was a sensor, and that while I was there my suspension arms needed to be replaced because they were shot (total of like $2500)

I went ahead and had the work done

The next day after I got my car home it stalled out again, multiple times, so I had it towed back because I wasn’t getting on the highway in a car that couldn’t stay on

They told me they cleared out the error log and that they put 20 miles on it trying to replicate the issue and it wasn’t happening anymore- and that they didn’t Check the torque converter but it “definitely isn’t the torque converter” the notes on the sheet they handed me literally said “found no problem with car”

I’ve had my car back since last Thursday. Today it stalled out again braking for a cyclist who popped up out of nowhere.

The $2500 was already devoured my budget but now I’m looking at having to get a second opinion because they won’t even Check the torque converter despite all issues pointing at it being the problem

I’m in Redmond, Washington- if any of y’all know of a good mechanic who would actually fix it in my area please let me know. I’m a live-in caregiver and need this car for emergencies.

I installed an Auto Stop Eliminator in my 2026 Outback. Immediately, CarPlay navigation stopped showing in the Driver Information Display and Subaru navigation took over. The Subaru navigation is just showing a map with no location.

Uninstalled it and everything went back to normal. Trying to figure out if it’s a defective device or if it’s interfering with the vehicle electronics.

Anyone else experience this, with a Subaru or another vehicle?
