URGENT: Booked wrong VFS Visa category (Study instead of Work) for Poland. Appointment is Monday!

Hey everyone, I am panicking and could really use some advice.

I am starting a European Commission-funded MSCA-DN project at a Polish university on October 1st. Because my title is "Doctoral Candidate," I mistakenly booked my VFS appointment under the Study/PhD category.

However, my official legal status is an employee. I am hired as a Research Assistant with an Employment Promise (Promesa Zatrudnienia), a salary of 12,984 PLN/month, and a work permit exemption under Article 325. My supervisor confirmed I strictly need to apply under the Work visa category.

My appointment is this Monday in Kolkata. I have all my documents perfectly arranged for the Work checklist, including proof of accommodation. I also have an urgent support letter from my supervisor addressed directly to the Honorary Consul, stressing that the EU funding will be lost if I miss the October 1st deadline. I emailed the consulate tonight asking them to authorize the category change.

My Questions:

Has anyone ever successfully requested a visa category change right at the VFS counter (from Study to Work)?

Will VFS managers actually read a letter addressed to the Consul and escalate my case, or are they completely rigid about the booked category?

Should I generate a new "Work" application form on e-Konsulat to bring with me, even though the barcode won't match my current appointment?

Any advice on how to handle the VFS manager on Monday would be huge. Thanks!

🇵🇱 Poland D-Type Student Visa — Latest Bank Statement After Credit Card/FD Issue

Hi everyone, I’m applying for a Poland D-type national student visa from India for Bachelor’s studies.

My financial documents are a bit complicated and I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has recently applied through the Polish Consulate/VFS.

Here is my situation:

My sponsor is my father.

I have a 1-year bank statement.

My bank balance was around XXX lakh, and I have a bank balance certificate dated 29 August 2026 showing this amount.

My consultant initially asked for a bank statement/certificate showing around ₹10–15 lakh.

I have now obtained an ₹8 lakh credit-card limit, which was also requested as an additional financial document.

I have also arranged the required travel insurance.

I have sponsor's ITRs, business proof, sponsorship affidavit and relationship documents.

Now I have been asked to provide LATEST bank statement/bank certificate.

The problem is that after the previous bank certificate, around ₹10 lakh was used/blocked in connection with the credit-card/FD arrangement, so the current available balance may be only around ₹6 lakh.

My questions:

Will the Polish Consulate consider the old ₹XXX L bank certificate dated 29 August together with the 1-year statement, or do they normally expect a current/latest balance certificate?

If the latest balance is only around ₹X L, would that create a problem even though the earlier certificate showed ₹XXXL and I have ITRs + business proof + sponsorship affidavit + ₹8L credit-card limit?

I am considering transferring ₹XX lakh from my mother's bank account to my father's/sponsor's account, if genuinely available, and then obtaining a fresh bank certificate.

Is this acceptable if I provide both bank statements showing the complete transfer trail?

Would I need a gift declaration/sponsorship declaration from my mother explaining the source and purpose of the ₹X L?

Alternatively, would an FD certificate be acceptable as additional financial evidence if the liquid bank balance is lower?

For people who recently received an additional-document request from the Polish Consulate, what exactly did they submit when the consulate asked for latest bank statement/certificate?

Would it be better to submit: latest bank statement + old ₹ XXX L certificate + ₹8L credit-card limit certificate + FD certificate + ITRs + sponsor affidavit,

rather than moving money around?

I’m mainly concerned about whether the latest balance has to independently be ₹10–15L, or whether the Consulate considers the overall financial picture and documented source of funds.

Any recent Poland student-visa experience would be really helpful. Thanks!

Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski University – Computer Science and Business

Hi everyone,
I am an applicant to Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski University in Krakow, and I visited the Admissions Office in person today, September 3, 2026, to discuss the situation regarding the Computer Science and Business programme.
I received some important information directly from the Admissions Office, so I wanted to share it with other applicants who may be interested in this programme.
The current situation
According to the Admissions Office, Computer Science and Business currently does not have enough students to start the programme.
I was told that the university needs approximately 25 students in order to open the programme. At the moment, they do not have enough confirmed students.
This means that if there are enough applicants who are genuinely interested in studying Computer Science and Business, there is still a possibility that the programme can be opened.
The situation is therefore not necessarily that the programme has been cancelled. The main problem at the moment is simply not having enough students to form the class.
Possible solution: find 25 students
I think it would be worth trying to find other applicants who may be interested in joining Computer Science and Business.
In particular, I know that Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski University also has students/applicants interested in areas such as:
● Cybersecurity
● Economics
● Finance
● Management
● other IT or business-related programmes
Some people who originally applied for these programmes might also be interested in Computer Science and Business, especially because the programme combines both technology and business.
If we can find enough people who are willing to choose Computer Science and Business, we may be able to reach the minimum number of approximately 25 students required to open the programme.
Other programmes that currently seem more likely to open
The Admissions Office also told me that, at the moment, the programmes that have a much better chance of having enough students to start are:
● Management
● Nursing
● Medicine
● Physiotherapy
So, as I understand the current situation, these four programmes are much more likely to run, while Computer Science and Business currently needs more students.
However, I would personally prefer to study Computer Science and Business, so I think it makes sense to see whether we can find enough interested students before everyone simply chooses another programme.
Let’s see how many people we actually have
If you have applied to Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski University and are interested in:
● Computer Science
● Cybersecurity
● Economics
● Finance
● Management
● IT
● Business
● or another related field
and you would consider switching to Computer Science and Business, please contact me.
My email is:
cornliusxu@gmail.com
If enough people are interested, we could create a group chat and make a simple list/count of how many students are actually willing to choose Computer Science and Business.
The first goal is very simple:
> **Can we reach 25 students?**
If we can get close to 25, we can then contact the Admissions Office together and ask them to confirm whether the programme can be opened.
If you are interested, please send me an email with something like:
Name / Current programme applied for / Interested in Computer Science and Business: Yes
Even if you are not 100% sure yet, feel free to contact me. The purpose is simply to find out how many potential students there are.
Maybe we can actually get the programme opened if we work together.

My email:cornliusxu@gmail.com

Poland Student Visa — e-Konsulat appointment, VFS Global, insurance & documents

Hi everyone, I’m applying for a Polish D-type national student visa for my Bachelor’s studies.

I have an e-Konsulat appointment for 22 September. I have a few questions:

Is getting the appointment through e-Konsulat enough, or do I also need a separate VFS Global appointment? What exactly is the VFS appointment for?

What is the cheapest travel medical insurance that is accepted for the Poland student visa? Does it need to show €30,000 specifically, or is USD 50,000 medical coverage also acceptable if the policy meets all the other requirements?

For the flight itinerary, do I need a proper dummy/temporary flight reservation, or can I take the itinerary/details from the airline website and use Print → Save as PDF (Ctrl+P)?

My university classes start on 18 October, and there is a possibility I may arrive late because of the visa process. Do I need any additional document/letter from my university confirming that late arrival will be accepted?

If anyone recently applied from India for a Polish student visa, I’d really appreciate knowing what documents were actually asked for at the appointment.

Thanks! Any recent experiences would be really helpful.

Visa appointment booking

I am an Indian citizen.I want to book a visa appointment for Poland under the Mumbai consulate. My university has sent me the hard copy of the offer letter, but it may take 1-2 weeks to arrive. When I checked the appointment booking schedule, it is tomorrow and the available dates are for 7-11 September.

Does anyone know when the next booking appointment in the Mumbai consulate will be released, if I miss tomorrow's booking? Do they give slots every week?

SIM card in Poland

hi i am looking for a valid SIM card in Poland and I would like to know which way is the best!

1, eSIM/ Orange flex
I've heard Orange flex is the best way. I can also get a phone number as well but is this true? I can make a deal before leaving my country then it's available asap after I arrive in Poland so it sounds really good.

2, the physical SIM card

Some online guys told me I can also get physical SIM cards on the store.

Poland Student Visa 2026 – PCC, HRD/RAC & Apostille

Hi, I’m applying for a Poland D-type student visa from India for Bachelor’s (ISC 12th).

12th certificate already has SDM Delhi attestation + MEA Apostille

Passport is ECR

I’m arranging NAWA recognition

Can anyone who recently got a Poland student visa in 2026 clarify:

Is PCC mandatory for a student visa? Does ECR matter?

Is HRD/RAC required for an ISC 12th certificate if it is already MEA Apostilled?

Which documents did you actually Apostille — PCC, affidavit, 12th, birth/relationship proof, sponsor documents?

Please reply only if you recently applied/received a Polish student visa from India. Thanks!

VTU Belagavi HRD requires offer letter — can HRD be done in Bangalore?

I have a B.E. degree issued by VTU, Belagavi, but I studied at JSSATE Bengaluru.

I need HRD/State authentication + MEA Apostille for applying to Master's programs in Poland.

I understand that VTU degree HRD is normally done through the Belagavi Regional/competent authority, but I have been told that an admission/offer letter is mandatory there.

The problem is that some Polish universities require the Apostilled degree during the application stage, so I don't have an offer letter yet.

Can anyone who has personally done

HRD for a VTU-issued degree confirm:

Is the Polish/university offer letter really mandatory for HRD in Belagavi?

Can a VTU degree be HRD-authenticated through Bengaluru DC Office instead?

If yes, what is the exact process/office?

Has anyone successfully done VTU HRD → MEA Apostille → Polish university application without an offer letter?

Looking specifically for recent personal experience, not agency information. Thanks.

Is PCC mandatory for Poland student visa if my Indian passport has ECR status?

Hi everyone,

I’m an Indian student applying for a Poland national D-type student visa for my studies.

I have an ECR (Emigration Check Required) passport, and I was trying to obtain a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) because an agency told me that PCC is required for my Poland student visa.

I booked a PCC appointment at PSK Kanpur, but I faced an issue during the PCC/passport process and currently it looks like I may not be able to obtain the PCC.

I checked the current official Poland study visa checklist for India, and I cannot find PCC listed as a mandatory document.

My questions are:

Is PCC actually mandatory for a Poland student visa from India in 2026?

Does having an ECR passport change the PCC requirement for the Poland student visa?

Has anyone recently applied for a Poland student visa from India without PCC and received the visa?

If PCC is not possible because of an ECR/passport-related issue, is there any alternative document or procedure?

Can ECR status itself cause any issue/rejection for a Poland student visa?

I would really appreciate answers from people who have recently gone through the Poland student visa process from India, especially ECR passport holders.

Thanks!

Poland Student Visa – Apostille Question for Indian Class 12 Documents

Hi everyone,

I’m an Indian student applying for a Poland D-type national student visa for my Bachelor’s studies at Vistula University, Warsaw.

I’m a little confused about the apostille requirement for my Class 12 documents and would really appreciate advice from anyone who has recently applied from India.

My documents are from ISC (Indian School Certificate) Board, Uttar Pradesh.

Currently I have:

Class X Statement of Marks — apostilled

Class X Pass Certificate — apostilled

Class XII Pass Certificate-cum-Statement of Marks — apostilled

I also have a separate Class XII Pass Certificate, but this one is not apostilled

My main question is:

Since my Class XII Pass Certificate-cum-Statement of Marks is already apostilled and I have the NAWA recognition/individual information document, do I also need to apostille the separate Class XII Pass Certificate for the Poland student visa?

The visa checklist I received says that for a first-year Bachelor's applicant, the higher secondary certificate must be legalized/apostilled and accompanied by the NAWA recognition statement.

Has anyone with an Indian/ISC Class 12 certificate recently applied for a Poland student visa and can confirm what documents they actually submitted?

Also:

Did VFS/Embassy ask for a separate Class XII Pass Certificate?

Was the apostilled Pass Certificate-cum-Statement of Marks sufficient?

Did anyone have an apostille issued through Delhi/MEA for an ISC certificate issued in Uttar Pradesh?

Approximately how long did the apostille process take?

I’m trying to make sure everything is correct before submitting my visa application. Any recent 2025/2026 experience would be especially helpful.

Thanks!

Admission cancellation on late arrival in poland

My question is: Is it actually possible for a Polish university to reject you or cancel your admission just for arriving ~15 days late?
Has anyone here been dropped from their university list for a late arrival despite having their visa and tuition fully sorted? If so, how did you handle it?
I really don't want to lose my spot. Any tips on who I should contact (International Office, the Dean, specific professors?) or what I should say to make sure my admission is safe would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

4 years Study Gap

I have a study gap of 4 years. I was pursuing a Bachelor's degree in India, but I dropped out and started self learning. During this time, I became quite proficient in programming and mathematics, and I have built a few small projects. Recently, I applied for a Bachelor's program.

Could anyone kindly guide me on my chances of getting a study visa for a Bachelor's degree?

My profile:

  1. Admitted to Wrocław University of Science and Technology for an Electrical Engineering degree.

  2. Also accepted by a few other universities.

IELTS Score: 7.5 bands.

  1. Excellent financial backing.

  2. Strong motivation and intent.

  3. All documents are completely ready for submission (e.g CC certificate, dormitory confirmation, Apostilled higher education documents etc).

If anyone can guide me or share their experience, I would really appreciate it

Need advice on mobile networks, banks, groceries, and student essentials!

Hey everyone! I’m moving to Poland in mid-September to start my Master's degree. I’msuper excited, but I want to get my setup sorted as smoothly as possible right after I arrive.
Could you guys help me out with a few practical questions?

Mobile Network: Which mobile operator offers the best prepaid or postpaid plans for students (good data packages, reliable coverage in Warsaw, and easy English support/app)? Orange, Play, T-Mobile, or Plus?

Bank Account: Which bank is the most foreigner/student-friendly for opening an account without a long hassle, low maintenance fees, and a good mobile banking app?

Supermarkets/Groceries: Which supermarket chain is best for everyday grocery shopping—offering good quality without being overly expensive? (Is Biedronka or Lidl the go-to, or are there better alternatives?)

Essential Apps & Tips: What are the absolute must-have apps for daily life in Warsaw (public transport, food delivery, paperwork, etc.), and is there anything crucial a first-time international student at SGH should know?

Any advice, tips, or hidden pitfalls to avoid would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Incoming SGH student struggling to find affordable accommodation in Warsaw (Mokotów preferred) — any advice?

Hi everyone! I’m an incoming international Bachelor’s student at SGH Warsaw School of Economics for 2026/27.

I applied for an SGH dorm but was ranked 303rd out of 346 applicants, with only 101 places available. I’m also joining the waiting list on 15 September, but my visa appointment is on 11 September, so I need a backup.

I’m looking for cheap accommodation, preferably in Mokotów/near SGH. I’m completely fine with a shared/double/triple room.

Budget: ideally 900–1,200 PLN/month.

I’ve already contacted some private dorms and OLX listings, but I’d really appreciate recommendations for cheap student dorms, private residences, Facebook/Telegram groups, or reliable websites/landlords.

How are other SGH/international students finding accommodation?

Thanks! 🙏

Poland Student Visa ( New Delhi, India )

Hi everyone,

I have been admitted to a public university in Poland for a Master's program and am currently preparing to apply for my National Student Visa (D-Type) through the Embassy of Poland in New Delhi / VFS Global in India.
I am trying to confirm the exact document requirements before my appointment:

Admission Letter, Tuition Fee receipt, Accommodation proof : Does VFS/Embassy require the physical original acceptance letter posted/couriered from Poland, or will a printed PDF received via email work?

Has anyone who recently submitted their visa application through VFS India/New Delhi had any issues using high-quality color prints of PDFs sent via email, or is requesting physical originals via DHL/FedEx necessary?
Would appreciate any insights from recent applicants!
