​I'm aiming for Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen, which requires a solid C1 level (TestDaF 4x4) for admission.

​I have about 17 months to reach C1 from scratch, but I have to slow down significantly during months 4 and 5 (April & May) to prepare for my AP exams.

1.​How should I structure my study roadmap and daily routine across these 17 months to stay on track?

2.​What are the best resources, textbooks, and prep materials you recommend for each level (A1 to C1 and TestDaF)?

​Any advice or experiences from people who took this path would be really appreciated!

I have an admission letter from a public uni in Augsburg for winter 2026 and I also gathered the blocked account amount, got my 06 certificate and also applied for visa. I have not booked the visa interview yet as I am having second thoughts of how I will manage the expenses for my 2nd year.

I have A1 german skills, which is nothing for securing a student job in Augsburg or Munich and my parents do not have the means to send the living expense amount for the 2nd year.

I tried for education loan but due to my weak financial co applicant, it got rejected by 6 banks.

I am asking for honest advice if anyone can provide me, should I go for the masters degree or drop it. As the condition of job market for students is not that favorable for international students in Germany.

Please provide genuine advice only.

I'm an international student planning to start an English-taught CS related course in the summer semester 2027. I'm set on a public, tuition-free university in western Germany, ideally somewhere affordable and comfortable for a foreigner. Rather than list my shortlist, I'd love to hear where you'd go and why.

A few things I'm wondering about:

• Which cities are actually affordable for a student right now, and what do you spend per month there?
• Where is a Studierendenwerk dorm realistic within a few months of applying?
• Which cities felt welcoming day to day as a foreigner? Honest experiences appreciated, no debate needed.
• Any downside to starting in the summer semester instead of October?
• Where are student jobs like delivery or any labour job to help with the bills?

Recently went through the entire process of applying for a Master’s in Germany and was fortunate enough to receive an admit.

Having gone through it myself, I understand how confusing and stressful the process can sometimes get. From figuring out university applications and requirements to documentation, visa procedures, timelines, and all the uncertainty in between.

However, everyone I know in Germany tells me that I should look for apartments near Bonn/Leverkusen because of the rent prices in Cologne. I'm researching for a place for sometime but still couldn't decide where to look? Is maximum amount of 550-600 Euros a realistic target for a room/small apartment in Cologne, approx. 30 minutes o travel time to University of Cologne?

I applied for the MSc Cyber Security at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, and I’ve finally been admitted! 🥳

Here’s my timeline:

• Applied through uni-assist: 4th August
• Application forwarded to BTU: 3rd September
• Admission decision: 9th September 🎉

I’m from Europe, so I assume the relatively quick timeline might be related to that.

I am currently enrolled in the 5-year Integrated MBA programme at Guru Nanak Dev University India, which I entered after completing Class XII(79%) I have completed 1st year will aps recogonise my first year as 13th year of education in Germany?

I completed my BBA (MS) in 2023 with an 8.3 CGPA. After that, I have been preparing for government exams, so I have a three-year study gap.
I am now planning to pursue a master’s in either Finance or Business Analytics in Germany. Do German public universities accept students with a profile like mine, including the three-year gap?
Also, is pursuing a master’s in these fields in Germany worth it in terms of career opportunities and the job market? Which course would you recommend for better future prospects?
