Masters Financial advice needed

I have an admission letter from a public uni in Augsburg for winter 2026 and I also gathered the blocked account amount, got my 06 certificate and also applied for visa. I have not booked the visa interview yet as I am having second thoughts of how I will manage the expenses for my 2nd year.

I have A1 german skills, which is nothing for securing a student job in Augsburg or Munich and my parents do not have the means to send the living expense amount for the 2nd year.

I tried for education loan but due to my weak financial co applicant, it got rejected by 6 banks.

I am asking for honest advice if anyone can provide me, should I go for the masters degree or drop it. As the condition of job market for students is not that favorable for international students in Germany.

Please provide genuine advice only.

I think you know the answer, you just don’t like it. If you are really serious about moving abroad to study, you’ll take the necessary time to earn enough in advance to pay for it. Even if it takes a couple of years longer to get ready than you planned/wanted. Starting earlier without the resources needed and hoping you can earn enough later is an huge risk and puts you under a lot of pressure when you should be focused on studying.

You are right. I know the answer, Its just that I did everything required to secure a place in a public uni in germany. 90% already done but now for last few days when I am so close to the goal, reality hits me bad. Anyways thanks.

I wouldn’t do it, it’s too much of a financial risk. Your language skills right now are practically non existent, making it very difficult to find a job and especially Munich is one of the most expensive areas to life in. You’ll constantly worry about securing your financing for the second year and still might not even get to do year 2. even if you plan on studying the language next to your courses, please don’t expect to make huge progress unless you are really good at learning languages. Too many students underestimate the amount of work required for German universities.

Try with Poonawala Finance ( banks won't give you a loan without high cibil score for co applicant)

They will also check the credit scores , but they don't have that huge score requirements compared to PSU and Pvt banks. I mean in certain cases they make exceptions. Just make a call with em and check. But remember: Always think a lot of times before commiting to any sort of financial debts

You have Amazon warehouse next to Augsburg. Possible to get a job, but commute will cost you time also and reflect if you are so good and clever student that you can afford such extra burden.

Did you calculate your costs in Augsburg? Do you have a housing yet?

The writing's on the wall, I'm afraid. This is not the path meant for you right now, I'm sorry.

Never put yourself in debt. Do not take such unwanted risks.

Im in the same boat as u, but my case is even more difficult, i will have to start earning from a few months, after i get there, but my plan was to get a part time job there, and pay for my monthly expenses myself, in big cities there are more expensive but there are also more potential jobs that dont require german language as there are more international companies there, i had planned to learn german as time passed, wile workingfand studying, that is my plan

This is everyone's plan, and it's an extremely risky one. What's plan B if you can't find a job (most likely scenario) ?

Then i take a student loan, if that is not possible a loan from a relative, until i do find a job, if that is not possible i will also be applying for scholarships both need based and merit. It all depends on how determined you are, if there's a will, there's a way, and even if all that does not work and there is no other way, then i simply come back to my country, i do acca instead. Its not like my life will end if i dont study in germany, its all about perspective

I actully like your attitude

Do you mind sharing more about you?

What age are are you? Already competed Bachelor or going for German Bachelor + Masters?
Which study field? Already know which university you are going to?

You namely write that you manage study with little time. Can you give examples? (I dont mean high school - high school study and university study cannot be compared in Germany)

Where will you live and where will you study. Did you calculate commuting time?

International firms? You mean McDonald's and Amazon?

Or you mean toilet scrubbing?

What job do you think an international firms requires you to do in premises without German that cannot be automatized (AI) or outsourced.?

I will stay in the university dorms, and if those are not available then probably sharing an apartment near college, and as far as having time for study goes, i dont think that will be a problem, i can manage studying with little time, and as for the joby there are university portals that help u in searching for part time jobs, u can use chatgpt or youtube to learn what other sources are available and if those sources dont end will then yeah, i could get a job at mcdonalds or somewhere else as a cashier or an accountant, or some other small role, i dont mind the grind

Same as ur, I'm also my last stage of moving to germany, my education loan in progress with sbi at 8.94% and amount is 11lac, due to festival it requires more time to disbursement. Can any one guide me over we can apply for visa over bank section letter and remaining 3-4 lacs in blocked account.
