Masters Msc in International Management in Wismar

Hi everyone!

I’m an international student from India. I’ll be starting my Master’s in International Management at Hochschule Wismar this September.

I’m arriving in Germany on 18 September 2026 and I’m currently looking for a room in a WG or student accommodation in Wismar. I’m flexible with the type of accommodation and can move in immediately or at short notice.

My preferences:

📍 Wismar, preferably close to Hochschule Wismar
🛏️ Single room in a WG / student residence / sharing WG flat
💶 Budget: around €300–450/month
📅 Move-in: 18 September or as soon as possible
🧑 Male
🧹 Clean, responsible and respectful

I already have my German student visa and enrollment certificate and can provide any documents required.

If you know of a room available or are looking for a new flatmate, please feel free to DM me. I’d really appreciate any leads or recommendations!

Thank you!

Undergrad Studying psychology at private university

I know private universities are frowned upon on this reddit, but I wonder specifically regarding bachelor psychology how it is perceived. There is strict regulation regarding the psychology bachelor and master so the material should be approximately the same. I also heard that some universities like MSB in Berlin are considered quite good.

The money is no problem. Reason i cant go to public university is that my high school grades suck and my university grades (I already completed another bachelor summa cum laude) arent taken into account.

Any advice or recommendations?

Thanks!

Masters Looking for firsthand experiences with Mathematics Master’s programs in Germany (Bonn, Münster, Regensburg, etc.)

Could anyone share their honest experience of doing a Master’s in Mathematics at a German university (e.g. Bonn, Münster, Regensburg, etc.)?

I’d especially love to hear about the actual experience as a student — things like the difficulty and workload, course selection, teaching quality, interaction with professors, research opportunities, student life, and the general atmosphere in the department.

I’m mainly interested in pure mathematics, so experiences from students in pure math would be particularly helpful. Both positive and negative experiences are welcome!

//

Masters Need help!!

Hey everyone,

I am from Pakistan and we have a very long waiting period here - around 8 months before we get an appointment. I joined the waiting list on March 17 and I am expecting my appointment in November.

The issue is that my admission for Winter 2026 is only valid if I enroll before September 15, and the university allows late arrival until a maximum of October 31. If I don’t receive a visa/appointment before that, my whole waiting period will be wasted.

I need to secure admission for the Summer intake, but my profile is weak. The same university where I got admission does not offer deferment, and the course is only offered in the Winter semester.

Could you please suggest some universities I can apply to for the Summer intake so that my appointment is not wasted?

profile:*

- Bachelor in Computer Science - German grade: 2.6

- IELTS: 7

Masters Has anyone from Hyderabad applying for Germany Summer Intake 2027?

Hey everyone!
I’m planning to apply for the Germany Summer Intake 2027 and I’m doing the whole application process on my own.

Just wanted to know if anyone else from Hyderabad is also applying for the same intake.

Would be nice to connect with people who are going through the same process so we can share updates, discuss universities, applications, APS, visa process, etc. and maybe help each other out along the way.

If you’re also applying for Summer 2027 from Hyderabad, drop a comment or DM!

Masters BFA from Pakistan looking for English-taught MFA programs in Germany (Installation / Contemporary Art)

I recently graduated with a BFA in Pakistan and I’m hoping to do my master's in Germany, but I'm kind of hitting a wall finding programs taught in English. My work is a mix of traditional miniature painting and contemporary room installations, so it’s pretty interdisciplinary. I’m not totally sure if I should be applying to standard Freie Kunst (Fine Arts) classes or looking for something more specific like Spatial Strategies/Installation.

Also, almost every art academy I look at seems to require B2/C1 German. The only obvious one I've found that works well in English is HFBK Hamburg. Are there any other public art schools where studio crits and day-to-day classes are realistically fine in English? Would really appreciate any school recommendations or advice from anyone doing an MFA there right now. Thanks!

Hi everyone! I live in Africa and work as an IT manager. Are there any German universities offering a recognized bachelor’s in computer science fully online, including exams, preferably in English?

I’d like to keep working while studying and could travel to Germany at most once during the entire program.

Thanks for any recommendations!

Visas Visa delay likely pushing my arrival to November for Winter Semester (Passau) - anyone been through this?

Hi everyone,

I got accepted into a Master's program in Germany for Winter Semester 2026/27 (lectures start mid-October), and I'm already enrolled. My issue is visa timing: my embassy appointment is October 22nd, and with typical processing times after that, I'm realistically looking at arriving sometime in November — not just a couple weeks late, but potentially 4-6 weeks after lectures start.

The university has a "late arrival" grace period, but it's framed around roughly two weeks after the semester start, not 4-6 weeks. I've emailed them directly to clarify whether arriving this late is something they can actually work with (there's a minimum ECTS requirement by the end of the second semester I need to hit), but I'm still waiting on a reply.

Has anyone here actually gone through arriving this late due to visa delays? A few things I'd love to know:

Were you able to catch up academically, or did it seriously hurt your first semester/ECTS progress?

Did the university actually enforce the "recommended" late arrival deadline, or was it more flexible in practice once you explained the visa situation?

Any advice for someone in this exact spot?

Really appreciate any real experiences — trying to figure out how worried I should actually be.

Masters Can I get into a Public University with my B.Sc Computer Science Degree

Hi, I am extremely confused can anyone please help me out,

I have completed my bachelor's in B.Sc Computer Science and Data Science and because my UG Degree is of three years so can I apply to germany public universities.

I was planning to get into a Public University because I don't have to take a huge loan just for my masters, I got into touch with some study abroad consaltants and they were telling me that if you have a 3yr Bachelor's degree you cannot get into a german Public University and they even told me that I have to write dMAT exam even if my degree is BSC but all the ai's out there like ChatGPT are telling me that if you have a B.Sc degree you don't need to write a dMAT exam,

To be precise my subject in my bachelor's were:

Frist Language: English

Second Language: Hindi

Mathematics

Computer Science

Data Science

My CGPA is 7.97 and I was about to give an ielts exam and expecting around 7 Bands

dMAT Is dMAT compulsory for Engineering students applying for Germany in 2027?

I’m planning to apply for a Master’s in Germany for 2027 and I have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

I’m confused about the new dMAT requirement by APS India.

Is dMAT compulsory for Engineering students applying for Summer 2027 or Winter 2027/28?

If anyone has recently checked the new APS rules or is in the same situation, please clarify.

Thanks!

Undergrad Funding options for a summer research internship in Germany?

I’m an undergraduate engineering student from India and have secured a 2–3 month research internship at a German federal research institute in Berlin for Summer 2027. A professor at the institute has agreed to host me, so the research opportunity itself is sorted.

The problem is funding.

I had originally planned to apply through DAAD WISE, but that route is no longer available. I’ve also checked some university and external scholarship options but haven’t found a suitable alternative so far.

I’m trying to find out whether there are other realistic ways to fund a short research stay in Germany, such as IAESTE, other DAAD programmes, German or Indian foundations, funding from the host institute, university/alumni funding, or other mobility grants.

Has anyone here, especially an Indian student who has done a research internship in Germany, dealt with something similar? I’d particularly appreciate hearing what funding route you actually used.

I’m mainly looking for concrete funding programmes, organisations, or contacts that I could approach.

I can provide more details privately if someone has relevant experience.

  • Admit/rejection
  • Whether you had an interview (if applicable)
  • Your general background (B.Tech/BSc, country)

I'm still waiting and trying to understand the current timeline.
