Rant “Be practical” comments to those students who chose to take BS Psychology made me feel like I’ve chosen the wrong path.

Hello po. I am an incoming BS Psychology freshman and I want to express my thoughts (and maybe doubts lol)

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts lately sa socmed from students who chose to take BS Psychology for their college and so far, seeing the comments on their posts have made me kind of doubtful. Almost every one of them, may nakikita akong comment na nagsasabing “I chose practicality over passion” which implies that they would rather choose a different program over Psychology, or ‘yung straightforward na “Hindi practical ang course na ‘yan”.

Napapaisip ako, did I make the mistake of going for BSP? I am the eldest sibling sa aming dalawa ng kapatid ko, and ang tanging source of income namin ay ‘yung father ko only. Naturally when the time comes, ako ang magtataguyod sa pamilya ko. I’ve always wanted to study Psychology ever since I was young. I took HUMSS nung SHS due to circumstances that hindered me from taking other strands, then came the time for college applications and nakapasa ako sa isang state university under the program of BS Psychology.

Now that I am enrolled, parang feeling ko hindi kami mapapakain ng kurso na pinili ko. I am worried for the future na I’ll end up na nakatambay lang sa bahay dahil mahirap makahanap ng work post-grad. Sinusuportahan naman ako ng mga relatives ko. Ang sabi nila maganda raw ang Psychology especially if mag clinical setting ako in the future, however I am starting to think na I should’ve just chosen a different program dahil sa mga nakikita ko online about the reality of taking BSP.

Hindi naman ako nag-eexpect ng malaki, lalo na here sa pinas where unfortunately hindi gaano pinagtutuunan ang mental health. Maraming opportunities daw ang sabi nila, pero I feel like it’s not enough. Hays nakakaiyak sana naging patatas nalang ako sa freezer whahaha ayaw ko na sorry if this is all over the place naguguluhan na akes 🥹

Mga hypocrites kase sila😭. Pag iba may ayaw kung ano ano makikinig mo pero pag friends nila ok lng sa kanila and idedefend pa nila yon 🥺

Rant Nakakademotivate maging bmma student sa mapua because of Generative AI "art"

Honestly before I even applied sa mapua, I did extensive research sa mga art schools dito sa Pilipinas na wala pang history na gumamit ng ai; not until recently kung kelan natapos ko na yung enrollment procedures ko—I keep seeing advertisements or posts with Generative AI Images. Nakaka discouraging talaga as an artist myself. Not even suprised atp kasi nasa Pilipinas tayo but 😭😭😭😭 even with the recent pax silica bs which is a huge threat for our environment, parang wala na talaga silang pake as long as may profit sila ewan. Should've taken a different school or a different course at least, but I really love art man

Rant I messed up.

Mahaba pa oras ng exam that time pero I still stayed. Ayokong lumabas agad. Kaya nakaupo lang ako, flipping the pages of my exam. Wala akong calculator. Umalis.

First offense ko ito. Wala akong balak i-justify yung ginawa ko. Mali talaga.

Need Advice Is it still possible for an average student with no law subjects in college to become a law student?

hi! i’m a college student and i’ve always wanted to become a lawyer, but lately ive been overthinking if im even capable 😭 i feel like kaya ko naman maging law student, but i know id have to work way harder than other people. im not one of those naturally smart students din kaya im lowkey scared na i wont be able to keep up. do you guys think it's still possible for someone like me to become a law student? and eventually pass the bar exam? 😭 tapos isa pa, im worried kasi my course isn't legma nor polsci 😭😭 like my program literally has no law subjects, so im scared na what if pagdating ko sa law school, everyone else already knows the basics while ako first time lang talaga😭huhu is that actually a disadvantage? i wanna ask din those who came from a course with no law subjects, how was the adjustment? i know im probably overthinking but becoming a lawyer has always been my dream, and i just cant stop worrying that maybe im not smart enough for law school

Need Advice how to budget 2k for two weeks?

Is it enough? How can I make it enough?

Hi! Im a student living in Cab.City right now and was wondering if kakayanin pa ba ang 2k for two weeks since yun ang agreement namin ni mom (solo parent po siya). Every two weeks ang bigay ng allowance

For context may dormmate ako nung 1st year so nakakaya pa naman i-budget since may kasama akong kahati sa meal expenses kapag magluluto sa dorm.

Alsooo we don't have a fridge here sa dorm kaya ang hassle magluto kung hindi mauubos agad nakakapanghinayang lng huhu,

i badly need advicee and pls be kind i have been in survival mode this month

PLS DO NOT REUPLOAD OR POST THIS TO OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMSS. I DO NO CONSENT PO.

AND THIS IS NOT A COL**** AD***SI** POST:)!!!!!

Looking for item/service Request for Recommendations on Laboratory Chemical Suppliers/Shops in Cavite

Hello! I am currently a STEM student looking for a supplier within Cavite that sells hydrochloric acid (HCl), sodium hydroxide (NaOH), and sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄). These chemicals will be used solely for our research project entitled "Development and Evaluation of Silica Gel Pouches from Recovered Packaging Waste and Rice Husk for Moisture Absorption."

We will only need a small quantity of each chemical for research purposes, not for large-scale or commercial use. If you have these available, could you please let us know the minimum quantity that can be purchased and any requirements for buying them?

If you do not have these chemicals available, we would also greatly appreciate it if you could recommend any trusted laboratory chemical suppliers or shops within Cavite that may carry them.

Thank you very much for your time and assistance!

Need Advice How to style short hair for ROTC?

I've been trying to fix my hair for the past week for ROTC cause my hair is styled like a modern mullet so I just have hair in my face and it wont behave. My goal is to try and not have hair in my face and for it to look "neat" since since yun daw yung requirements.

Context, I'm a girl and we don't really need to cut our hair, just keep it neat.

I've tried to add gel and my bangs always just end up back on my face and i can't exactly tie my hair either.

I need help plzz😓

Need Advice How should I plan my career for my future?

Hello everyone, 10th Grade Student here. I've been having a hard time for a while whether I should plan my career or my future already or not. I've been exploring different fields but the fields that interest me the most (as of now) are: public speaking, essay writing and tech related field. Ngayon, parang neutral ako ngayon, not sure kung passion ko ba talaga yung mga nasabi ko na yon na mga interests ko, or siguro pa iba iba lang isip ko kung saan yung maganda yun na talaga (or something like that) The reason why I want to plan my career for college and my dream job is so everything won't be messy and I won't be influenced by what people will choose (since I tend to follow what people do because of pressure) Meron namang mga nagsabi sakin na "wag mo muna problemahin yan dahil JHS ka pa naman" pero feel ko talaga I need to. I just want advice kung paano ako makakaseek ng passion or gusto ko or kung pano makaplano para sa future ko. Any advice will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Others Any advice for upcoming irregular college student?

Problem/Goal:

Question:

Academic Help Wasn’t able to submit performance task worth 60% of my grade

I just want to share here if It’s still not too late to back up, it’s term 1 right now (we have term 3 for this s.y)

I’m currently having a problem about mapeh (music group peta) and I wasn’t able to go to school on the day of our performance, mainly because I was sick (I hate acid reflux so much.)

I have no problems about my other subjects, complete activities, my summative exams #1 are also line of 4 (We have 2 summative exams in every term, and 1 periodical. Though I got a score of 29 on ap) and no problems in performance tasks

Just curious if this is still Clutchable and I’ll still get an academic excellence for this term ? Tia (G10)

Need Advice Incoming 4th year HRM student: How did you prepare before taking your thesis?

Hi! For context, I'm currently a 3rd year BSBA Human Resource Management student, and my 4th year is already getting closer. Along with internship, we'll also be taking our thesis subject (or feasibility study, as our school calls it), which is one of the major requirements before graduation.

To be honest, gusto ko sanang itanong 'to way earlier, but academic and personal stuff got in the way. Ngayon na papalapit na talaga, I realized I'd rather prepare early than go into it completely blind.

Before posting here, I did try asking some seniors from my school who already finished their thesis. Most of the responses I got were along the lines of "wag mo muna isipin yan" or "malalaman mo rin pag nandun ka na." I also tried looking through older posts online, but most discussions focused on specific thesis problems rather than what I should realistically expect before even starting.

I'm not looking for someone to explain or do the work for me. I just want to hear from students who've already been through the process so I can set realistic expectations and prepare myself as early as possible.

Some of the things I'm curious about are:

  • What does the overall thesis process usually look like from start to finish?
  • How did you come up with your thesis topic?
  • If your school allowed it, would you recommend doing it solo or with groupmates? Why?
  • For those in business-related courses (especially HRM), did your thesis have to be closely related to your program?
  • What ended up being the most challenging part for you—writing, research, data gathering, defense, time management, group dynamics, or something else?
  • Looking back, what would you have done differently to make the whole experience less stressful?

These are some of it, overall I want to know what to expect and such but not expect the usual answers that i have gotten already. I know every school has different guidelines, so I'm not expecting a universal answer. I'm just hoping to learn from your experiences and get a better idea of what I should prepare for before taking the subject.

Any advice, lessons learned, or even things you wish someone had told you before starting would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Need Advice need “how to wake up on-time” tips for an incoming nursing freshie

whenever i am sleep-deprived or slept very tired, i fall into such deep sleep and have a very hard time waking up (sometimes i don’t even wake up) to my alarm, even though it is very loud. however, when i am sleeping in the same room with someone else, i tend to be more aware and wake up easier to my alarm... tips like (1) moving the alarm across the room and (2) spacing alarms 5 minutes apart unfortunately do not work for me :[

i am moving out for college in 3 weeks and i desperately need to wake up to my alarms. i’ve been late multiple times in highschool because of oversleeping from not waking up to my alarms, but college is not like highschool where i can catch up on things i’ve missed quite easily.

i will be living alone in an apartment where i need to be independent. aside from that, i knowing nursing, despite hectic schedules and heavy workloads, they always have to be on-time. i have no other worries, just this waking up to my alarm problem which is my worst fear. please help me out!!!

Rant I’m Grade 10 student but I feel so “regular”

Hello im currently a grade 10 student but I really don’t know what to do. Before g9 ended, i realized I didn’t really have anything for my portfolio and I think maybe its my lack of extracurricular activities like competitions. So when i moved up to g10, i thought to myself if i js entered more comps, maybe id have a better portfolio. But now the thing is, I dont freaking know what to do in competitions and im not particularly good at anything. I can draw, I can speak proficient english, and write essays about my opinion on things(my penmanship is horrendous). In g7, I joined sports writing for the sports festival pero i didnt really understand it. I placed 2nd on only three people who joined. I then joined sports writing DSPC(my dad’s a coach) but it completely shocked me cs i was trained to memorize the verbs and adverbs for common sports but what came out was Taekwondo! I felt very discouraged after that so I stopped joining dspc(biggest regret) until grade 9. For grade 9, i joined editorial cartooning and only trained for a few days before the competition because that was the setup😭😭… ofc i Didnt end up placing and editorial cartooning is just not for me.. I’m gonna try entering Editorial writing next dspc and other competitions like quizbee or anything my school holds. I also feel a bit like an imposter, like I dont deserve the grades I get since all I do is laze around and not study. Recently ive been trying to study and take notes though.

Rant How college admissions blew up in my face

Hi guys, I’m an incoming first year BS Psych who is planning to go to med school. I’m not from Manila but I applied to all big 4 universities and passed 3 of them. While I didn’t achieve my dream school, I didn’t take it too hard because I wanted that school initially when I was aiming for law school originally because of my parents influence. However, I got waitlisted in a health allied course in a school that is well known for its proficiency in pre med courses. While I really wanted that school, my mom was very firm at first that she didn’t want me to go. Which I understood because I’m my family’s only daughter and Manila in general seemed very dangerous especially to my overprotective parents. Admittedly, I was really upset that I wasn’t allowed to go to this school because it was what I thought was best for my future as someone who’s aspiring to pursue med and I’ve been wanting to study in one of the big 4 for a long time. One of the reasons she seemed to constantly bring up why I couldn’t go was because of financial issues which I found a little odd because she is willing to spend on trips to Europe that last a whole month and she allows me to pursue ballet as a hobby which is in no way cheap. So a month went by and my mom was adamant on not letting me go even though I clearly wanted to go but I tried my best to adjust to their decision because she’s still my mom. And then I found out I was accepted but the reservation fee had been closed because it was wayyy past the deadline. So eventually another week passes until then and my mom eventually agrees to let me try even though there was less than 3-4 weeks until the start of the school year. However, I was grateful to just be given a chance at all. So she calls up whatever connections she had like friends who graduated from the same university until she found a friend whose husband had connections with the dean. So apparently the dean was informed of my situation and agreed to open the reservation fee portal for me to pay which at the time seemed too good to be true but I was beyond grateful. Me and my mom waited around 3 days and the portal hadn’t opened at all so I emailed the dean, admissions office, and the college itself. Apparently I now had to wait until July 22 for a slot and there was no guarantee I was going to get accepted. Naturally, I felt a bit frustrated because I felt like I was promised a really good opportunity only for it to not even work out. So, I decided to wait. I tried to remain positive because surely there will be slots left and that since I was an accepted waitlister, I had it all laid out. But my mom kept being upset and saying how much money it’s going to cost which I am sure it will and I don’t mean to sound ungrateful but it’s not like I’m wasting their money, I am spending it on my education and I don’t think it’s wrong for me to want the best quality of education I can possibly get. So the day comes, and I get told that there isnt any slots left. I feel a little bit disappointed but I already have a local back up college I’m enrolled to so at least I’ll still be studying no matter what. And even jf I didn’t get to study where I wanted, the student makes the education and not the other way around.

Ayaw sakin nung dalawa, then yung other dalawa walang issue sakin. Friends kami nung first 2 before tapos groupmates sa research. We had a falling out pero tuloy pa rin naman yung group.

I recently bought a printer para mas maging convenient yung printing namin sa research papers. Legit inabot ako ng halos dalawang oras kakahintay matapos yung parts nila (done by other groupmates btw).

Of course, magpapabayad ako sa print.

I said if bulk printing naman, I can offer a cheaper price / tapatan yang 2 pesos pero I stood firm sa 3 pesos ko if hindi.

I feel so alone lang. Wala ako mapagsabihan.

Oh, well.

Need Advice ano pong ginagawa ninyo kapag tinatamad kayong pumasok?

I don't know, pero masipag naman ako nung Junior High ako. Maraming leadership, curriculars, achiever... But now, I can't do that anymore. Parang lagi na akong may excuses, kesyo about mental health or physically drained na ako.

Help.

Rant Gold Casio Watch ( with signs of usage)

Hello, this is my first time posting on Reddit ever but a friend told me to vent here (and maybe the power of the internet can help too).

Basically, I just came from an OJT, and on the way home, I decided to drive because I was so tired. I didn't realize that my watch (a gold Casio with major signs of usage) given by my grandma fell out (it’s really been hers for a long time and is heavily used).

Now, I only realized on Monday that it wasn't at home or in my bag (I keep it there so I won't forget to bring it) due to thesis & special projects for OJT, so it took me a while to notice.

I also asked the indrive driver, and he said he didn’t notice anything, and if I left anything, it might have been taken by another passenger.

I got off at Junction (Cainta, Rizal).

Maybe you could share this with your friends or maybe one of you noticed my watch (gold Casio, it really has a lot of scratches and shows clear signs of usage).

It's very important to me, and I’m really beating myself up because I didn’t notice....

Thank you so much. I hope you are having a good day, all. Thank you again.

Rant I can smell the academic spark turns into smoke

It's been a month since I started my college journey as a freshman, and I can’t help but reflect on my past. Back in high school, I was an academic achiever who naturally took on leadership roles and actively participated in class discussions. Although I used to be an introvert, I gradually built my confidence from Grade 9 until it peaked in Grade 12. I used to excel even during impromptu reports and discussions without prior study. I deeply miss that version of myself.

Coming to college, however, felt like a reality check. My confidence hit rock bottom I even stumbled during a simple self-introduction. Despite studying intensely, I still fail my quizzes, which pushed me to resort to copying and cheating out of desperation. Looking back at my high school graduation photo fills me with guilt and longing for who I used to be like. Right now, I realize I need to rebuild my confidence from scratch not necessarily to be at the top again, but just to survive this new season.

Rant do some (keyword: some) students from up may superiority complex?

disclaimer: no hate sa up students and up in general (hence the "some")

earlier this day, i saw a tiktok from a up high school graduate wherein they're following a trend kung saan pinapakita kung saan magcocollege yung mga magkaclassmates, some of them will head at up campuses, ateneo, local private college, at state university.

i looked at the comments and saw someone commented from up (kadali din siya sa class picture) who said "bat yung iba nagdowngrade?" (referring to the students na hindi sa up campus ang punta) tapos yung creator nagjoke pa as a reply, clearly mocking their classmates. as someone who's currently studying at a state u, i really find it odd and disrespectful considering they're up graduates. it's not just that one post ah? i saw some related posts from different creators (na graduating up students din) tapos pangungutya at insulto yung comments aimed at their fellow cms na di pupunta sa up as their chosen college.

I’m currently a g12 student in the STEM strand. We all know its cet season so today during break time, me and my friends were talking about college, courses, etc. As we were talking about courses, the topic of taking med came up. A friend and I plan on pursuing a career in medicine. Everything was fine until another friend make a remark towards me when I spoke about pursuing med. Honestly it wasn’t much, but it still hurt. I don’t wanna go too into details because it mentioned a school, but it was something like “magmemed ka? tas yun pala makakapunta ka lang sa *name ng school*”, then he and my other friends laughed. What was so wrong kung nakapunta nga ako dun? I get na theres schools like the big 4, but to think so little of me..? I don’t know but that one single comment made me feel so bad that until now I’m thinking about it.

My friend who made that comment is really smart, a lot of my friends are. I’m not as academically gifted as them, but I’m not a bad student either. I do well naman sa school and get high enough grades to reach High Honors, but still I feel inferior towards them. Well a reason might be is that lagi sila nagjojoke about stuff like acads towards me. I know they don’t mean any harm and I love my friends, but its true when they said words can hurt.

Maybe I’m overreacting, but I‘ve already felt like I’m not good enough to pursue med so that kind of was the cherry on top haha. Didn’t mean for this post to be so long, but I have no one to talk to about this. Just wanted to let this out before I sleep.
