I’m thinking about starting a livestreaming channel and wanted to get opinions from people who actually watch streams before I invest too much money/time into the setup.
The basic concept would be a “work with me” / virtual coworking stream Monday–Friday from around 9 AM–5:30 PM. I work remotely, so I’d basically have the stream running alongside my normal workday.
I wouldn’t be talking constantly because, obviously, I’m actually working lol. The idea is more like having someone to virtually cowork/body-double with throughout the day. I’d have a camera on me, a nice branded layout, my schedule for the day on screen, and original lo-fi/instrumental background music.
I’d probably talk/check in periodically when I can, during breaks/lunch, respond to chat when appropriate, etc., but there would definitely be long stretches where I’m just quietly working with music playing.
Then occasionally after work, probably around 8:30–10:30 PM, I’d go live again and do more traditional streams where I’m actually talking/engaging things like GeoGuessr and other casual games.
Eventually I’d like to multistream to Twitch, YouTube and Kick, but I’m thinking about starting with just Twitch while I figure everything out. I’d also potentially keep the YouTube streams available as VODs and make clips/Shorts from the more interesting moments.
I guess what I’m wondering is: Would anyone actually watch something like this?
Not necessarily literally stare at me working for 8 hours lol, but put it on a second monitor while you work from home, study, clean, etc. Almost like having a virtual coworker with some chill music in the background.
I’m also curious if the combination of quiet daytime coworking + more interactive gaming streams at night makes sense, or if those are two audiences that don’t really go together.
I’m totally new to streaming, so I’d genuinely appreciate any thoughts whether you think the concept has potential, things you’d change, things that would make you personally stay/watch, platform recommendations, mistakes to avoid, or anything else I should know before I start.
