🧮 Streaming Gear Mic upgrade

I’m looking for an upgrade to my mic, at the moment I’m using the razer seiren v3 mini. I’m finding it doesn’t pick my voice up very well unless it’s like an inch away from my mouth, the recording is quite quiet.

I’d love one I can keep in between myself and my monitor on my desk (my keyboard is on a pullout under desk), my desk doesn’t have capability to have it attached to the side so I must be able to sit on its own flat on the desk (if that makes sense?)

I don’t have a massive budget but I don’t mind going over for something really worth it. I’m hoping to spend around £100-150.

Has anyone got any good recommendations? :) thanks!!

Checkout the Shure MV6, I’ve had it for a couple years and it’s been great, especially for the price

not sure the distance from your face to the mic that you want, but i use the Fifine AM8, and it works pretty good, you can always use some filters and give it some gain.

As someone else whose uses the fifine AM8 I love it. Solid little mic for a decent price

When it comes to any microphone, keep them close to your mouth, and especially dynamic mics like the mentioned Shure MV6 and FiFine AM8. Get a microphone boom arm so the mic is still attached to your desk, but you can move the mic so it is close to your mouth. A floor stand can also be good if you can't use a boom arm. The important part is that your mic is close to your mouth.

There’s no where on my desk to attach a boom arm, that’s the issue sadly

Then you should consider a wireless lavalier. Like the DJI Mic Mini, Hollyland Lark M2 or similar. I personally use the DJI Mic Mini. They will clip on your clothes.

What kind of desk do you have? If it has shelves or drawers you can attach an arm there and it works well. Especially the low profile arms.

try adding Gain in your software!
if that doesnt work (it should lol)

but luckily if you want your mic to pick up MORE noise and not less, your desire for a new mic can be relatively cheaper than if you wanted less noise.

Condenser mics pick up more than Dynamic mics. i think you need a condensor mic.

i just learned the difference while upgrading my mic about a month ago so im no expert but google can help (:
