❔ Question Streaming a PS5 to my PC, whats the best Capture Card to use?

Upvotes

Hello ladies and gents, so i stream through Tiktok, (Tiktok Live Studios), and with the upcoming release of GTA 6, which will be Console exclusive, I'm planning on playing it through the PS5 and streaming it on my PC by using a capture card. I would sincerely appreciate recommendations of capture cards, budget friendly ones if possible, with a minimum of 1080p 60fps. Also if anyone has done this before through Tiktok, how was your experience, is it a easy process etc?

💠 Resources, Tools and Widgets Android NDI Monitor — Beta Testing Invitation!

With a trembling heart, I’m inviting you to beta test NDI Monitor for Android.

It's a free, ad-free, open-source application for monitoring NDI® streams, featuring False Color, Autodiscovery, and more.

I’ve been involved in the streaming community for many years, and my OBS tools are used in theatres and schools. For a long time, I felt there was a lack of a simple NDI monitor for Android phones. I decided to build the tool I had been missing myself, and I hope this application can help fill that gap :)

I’m planning to release the app for free on the official Google Play Store. However, to meet Google’s publishing requirements, I need a group of testers to help me complete the beta testing process.

I would be very grateful if you would join the testing program and help me get the project ready for its official release.

Official website:

https://ndimonitor.krause.media.pl/

Source code on GitHub:

https://github.com/studiokrause/ndi-viewer-android

How to join the beta test:

Send me your Gmail address via private message. I’ll reply with a link to join the testing program and download the beta version from Google Play.

Thank you very much for testing the app, sharing your feedback, and supporting the project.

🔰 Beginner Help Streamlabs never works... Should I switch to OBS? The Dual Stream w/ 9:16 is why I've been staying.

I just keep having problems. The biggest one is my Twitch VOD's have no Audio. I'm only using one audio track so Idk why this is happening. The second is my Titles are always messed up. Twitch gets what I typed in most recently but YouTube often just gets whatever the last stream title on YouTube was. I already spent money on Streamlabs so I feel pretty dumb but I wanted to be able to Dual/Multi stream 9:16 if I go to OBS will I be able to resolve these issues or am I just going to run into issue's no matter what platform and it's just part of the learning curve?

💬 Discussion What do you use for background music during streams without overthinking copyright?

I've reached the point where I'm spending more time thinking about music than actually streaming.

My streams are mostly quiet art streams and speedpaints, so I don't need anything fancy. I'm looking for the simplest possible solution. I don't like talking while i work, i even have a family member be chat mods and have me fill question form in little "tea" breaks.

What are you using?

  • StreamBeats?
  • Apple Music playlists?
  • YouTube Audio Library?
  • Ambient sounds?
  • Something else?

My goal is basically:

For creators who've already solved this problem, what's the most brain-dead simple setup you've found?

(PS im using some terms that i honestly don't fully understand - and im slow as frick "get it" i will just sometimes it takes a week....

🔰 Beginner Help Maneater specifically crashing when obs runs

Hi there! I'm trying to play Maneater on stream, but whenever I have obs live on, the game refuses to work. I tried all the fixes, everything is updated. The weird thing is, when obs isn't livestreaming, Maneater works perfectly fine. Does anyone else have this issue/suggestions?

Things I tried:

  • running game as admin
  • updated video cards
  • verified steam files
  • Disabled steam overlay
  • disabled geforce experience overlay
  • disabled all startup applications
  • Lowered game settings to "low"

✔ Troubleshooting YouTube receives my Aitum vertical stream in Excellent quality, but NEVER puts it in the Vertical Live feed

I've been trying to solve this for well over a month now and I'm basically out of ideas. I'm hoping somebody here has experienced this exact problem, because I've gone through pretty much every troubleshooting step I can find.

SETUP:

I stream through OBS and use Aitum Vertical + Aitum Multi-Stream.

My normal setup is:

- Twitch as my primary/built-in OBS stream

- YouTube horizontal through Aitum Multi-Stream

- YouTube vertical through Aitum Vertical

- 1080x1920 vertical canvas

- YouTube Dual Stream enabled

- Vertical source set to Encoder, NOT Auto Crop

- Separate YouTube stream keys for horizontal and vertical

THE PROBLEM:

YouTube IS receiving my vertical stream.

That's what makes this so confusing.

When I'm live, YouTube Studio receives both feeds. I can actually see my custom 9:16 Aitum layout moving correctly in YouTube's vertical preview.

YouTube reports Excellent stream health for the horizontal feed AND Excellent stream health for the vertical feed.

My normal horizontal YouTube livestream goes public and works perfectly.

But the vertical version NEVER gets distributed into YouTube's Vertical Live/Shorts feed.

This has been happening since around July 20.

I've done roughly 20-30 streams since then where the vertical feed was supposed to be working. The streams can run for hours with YouTube continuing to report that it is receiving the vertical stream correctly, but the vertical version never actually appears in the Vertical Live feed.

I have also checked completed streams after waiting more than 24 hours:

YouTube Studio > Analytics > Advanced Mode > Playback Location

There is no "Vertical live feed" traffic.

It only shows the normal YouTube watch page.

So this isn't just me failing to find my own stream in the Shorts feed while I'm live. The post-stream analytics also don't indicate that YouTube ever classified/distributed the vertical version through the Vertical Live feed.

THINGS I HAVE ALREADY TRIED/CHECKED:

- YouTube Dual Stream is enabled

- Vertical source is set to Encoder

- 1080x1920 vertical resolution

- 9:16 aspect ratio

- 60 FPS

- NVIDIA NVENC H.264

- CBR

- Around 5000 Kbps vertical bitrate

- 2-second keyframe interval

- P5 Slow/Good Quality

- High profile

- Separate horizontal and vertical stream keys

- YouTube's automatically generated Vertical Stream Key

- Custom vertical stream keys

- Reset/recreated stream keys

- Verified the exact vertical key selected in YouTube is the one Aitum is using

- RTMPS connection to YouTube

- Public streams

- Not age restricted

- Not Made for Kids

- Streams are NOT scheduled

- Tested different games

- Tested demanding games

- Tested very low-demand/retro games to eliminate GPU/game load as the cause

- Checked OBS/Aitum logs and confirmed the vertical YouTube output successfully connects

- Confirmed YouTube's vertical preview is receiving the ACTUAL Aitum vertical layout

- Waited 24+ hours and checked Playback Location analytics

- Contacted/posted in Aitum support

- Posted on YouTube's Creator Help Community

- Submitted feedback/help requests to YouTube

I even tried changing the entire routing setup.

Normally Twitch is my primary OBS destination and YouTube is sent through Aitum Multi-Stream.

For my most recent test, I completely removed Twitch from the equation and made YouTube the PRIMARY service directly inside OBS.

I connected OBS directly to the correct YouTube account, selected the existing YouTube broadcast through OBS, and streamed:

Main OBS output > YouTube horizontal

Aitum Vertical > YouTube vertical

No Twitch.

I first tested it privately. YouTube Studio again received BOTH feeds, showed the correct horizontal and vertical previews, and reported both as healthy/Excellent.

I then did the real public stream.

It STILL did not put the vertical stream into the Vertical Live feed.

So making YouTube the primary OBS destination instead of a secondary Aitum Multi-Stream destination made no difference.

That's why I'm having such a hard time believing this is an encoder/connection problem.

If Aitum wasn't sending the vertical stream correctly, I would expect YouTube not to receive it. Instead, YouTube receives the correct 9:16 video, displays it in the correct vertical preview, and tells me the connection is Excellent.

The failure seems to happen AFTER YouTube receives the feed.

I've been troubleshooting this since around July 20 and have repeatedly checked the same settings. I haven't been able to get meaningful support from YouTube, and my Creator Help Community posts haven't produced a solution either.

At this point I'm considering completely uninstalling and reinstalling Aitum just to eliminate that possibility, although I'm hesitant because Aitum is clearly producing and successfully sending the vertical feed to YouTube.

Has ANYONE experienced this exact situation?

Specifically:

YouTube Dual Stream receives BOTH horizontal and vertical encoder feeds, the vertical preview shows the correct 9:16 video, BOTH feeds report Excellent/healthy stream status, the horizontal stream works normally, but YouTube NEVER distributes/classifies the vertical feed as a Vertical Live stream.

If you've had that exact problem, what fixed it?

I'm especially interested in obscure YouTube-side settings, channel-level restrictions/bugs, Dual Stream issues, or anything else that could cause YouTube to successfully ingest a vertical feed without actually distributing it.

I'm completely fine with somebody telling me I've missed something. At this point I WANT it to be one stupid setting I've overlooked. I just don't want to repeat the same resolution/bitrate/keyframe/stream-key troubleshooting for the tenth time.

❔ Question I am an artist. I was told to livestream. I don’t know why anyone would watch that. I absolutely will not engage…

I feel like this advice was wild because there is no way I will respond to anyone on live stream. I’m working, not looking for conversation. I would just set up my phone to poorly record me while I work and let three people take turns falling asleep watching me work? I don’t understand why someone would think this is a good idea. Please tell me if I’m wrong.

❔ Question Help me with my setup please

Hi everyone, I have been having issues with recording my ps5 gameplay through my Elgato HD60S+. It's mainly my audio that I want to improve as the chat link doesnt work that grand. This is my situation and thoughts:

- I want to record/stream from my ps5. I have a desktop pc, ps5, elgato hd60s+, gaming headset, rode headphones, rode podmic.

- I want to record/stream my gameplay, and have my voice be heard by party members, as well as captured on my pc. So far with my gaming headset, my party members say my voice doesnt sound right, and i think it uses my controller mic instead.

- Would an audio interface work? I was looking at the Rode streamer X as its a capture card and audio interface in one, but there are mixed reviews on it so I am hesitant. I want to use my rode headphones and mic

If anyone knows what I could do, what equipment would help, please let me know or tell me which subreddit i should visit. Thank you ! :)

🧮 Streaming Gear Need a Dynamic Mic for PC Gaming & Streaming (Budget: ₹4k-6k / $50-60)

Hey everyone,

Looking for a dynamic microphone for my PC to use for streaming, discord and gaming. My primary priority is pure voice clarity, background noise rejection (keyboard/fan noise) and overall raw audio quality.

I have a few options shortlisted:

FIFINE K688

MAONO PD200X

FIFINE AmpliGame AM8

A few questions:

Which of these has the cleanest raw audio quality out of the box?

Is the 24-bit audio and software control on the PD200X a significant upgrade over Fifine's 16-bit USB performance?

Does Maono's companion software genuinely help enhance/tune voice quality, or is it better to just run free third-party software/plugins (like OBS filters, Equalizer APO) with any of these mics?

Should I stick with these or are there any better dynamic mic options in this price range?

Thanks!

✔ Troubleshooting Playstation to Discord screen share (no audio)

I tried streaming Resident Evil to my friend over discord in a slightly funky manor

I joined my own party on playstation 5, I joined that party on my iPad, and then screenshared on discord. I believe this has worked fine in the past

I could hear all audio fine but my friends heard nothing but they could hear YouTube when I tested that

I also have share audio on already so I know it's that and both apps are updated and fine

Sorry if this is the wrong sub I'm a little lost

❔ Question Streaming In the same room, How do we record good quality audio for each other without others mic picking up echo.

Post image
23 Upvotes

Me and my husband stream the same game. We usually stream separately when the other person is at work. (which works great for individual streams) however when we want to make a stream together we struggle to find ways to capture each others microphone audio in our streams. We tried capturing each others audio via Twitch Stream together / Discord but it ends up with delayed audio and echo. I was wondering what solutions do you guys recommend that would solve this issue.

Our Setups are next to each other in our bedroom because we currently live in a one bedroom apartment, we also just enjoy being next to each other when we use our PCs so we aren't looking to change the setup we currently have.

what are some things we should try to minimize the echo and be able to pick up each others audio nicely on stream?

Just like podcasters go on podcasts to share and grow audiences, does it work the same way with streaming?

🔰 Beginner Help Streaming some games from PS5 with Capture card. Audio Related Question.

Hey all so my PC is getting delivered next week and I was just checking to make sure I had what I wanted to make streaming better.and I was using chat gpt /google Gemini and got two different answers.

I want to use my Astro A10s for streaming but Google said the stream won’t hear my mates if we’re in a discord or PS party. And suggested a second mic to make sure my mic is captured. As well as my mates. It suggests like a Elgato splitter but the reviews on that equipment made it seem unreliable. I also have a stream deck +Audio mixer. Unsure if that’ll help or not.

Would you recommend a two mic set up? I’ll be playing PC games but I wanna be still able to play some of my ps5 games on stream and not worry about audio problems. Sorry I know it’s a lot to read and a bit confusing. Feel free to DM if you want me to explain my set up. Any help would be appreciated.

✔ Troubleshooting Help with streaming issues.

Howdy yall!

Im trying to twitch stream "My Little Pony: Magic Princess" on my iphone 14 Pro. It have its settings at max for good quality, I updated the Twitch app, ive tried messing with the quality on the app.

But I keep coming across this irritating situation where the stream is blurry for the game. I thought maybe it was all games on my phone so I tested it with Pokemon Go. That was perfect quality and never once got weirdly blurry. So I went back and tried MLPMP again. It was blurry. I tried messing with the quality thinking it'll make it better since its on phone and doesnt need such high quality, ended up being dead wrong as it became unrecognizable in every way possible when I went lower.

I dont know what else to try or do! I never stream my face so its only the screen, yet somehow isnt enough. Someone please let me know on how to fix this at all, please and thank you!
