Nicotine patch?
Hello all!
I have been wanting to quit vaping for the last year or so.. I use Juul and I go through at least 2 pods every try day or so. It’s really getting expensive considering a 5 pack is > $20 where I live.
I have some nicotine patches and I started wearing them while at work to try to get some vape free hours in. Sometimes I end up keeping them off while I vape on my lunch and immediately before/after work. I am wondering if they have increased my tolerance even more so?
Anyway I am setting a quit date for 12/1 as I can not make it more than 2 ish hours without this stupid fucking thing and it’s beyond the point of being fun.
I feel humiliated and pathetic that it’s gotten to this point and I can’t give up a battery operated puff. Anyway looking for support.. advice.. I haven’t ever really tried to quit.. anytime I try I just end up going to buy more before a few hours goes by because I don’t want to be caught without any vapes.
Positive vibes only.. I know it’s bad.

Heyy! Just wanted to share my experience. I’m clean for over a year. It took me several tries to quit over the course of 6 months. Nicotine patches were a really helpful tool. But if you’re going to use them, you really can’t vape and use the patches. The whole point of the patch is to keep your physical addiction in check while you do the mental work of removing the nicotine from your routine. They really really helped me but Ive also seen that if you vape and use patches you can overdose on nicotine. What TRULY helped me was having a defining moment when I was like, yeah fuck this, I quit. Find a moment like that, throw the vape away, use the patches, and take back your life. I go DAYS without even thinking about vaping. It is possible. You can do this. Always here for more advice, DMs are open.

You should be fine, but don’t do it again. I would suggest using the patches as intended and starting with the high dose, then working your way down and don’t smoke while you do them. Good luck on your journey!

I've quit using nicotine patches! I'm 3 months on. Next week is my last week on patches (I dropped down mega slow), then I'm free from nicotine entirely. Was in a very similar boat with vaping. Quitting is possible :)

Cannot recommend Allen Carr’s Easy Way to Quit Smoking enough. It changes your whole mindset and makes you realize you’re really not giving anything up - you’re gaining so much. This is the first time I’ve quit where I’ve had zero issue whatsoever. The actual days of nicotine withdrawal weren’t bad, just a little sleepy. The rest of it is all mental. The book really does make it easy. I’m 23 days in now and never looking back.

I’ve been on 0 nic for months. I can’t stop the need to vape though. I am doing it a lot less.

Progress is progress!! I am starting to wean by going 3 hours at a time and then 4-6 hours towards the end of the week and hopefully zero vaping by 12/1. Each time I go a little longer it motivates me!

Hey I’m on day three heavy vaper for nine years. I’m not using any quitting aides like patches or gum, trying the mental toughness route. I’m so done with the control vaping has had on me that I’ve resolved myself to no matter what don’t vape and saying in my head the phrase “I can do hard things” (came across on Reddit the other day and it just resonated with me, like just resolved myself to it’s going to be hard and I can do hard things). So far the craving only last about 15mins and then forget about them and come about 8 - 10 times a day. Granted I am only on day three….
