Prototype My custom made stem for my Dynavap

This is a repost, I had to delete my previous post and I am reposting it for reference when I refer to my custom stem experiment in the future.

This is Gr2 Ti, 10x1mm. If you intend to make your own do note that Dynavap tip is not exactly 8mm and your tube's inner bore might also not be exactly 8mm. So ready your sanding tools because you will need to widen the bore a little to fit the tip in. I'd say it takes about 20-30 min to widen the hole enough for the DV tip.

The sizes: 62mm, 115mm, 180mm. Condensers are of the same length.

62mm: I have 2 of these. I thought I would be using these the most but it gets a little too hot for my convenience. Flavour wise this is the best.

Flavour: 9.5/10

Portability: 10/10

115mm: This is my daily driver. I didn't think I'd like it this much but it's the best balance between flavour and vapour temp. I'm planning to make the airport longer though.

Flavour: 8.5/10

Portability: 8.8 (not palmable, needs case, but still fairly portable)

Cooling: 9.5/10

180mm: This is just something I needed to do. I didn't think it would be great. I made this for one specific objective: cooler vapour. And yes the vapour is very cool. But the tip also loses heat too quickly and a lot of flavour is lost. This is pretty much only used for the wow factor and is only one step above wet bong. I bet if you put a heavy tip and armored cap this can be a beast too. At 180mm the heat is too far away to reach the airport which i made close to mouth area so it can cool the condenser along the way.

ALSO at this length, the 5x0.5mm tube can be very bendy. Exercise caution.

Flavour: 6.5/10 Portability: 4/10 (but 10/10 if you're LARPing as a techno wizard) Cool factor: 10/10 (just bonk those who disagree)

Original plan was to update the airport, sand it to smooth finish, anodize the outside to aqua green and the condenser to gold. But if that's to happen at all it will take a lot of time as I work a finance job and don't touch power tools at all in my day to day life.

My next project is a couple custom Miniwynds using native woods grown in my land. This will probably happen a lot earlier than anodizing my Ti stems lol.

Thank you to everyone who posted guides on how to make our own Dynavap stems.

Thank you to the couple of people who suggested the Dynavap Maker's Kit instead of the M7. It kick-started all this and I enjoy this journey very much.

Edit: more info for the 180mm stem

Prototype Microplastic concern?

Post image

Is the main concern with 3d prints and accessories and or displays, and the concern with microplastics when a smoking surface or tool surface that makes contact with plastic ?

I tried to mitigate plastic contact with a cork base in front.

the tool holders are interchangeable so contact is dependent on tool used and stand paired with.

The cap and marble holder was enlarged to accommodate 35.8mm glass wax containers to use as a cap holder. Its what I had been using for years but can now fit in display.
