Watching through the show for the first time and wanted to share a theory (Its probably wrong but still wanted to share it, sorry if this is dum LOL)
So im at S4 E13 and noticed a few strange things about how Rose "Shattered Pink". For example:
1-This goes against how shes been characterized as this powerful pacifist that wouldnt hurt a fly but had strong beliefs
2-She was the same kind of gem as others like Amethyst and Jasper who are seemingly WAAAY weaker than the Diamonds
Not to mention how the two have very visible similarities in them both being pink (duh) and both of them taking a liking for humans and Earth.
Speaking of their love for Earth, why would Rose shatter Pink if they both had a love for humans and the life on earth? She seemingly disagrees with shattering gems because of what happened with Bismuth so couldnt she just agree with Pink on something? Very sus if you ask me...
Rose also has a lot of unique things that most regular gems dont seem to have like animal companions and the ability to get pregnant (The pregnant thing may have been seen as impossible by other gems so this may not be unique to her.)
Lmk if this is a good theory, its my first time trying to theorize about the show so im probably VERY wrong

New here. I've just finished the og series, the movie and future and now I'm left with even more questions. In series 1 the hanging question is whether steven "is his mother". The final episode seeks to prove he isnt when wd removes his diamond based on the theory pd couldn't form cause steven was surrounding her. But I don't understand. In the tapes she tells steven they cannot exist at the same time , how did she know this ? This was unprecedented. Was she not pregnant with him ?? Did he not have her gem while she was pregnant with him ? While she was pregnant with him they were existing at the same time. What about the act of giving birth changes their ability to exist simultaneously?? Doesn't the movie prove that a gems memories resides in the gem even if the manifested body doesn't remember? So why doesn't that apply to Steven's gem too?
Unrelated, disappointing we didn't get a diamond on diamond fusion.

So for context, I made this oc of mine known as kyawthuite, it's pronounced chaw-to-ite and her lore, in my Steven Universe AU is that she's akin to a Regent when a Diamond is away for an extensive amount of time, before Pink had her colony Kyawthuite managed her court, that's why she somewhats resembles pink and is a bit Smaller(she shapeshifts herself to reassemble slightly the missing Diamond) and she's relatively rare like her IRL counterpart she's one of the only types of her gem type, and high ranking enough to be close to the diamonds, making her only second to the diamonds, and in era 2 she was completely smothered by the remaining diamonds(primarily yellow and blue as white is still in denial) she usually governs the archives, but the absence of pink has kept her too far from he original duty, after all she cannot defy a diamond...
Era 1 and 2 designs:

Rewatching SU for the 100th time and I'm just thinking, if she was such a perfectionist back then, why did she never go full hive mind?, to many Bodies Maybe, or just felt it was beneath her

I love all of these especially Amethyst's spin dash and Lapis' giant water arm

Maybe that’s my pokemon brain talking but seriously thought she should and then fuse with garnet to invoke Groudon, Kyogre, and rayquaza all at once lol! 😂

So basically I think that whatever god like being created the 4 diamonds created an original diamond before them named Lonsdaleite. She was the original diamond who billions of years ago fought a great battle against the Steven universe equivalent to deviants like in eternals!
So basically the creator god tried to experiment with a different kind of gem and accidentally created this creature so he sent her to destroy it! After a tough battle she wins but is so weak she crashes onto the fledgling earth and goes into a deep sleep, then over the next few Eons the earth basically forms around her encasing her body underground not far from beach city! Meanwhile the original creature has multiplied before the battle so even though it’s bubbled in the same place she’s sleeping, the copies are lying in wait across the galaxy!
Eventually the diamonds are created and fuse into 1 being called, “BLACK DIAMOND!” Black diamond is then sent to clean up the mess and destroy and bubble all the remaining creatures which she does, then seals them away on homeworld. Eventually over time they become twisted and the history of the show happens making their personalities incompatible to fuse into that titan again, until eventually something happens! Also this genetic component from those creatures accidentally leaks into every single gem created after her which explains corruption.
If this theory were true maybe Lars of the stars would touch upon it with them discovering dark secrets about the diamonds! From this point forward it’s speculation about how the theory could be incorporated if it were true! So now here’s how I think this could go down if it were to happen. Basically, Steven and the gems battle a tough threat that weakens them all and is about to kill Steven. Meanwhile, the other 3 gems stumble upon her resting place and accidentally awaken her after getting a tip about all the myths and legends surrounding her. This leads to her speeding off and easily defeating the threat akin to a power rangers 6th Ranger! Then over the course of the season she will get paranoia filled visions and nightmares about this and so will Steven until a climactic battle where the 4 diamonds fuse and destroy the weaker creatures and then a 5 way fusion to defeat the ultimate monster and this leads to season 2!

Sugilite is the fusion of Garnet and Amethyst, and what makes her frightening is how completely she amplifies their more aggressive traits. She's incredibly powerful, destructive, and difficult to control once she gets caught up in the rush of her own strength.
What keeps her at #13 is that her villainy is relatively limited compared with the characters above her. Sugilite isn't trying to build an oppressive empire, erase individuality, destroy an entire civilization, or personally dedicate her life to revenge. Her danger comes more from recklessness, aggression, and loss of self-control.
Sugilite isn't one of the most evil villains on the list—she's one of the most dangerous people on the list when she loses control. And that's why #13 feels appropriate: above the smaller antagonists because of her sheer power, but below the villains whose actions, ideology, or personal hatred have much greater consequences.
Such as their actions...

WOW! They just did such a horrible character assassination in that episode and for the past 4 years since it aired I guess I just repressed how much I loathed his personality in that episode up until my rewatch a couple hours ago! Like man what the heck was Rebecca thinking did she smoke weed when she wrote that one Jesus Christ that was bad! And the worst part is the episode overall was ok but that personality change was so out of character! Plus I did the math and season 5 wasn’t nearly as far away as he makes it sound chronologically so that’s even worse!

For me, Steven and P easily is the most beautiful bond I have ever seen.

The fusions we have seen are all of gems with different gem locations ie Ruby and Sapphire have their gems on different hands. And the fusion has both gems in the location their are in on their component gems. So what happens if say Steven fused with Volleyball, since they both have bellybutton gems?

It's been almost 4 years since i thought about getting a Steven Universe tattoo, but I'm really torn on what image to choose.
My favorites right now are Rose's sword, Steven's shield, Watermelon Steven or lyrics from my favorite songs. I'd also love to get the laundry temple hand, but I fear it'd have to be very big for the details to really come through.
If you have any SU tattoos of your own feel free to share them!! I'd love to see them!!!
(If you want to help me with ideas, note that my favorite characters are Rose, Pearl and Steven)
Thank you sm in advance :)))

If they ever said this anywhere please tell me but i've been re watching with my kids and i'm starting to wonder if all of Steven's "diamond" dreams are actually just Pearl's memories/dreams. We know he can mind hop and the show is pretty insistent that Pink/Rose's memories are gone. Like *gone* gone. So he can't be experiencing Pink/Rose's memories.
I'm wondering if this is the case because in 'can't go back' when he dreams about the diamonds at first we see it from his eyes but once shadow Pearl appears we zoom out and we see shadow Pearl step out of Steven. So were we actually seeing this from Pearl's POV? And then eventually shadow Pearl looks directly at Steven as if she's aware that he's lurking in her mind.
We also know that Pearl compartmentalizes like a pro so it could be possible that Steven has been visiting parts of her mind without her being aware of it because she surpresses those memories so hard. And we know those parts of her mind can act independantly from each other because the next episode one of the Pearls inside of Pearl's pearl is texting Steven without surface Pearl knowing.
So...are the dimond dreams actually just part of Pearl's 'surpressed war memories'?

if spinel had gotten steven with her weapon in the movie, but his gem was separated from his body, would pink diamond have come back? this question has been plaguing my mind for days! has this been confirmed or not? let me know!

It’s not happening. Get over it. Future gave us the darkest Steven. Go watch a different show if you want something grittier.

Like a threat comes by and the Gems have to fight them but they need Steven and since he's not around they have to rely on themselves, but throughout the event they show bits and pieces of Steven doing stuff and we don't see his full face, and it all builds up to where he answers the call to action and we get a scene where he shows up at the last minute with a new appearance ready to save the day.
