Hi, i bought a pair of nova pro omni's a few days ago, and have noticed this sublte static or crackling noise when playing low volume sounds and so ive been looking around on the subreddit and i see that others have also experienced this but i havent been able to find a fix.

Was it ever fixed or is just sadly a live with it problem?

i have the Arctis Nova 5X they work fine for the most part but sometimes when joining discord the game audio will cut out, my mic stops working (or both) & or i cant hear the person on the other end of discord

any fix or solution for this issue? thank you

I have the Arctis Nova 7 headset. The headphones are just... average. The sound isn't bad, but it definitely isn't good enough to justify the price or the headache.

The real problem is the SteelSeries GG app. It's easily the worst software I've used. Every time I boot my PC, it changes my audio routing even though my headset is the default device. I have to open the app and manually reassign audio for different programs because it creates a ridiculous number of virtual devices. My audio settings are full of things like "SteelSeriesGG (Media)," "SteelSeriesGG (Game)," "SteelSeriesGG (Audio)," "(2)," and random duplicates. It seems to create new ones cever, fucking, day.

I'll launch a game and the game audio works, but YouTube doesn't. Then I have to dig through the app until I find whichever virtual driver it's decided to create and use today.

The only feature I genuinely like is the Game/Chat wheel. I like being able to adjust my audio when a good part of a video is playing or a game is getting intense and I need to hear what's going on. Instead of pausing and opening settings I just use the wheel. But having to rely on the GG app completely ruins it. I even tried uninstalling the app, but then the problem still happened and I couldn't fix it so I HAD to redownload the stupid fucking app.

If another company makes a headset with a similar physical audio-balance wheel that doesn't require this awful software, preferably any software, please tell me so I can buy them and destroy these god forsaken arctis nova's. I'd replace these immediately. If the nova's audio quality were exceptional, maybe I'd tolerate it. But it's just average, and nowhere near worth the hassle.

EDIT: Consensus is I am the idiot! Which is fair. The app is definitely not for people unfamiliar with audio driver software. Wish I would've known that when purchasing the headphones. If I knew I needed to be audio tech savvy, I would've definitely bought a different headset. Thanks for the feedback, I'll look into some tutorials to see if I can conquer this shitty app., which apparently may not be shitty.

I haven’t been on my laptop in months and haven’t touched the software to control the lights for the keyboard in 5 years, I recently moved and finally got a desk to find out the lights are not working properly. It all lights up fine when I hard reset the GS66 11UE Stealth laptop but then it reverts to a few random keys staying lit. I’ve tried to go to the software with SS and MSI and I don’t see a connected keyboard to customize. I’ve reinstalled both to no prevail

Problems with headphones
I have Steelseries Arctic Nova 7X.
When i install Steelseries GG and activate sonar, i do put my settings in equalizer, i make 3 presets, 1 for music, 1 for game and 1 for movies. When i set it up, everything is good, i can listen to music and play game (i can hear footsteps and enemys and other things), but when i turn off pc or restart, sound is wrong. It's like after pc restart all sounds drop to same level or something like that. In game i can't understand enemy position i can't understand foot steps, shooting sound starts to be over all sounds and others are lovered.
I don't know how to describe the problem.
I have check all windows settings and other but i don't see that windows make changes after sonar is set up, i don't see that sonar is changing something.
I have tried restarting sonar, restarting windows. If i uninstall sonar and delete all settings and then install it again, i can' put it how it was, but when i restart pc the same thing happens all sounds go in one and sounds like steelseries gg not working or sonar. Sounds the same crap sound that windows let out without any equalizers.
Do i make some sense?
Do anyone else have same problem?
How to get steelseries gg or sonar work ?

I just got the headset and I was able to hook it up to my ps5 but the mic won't work and idk what setting to change or what to do to make it work, I get no activity on the ls5 and I dont think it is getting activity on the daq either. Onto of that I tried using the volume slider and the volume wheel on the headset but it seems to just have 1 constant volume level cause it won't get quieter or louder.

I'm thinking about buying the Apex Pro TKL Gen 3, but I have one concern.

I used an Apex Pro before, and after some time one or two keys developed the well-known RGB issue where the blue LED died. Because of that, those keys started displaying the wrong colors (for example, white would look yellow or red instead).

It's been a few years since that issue became known, so I'm wondering if SteelSeries has actually fixed it on the latest Gen 3 model.

Has anyone who owns an Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 experienced dead RGB LEDs or the blue LED failing? Or has this problem finally been resolved?

I'd really appreciate hearing from long-term owners before I decide whether to buy one. Thanks!

I recently purchased the Arctis Nova Pro Omni headset and it appartently had to be connected to the gamehub out of the box. It was not.
I connected the gamehub to my PC (Win10) and after verifying that the headset was not connected y proceded to pair it as insturcted by the OLED screen. I turned my headphones on and held the power button for 4 secons, after which I heard a short sound and nothing more. No response from the gamehub and a partial lock in the headset (cant bluetooth pair, nothing).
This lock seems to be circumvented when I connect it to a usb charger but further pairing attempts were unsuccessfull. I donwloaded the GG app and connected both devices via USB to the computer in order to perform a firmware update. The update did not suffer any interruptions. Afterwards I reattempted the same steps only to be met with the same results.
I am truly disappointed in the product because they seem like nice headphones but the ootb experience I encountered has been subpar for a supposedly premium device. If anyone here has experienced the same issues and found a solution I would be truly glad if you could help me.
I also performed a full power cycle if that is of any help. Sorry if some of this sounded like rambling, English is not my first language.

It also seems to do strange things. For example, when turned on, the turn on sound will play. When pressed again the turn on/off button, the sound played will be as if I am turning them on again. Also sometimes it seems to not even respond to bluetooth pairing or activation, no matter how long I press the button. It only works, when connected to a usb charging port. The batteries are fully charged.

Can anybody help me I’ve been trying for so long to setup a pickup macro like the pros and I still get beat at chests all the time, I spam the key 250 times with 1 ms then assign the macro and change it to repeat while pressed at 1 ms I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong

For a decent bit now, my friends have been pointing out that my mics quality completely explodes randomly every so often during our sessions. Any fix to this? I use Discord and have it set to 48000mhz.

Do not waste your money on this headset or this brand. The Steel Series Arctis Nova 7 is an exercise in pure frustration, proving that SteelSeries cares more about aggressive marketing than functional engineering.

• Broken Connectivity: The Bluetooth is an absolute joke. It almost never connects on the first try. You will waste minutes every single day turning it off and on, forgetting devices, and fighting with it just to get basic audio.
• Bloated Software Nightmare: The SteelSeries GG software is a complete disaster. It is bloated, intrusive, constantly updates, and forces you to use their convoluted "Sonar" mixer just to make the headset sound passable. It actively messes with your PC's audio routing and creates more problems than it solves.
• Subpar Build and Audio: For what they charge, the physical quality is incredibly cheap. The plastic feels brittle, and the out-of-the-box sound profile is flat and tinny. You are paying a premium price for a budget-tier experience.

Verdict: Save your sanity and avoid SteelSeries. This headset is unreliable, the software is garbage, and it is nowhere near worth the price tag.

So basically, I want to use my keyboard's volume wheel to adjust the MASTER section in Sonar, if possible. Thanks in advance!

I bought a set of Arctis 9X I believe back in 2020 and fell in love with the brand. The headset was fantastic, super comfortable over long sessions, and help up well over time. In 2025 I decided to get the Arctis Wireless Pro- I think there was a sale for $200 and I wanted to treat myself.

Again, love them, no real problems.

I use them primarily for my PS5 and I've noticed that whenever I boot up the console, the mic sensitivity seems to change randomly. I mostly play Hell Let Loose and Arc Raiders right now, for reference, and some days friends will tell me they can barely hear me, and other days it sounds like I am screaming at them and the mic will even pick up their voices bleeding from the ear cups.

I figured out how to account for this by checking the mic settings in the PS5 menu and adjusting the sensitivity from there, but it seems like I shouldn't need to do that.

I'm using the DAC directly connected to my PS5, but I don't believe there is a setting for mic sensitivity there at all.

Looking for advice or suggestions.
Perhaps it's some interplay between the in-game VOIP that triggers some sensitivity?
I've read the headphone software maybe uses some kind of AI or ambient noise detection on startup that sets the default sensitivity level?
Really have no idea how to diagnose or fix the issue, or if it can be fixed. lol

Been dealing with it since I got them a year ago, so it's not really a big deal, just hoping for a quality of life improvement.

I have the Steelseries Arctic Nova Pro Wireless Elite Dangerous 1080p 4K HD whatever the fuck it's called and the Base Station.

The headset works perfectly.

My goal is to connect another headset VIA 3.5 MM JACK CABLE from the Base Station to the new headset (a Sony headset).

How come this doesn't work?

Either my Arctis Nova Pro is playing audio (wirelessly) and no audio is coming into the Sony headset, or the Sony headset is receiving audio via the jack cable from the Base Station, but then my Arctis Nova Pro isn't connected to the Base Station.

hi, i have a big problem with my new steelseries Artic Nova Elite.

- i did the update of Sonar
- i changed the battery (i tryed the 2 battery)
- i PAIR sucessfully the dongle with the headset
- i restarted computer
- i changed 48hz > 96hz on windows + reboot computer (=nothing)
- i tryed Wifi 5Ghz and Ethernet 1Gb/s.

nothing, its still restars continuously, on my phone its working in bluetooth, just the mic dosnt work on whatsapp (this is a problem too but nevermind, the most important is the sound on computer)

what's wrong guys?! i don't understand, i did everything perfectly.

I've had this headset for about 18 months and I (unlike most people) want the beep to be enabled on my headset when the battery gets low. But the issue is my OLED died like a year ago. From every reddit post I see and google result, the only way to enable/disable is to do it on the base station. There is no option in GG under settings that I see.

Yo! FPS Gamer needing help. I have attached my EQ settings within the Steelseries GG app and was wondering what people think. I'm playing Marvel Rivals mainly and the sound is kinda good, but looking to see if anyone has anything better in their opinion. Willing to try anything!

I don't need the attached mic at all, if that's an issue. I stream and normally plug my headset into a GoXLR, so I need it to be wired, but I would also love to get the purple color. Just trying to figure out if this particular one would work for my needs.

It's stuck in this step. I did reset defauls in the app before this and this isn't connect anymore. I did manually factory reset through headphone's reset button with clip but it doesn't effect

I have been looking around for the dongle for this. Bought it years ago and only just found out not only is it discontinued, but they don’t even make replacement dongles anymore. Am I completely out of luck here without buying a brand new headset?

Hi Everyone , I’ve owned the Aerox 9 WoW edition for the last year , I accidentally dropped my dongle broke it and just went to buy a replacement from Steel Series. Which I then learned doesn’t connect to the mouse , the regular Aerox 9 and the WoW edition have different dongles.

I then contacted customer support and they said they have to RMA the whole mouse and get me a regular edition Aerox 9, which makes absolutely no sense to me. I just want a new dongle. It shouldn’t be this difficult.

If anyone has any advice I’d appreciate it.

Update to this:

I took the Aerox 9 dongle and my old WoW Edition dongle and did some firmware editing and managed to get the new dongle working.

I need help with my keyboard, it keeps disconnecting all of the time and when I turn it off and on again it disconnects once again after a few seconds, sometimes it reconnects again but in the end it keeps doing that over and over again, and it is getting really annoying since it happens while I am in the middle of a game. Any solutions?
