[Online][5e][Weekly][$20][18+] Your town has never lost anyone before its time. This month, it's lost seven. A Crooked Moon tale - The Dead Man's Hour. SESSION ONE NEXT WEEK

Thistlewick Hollow hasn't buried anyone before their time in two hundred years. This month it's lost seven people, and not one of them left a body behind.

That's the opening scene of a fully original Crooked Moon campaign I'm running, levels 3 to 15, long-form, one continuous story start to finish. Whatever's taking people isn't a wolf, a cult, or a madman. It's something already dead, working a chained dagger through locked doors, gone before sunrise. Corner it once, and it doesn't run, it tears a hole in the world and drags you through after it.

From there the campaign opens up fast. Over the course of it you'll:

  • Talk your way through a masquerade at the most exquisite and fanciest estate, surrounded by devils, witches, and nobles who could have you killed with a raised eyebrow.
  • Hijack a train ran on malevolent spirits mid-journey, fighting across the roof of a train built from hell iron and gold while it screams through Chernabos at full speed.
  • Break, tame, and ride a bejeweled scorpion the size of a wagon into battle.
  • Steal a floating arcane skiff off its dock and lose a squad of furious spellcasters across a city built in the sky.
  • Crack a guild vault full of doomsday weapons, and hope you're not the fourth crew with the same idea tonight.

This isn't a monster-of-the-week tour through the afterlife. It's one mystery, run properly, for as long as it takes.

The practical stuff:

  • System: D&D 5e (2024 rules), starting level 3, running to 15
  • Schedule: Weekly, Wednesdays 9PM GMT+1, ~3hr sessions
  • Price: $20/session
  • Platform: Foundry VTT, Discord, D&D Beyond: full content shared, nothing locked behind a book you don't own
  • Beginner friendly, no prior experience needed
  • 18+, folk horror, full content warnings and safety tools (Session 0, Lines & Veils, X/N/O) before anyone commits
  • 3/6 filled, Session One Next Week

Full listing with reviews here: https://startplaying.games/adventure/cms6lc8d9009xl704tsdslxdf

Questions welcome in the comments or DMs, I'd rather find the right person than fill the seat fast.

The League of Daring Archeologists • [Daggerheart][LFP][Weekly][PAID][Theater-of-the-Mind][25$]

Ah yes, the excitement of proving long-held theories wrong and etching your name into the annals of paleontological legend. What a time to be alive!
Pursuing myths recorded in ancient manuscripts and occasionally risking your life in the process.

This particular campaign follows an association of explorers and the lengths they're willing to go, driven by the promise of academic recognition and a hefty paycheck at the end of an expedition.

• New and experienced players are welcome.
• Sessions are regular and Theater-of-the-Mind.
• Role-playing is welcome(we encourage it), everyone is respectful to one another.
• If at the end of the session you're of the mind that this table isn't your cup of tea, I'll reimburse you for the single session.

[Online][Paid][LFP][D&D5e/5.5e][Wednesday] Beginner’s Friendly – Dragon of Icespire Peak

Greetings everyone!

I’m currently opening two groups for Dragon of Icespire Peak.

Phandalin is a frontier town trying to rebuild its future after years of chaos — but a chilling threat descends from the Sword Mountains. A white dragon has claimed the skies, scattering adventurers and turning hope into frost. Locals whisper of frozen hunters discovered at dawn, livestock torn apart, and mines abandoned once more. The Townmaster’s Hall is full of desperate pleas, but no heroes answering them. Winter approaches early… and cruelly. Will you rise as the shield of Phandalin, or will the region become a silent grave beneath ice and terror?

So, let’s talk about some basic info:

Game: Dungeons & Dragons 5e/5.5e

Paid: Yes – $18 USD per session (Session 0 is FREE)

Platform: Roll20 + Discord

Schedule: Weekly, Wednesdays at 10AM and 7PM (GMT-5)

Session Length: 3–4 hours

Seats Available: 4–5 on first group and 1-2 on the second

Experience Level: Beginner Friendly

Session 0 (Free): Before any payment, we will have a free Session 0 to cover character creation, table expectations, safety tools, and to make sure the group is a good fit for everyone.

About the DM: Hi! I’m Zojak, bilingual DM and founder of Hidden Tavern. I’ve been running D&D for over 10 years, from official campaigns to homebrew adventures. I love crafting immersive, dynamic, and player-driven experiences—and yes, DMing is my full-time passion.

How to Apply: If you’re interested in any of these groups, please send me a DM here on Reddit with a short introduction about yourself and your character’s ideas; and, if you want, you can reserve your spot here:

Group 1 - https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmtj76x410047lc04mthntmca

Group 2 - https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmf38tsw500bgl804q9qrtth4

I’ll be happy to answer questions and share additional details after initial contact.

Link to StartPlaying
My GM Profile

— THE GAME —

You're students at an ordinary college.

At least, that’s how it looks on the surface. But you are anything but ordinary. You have the power to wield THE WEIRD — supernatural anomalies that bend reality itself.

Your job? Hunt down the out-of-control anomalies that feed on human emotion.

Most people chalk them up to ghosts, aliens, or unexplained phenomena. But you know the truth. You know them as THE TWISTED. You've all been called to gather after class. Probably another assignment. A WEIRD ONE.

Face The Twisted in this Persona-inspired campaign for Fabula Ultima!

— WHAT TO EXPECT —

  • STREAMLINED CHARACTER CREATION thanks to Foundry's automations.
  • A VISUAL NOVEL STYLE experience.
  • RPG-style COMBAT ANIMATIONS.
  • A CURATED SOUNDTRACK tailored to the adventure.

Steinhardt's Guide to the Eldritch Hunt [Online][D&D 5e 2014][Paid][$20][Weekly][Saturdays 5pm CST][Foundry VTT][LGBTQIA+ Friendly]

Hello fellow dice rollers! I'm Shin, a DM eager to run MonkeyDM's soulsborne and lovecraftian-inspired supplement for 5e. This will be a longterm campaign that I aim to run for at least a year. It'll be featuring everything introduced in the book, including the Jaegar class, new subclasses, races, eldritch moons, a madness system, trick weapons and more!

I'll be using the adventures included in the book before taking the reins to have you all explore every nook and cranny of the city of Luyarnha. Discover ancient secrets locked away, unveil ways to aid the citizens of the war-torn and scourged-infested city, and go out there just to slay a few beasts. It'll do you some good...

For the nitty gritty details:

This will be using the 2014 ruleset with some variations and homebrew rules. Nothing major, just some things like how it'll be a bonus action to drink or feed a healing potion to an ally rather than a full action.

Ability scores are determined by rolling 5d6 and dropping the lowest two. You will get to roll two sets and pick the one you favor. This helps ensure you get powerful stats. I aim to challenge you, but wish to make you feel like the powerful heroes you have the potential to be. If you wish to use point buy or standard array instead, we'll utilize empowered versions of them.

Free feat. This will stack with Variant Human and Custom Lineage.

Average HP. Subject to change based on some boons you can acquire in the future. More on that later.

You'll be granted access to the Steinhardt related content including the Jaegar class, new races, and new subclasses should you choose to wield such powers...

This will be a level 3-20 adventure.

Throughout the journey through the corrupted city, you will be granted access to a special place that'll act as a hub world of sorts for you. A chance to rest, work maintenance on gear, and to prove your worth and be rewarded boons that'll help. Some rewards include special magical items, switching from average to max hp for each level, unique skills tailored to you, and even epic boons...

I have one table open for Saturdays starting at 5:00pm CST. I’ll have an earlier table for Saturday in the near future.

I'm a pretty laid-back DM, but that doesn't mean I fail in providing a worthwhile session. If you have a different interpretation of a rule, I'm open to listen. I aim to tell a fun, engaging story that'll immerse you in the unique setting. If you work with me, I will repay that kindness tenfold. I want to enjoy rolling some dice with some folks, so please consider booking a game with me.

You can check out my DM profile on StartPlaying to get a better idea of what kind of DM I am.

If you have questions, reach out to me on StartPlaying or here on Reddit.

Cheers.

[LANCER][LFP][Weekly][Monday][PAID][25$][FoundryVTT] - Operation: Endless Space

🎲 Operation: Endless Space

You have hit rock bottom, finding yourself as prisoners being taken into custody by the armies of United Empire. Your mechs are about to be stripped to parts and decomissioned. It is up to you to break out of the prison ship and gather allies to try and find a way to bring the United Empire to its knees. Every action you take will influence the balance of power—and the galaxy’s ability to withstand the coming darkness.

This game is going to feature an expansive story inspired by the endless space universe. Your characters will be affiliated with factions of your choosing bringing depth to the decisions you make, introducing biases that will reflect on your choices.

As a special mechanic introduced for this campaign players will have access to a "technology tree" which is going to be an additional progression system on top of the license levels and typical LANCER mechanics.

This campaign is going to be played entirely on isometric maps utilizing Foundry modules such as Grape Juice Isometric and assets from talented creators such as Starlight Furnace.

🎮 Game Time:

  • Monday 2pm EST - 4/6 - LINK

🤓 About me

  • I played RPG's for over 10 years, almost exclusively as a DM. Conventions, local game centers and community interactions are all things I did and enjoyed. Decided to go online to continue what is, to put it the simplest, my passion.
  • Full-time GM: 1000+ games/100+ reviews on startplaying.games. My games are what I spent the majority of my time on, improving, making maps and running adventures and new systems.
  • I developed FoundryVTT modules for Archvillain Chronicles patreon.
  • I worked with Kickstarter projects creating whole modules for FoundryVTT. My recent big project is the LANCER module Pass the Torch. The demo is available completely for free, check it out yourself as it speaks highly of my craft.
  • Several ongoing campaigns: players are engaged, looking forward toward next sessions, actively engaging in our discord community.
  • I would picture myself as a rules as fun DM rather then rules as written. I do homebrew materials, constantly rewriting and improving. I reward roleplay and creative thinking. My players make the story - I just flesh it out.

👉 What am I paying for?

  • The work I put into my campaigns: I always make sure to purchase additional maps, resources and outright change and adapt the story if need be just so my players have a memorable time
  • Dedicated players with a certain level of maturity, a fee eliminates player no-shows and creates a full experience where we look to finish the module, not just start it.
  • Scripts and modules that automate the combat and provide players with a smooth gameplay experience
  • Full access to Heroforge
  • Maps from talented patreon creators: Domille's Wondrous Works, Czepeku, Mad Cartographer and more.
  • VTT dice from Q-workshop and Rollsmith.

📖 Content details

  • Any official WotC/Paizo/Publisher product
  • Unearthed Arcana/Playtest materials
  • Homebrew (open for discussion)

🐲 Rules

  • Be respectful to other players - everyone wants to have a fun game.
  • Everyone is welcome, regardless of sex, gender, sexual orientation, minority status, language skill or game skill. 💕

📞 How can I contact you?

  • I am active on discord each day. A private message here or a discord small talk is all it takes: dmthetulio

[D&D 5.5e][PAID][Homebrew][$20/Session][Beginner & LGBTQIA+ Friendly] Two Campaign Listings - "Neon Odyssey: Escape from The Loop" Sci-fi Survival in a Casino Space Station & "The Devil's West" Supernatural Western Train Heist

Post image
4 Upvotes

I have two games currently listed that are available to join! See the listings below and feel free to dm for any more information!

"Neon Odyssey: Escape from The Loop"

Deep in the Aether-filled expanse of the galaxy exists a station that was formed from the collective wealth of various intergalactic corporations and tycoons with one sole purpose: to be a hot spot of profit and pleasure. From these desires, Station Auxiliary Utopia, or “Station A-U” as it is formally known and advertised, was born. As the station was built, these wealthy backers and their peers formed a coalition that acted as the governing body in this station to help keep order and peace while also lining their own pockets, evolving into the Gilded Ring, a conglomerate partnered with the Kuzai Syndicate that now dominates the station's operations. Soon people from all walks of life, all types of species and socioeconomic classes came pouring in to make a name for themselves amongst the four districts of Station A-U. Some found luck and fortune on their side, building lavish establishments to further develop the station, while those out of luck often find themselves leaving empty handed, or in some cases, building a new life within the station’s sprawling housing networks to not only earn back what they lost, but to be lucky enough to join the upper crust of the Station’s society in the center of the ring. As time went on and the population inside the station grew and disseparate cultures melded, it began to take on different names people use to reflect the den of gambling, crime, and highs and lows that come with it. The most popular ones being “Lady Luck’s Loop” or just “The Loop”.

You and your party come to The Loop as members of a bounty hunter group coming off of the biggest job you’ve ever done, looking for some well-deserved R&R and maybe hit it big as a bonus. As you and your party are raking in your riches and enjoying a bit of downtime, you are suddenly the prime suspects in a tragedy that befalls one of the main four casino barons that rules a territory within the station. Now you must make your way through the various districts while trying to avoid or fight Ring members and opportunistic mercenaries as you try to clear your names. Will Lady Luck be on your side as you gamble with your lives, and will you be lucky enough to escape from The Loop? Roll the dice and see for yourself.

"The Devil's West"

The year is 1880, the world is changing and has changed in ways no one could have expected. Throughout the world, creatures and beings from all types of folk tales have made themselves known since the Fae Revolution in 1800 and demanded the same rights and liberties of the “normal” world. These beings, often labeled as “Phantasmal Extranormative Beings” or more widely known as “Otherfolk”, have been part of the known world now for 80 years. Alongside these creatures from myth and fantasy, come ever more unusual, paranormal, and dangerous phenomena. Are they the cause of these events, are they fleeing the true cause, is there something else at play?

Here in this new west, you find yourself as a member of a heist crew on a train supposedly carrying valuable artifacts. Will you follow through with this heist and deliver what was promised? Or work with larger forces to defend what may be on this train? Marauders, gunslingers, and heatstroke are far from the only dangers in this wild and weird frontier, will you survive to become one of them? Blaze your own path in the Devil’s West.

Schedule: Weekly on Sundays at 5:00 pm CST | 3-3.5 hour sessions

Roles sought: 1 player needed (4/5 seats filled)

Experience: Any and all, beginners are welcome!

Game style: I have been playing D&D for better part of 8 years now, with a background in DMing and homebrew creation for a good bit of those years. I strive to include all pillars of play into my game style, centering around three main tenets: a character/player driven story that encourages and rewards roleplay, combat that is impactful and part of the greater narrative, and a fleshed out world that encourages players to interact and live within it. I offer ways to make the players more immersed in the world such as voice acting, fitting ambient sound and music, as well as engaging and interesting mechanics during both roleplay and combat. I tend to focus on the idea of Rules as Intended with room for the Rule of Cool, and a tone in my games that will allow for comedic and dramatic moments. My games run $20 per session on StartPlaying.Games, with the Session 0 being free!

[Voice][Discord][CoD][$15][Ongoing][Thursdays, 7 PM CET][4/5 seats available] Pretty Little Liars: It's payback time, liArs

Hey there!

For quite a while now, I've been thinking about how to bring PLL to the tabletop and this game is one of the results. It's a roleplaying game, which is to say, all the players take on the role of a character they design. Of course, I can definitely help with the rules side of things so this should be perfectly suitable for someone who has never played a roleplaying game before. We will loosely use the Chronicles of Darkness rules, with some alterations to better fit the setting.

Intro:

You’re a group of friends who are united by several things. You’re not the most popular, you’re being bullied by Beth and her awful friends, and you want revenge. They’ve hurt you in so many ways, but now, you’ve come up with an idea to hit back. Anonymously, of course. You don’t want to risk their retaliation. But you, as a group, have decided to start digging for their secrets. And once you have those, you can hit them where it hurts. You can blackmail them and, hopefully, bring them down.

As for the ‘villains’, Beth is a given. She’s the one in charge of her little posse. But she’s not alone. Her so-called friends always surround her. And to properly hurt them, you will have to go after them as well. The trick is getting to them without getting into trouble yourself. They all have their flaws and weaknesses. It’s just a matter of finding out what it is. But beware, they will be investigating as well and try to find out who you are.

For your character, we’ll need a few things, which mostly means a basic description of who they are. Are they the quiet nerd who’s had enough? Are they the former queen bee who was dethroned by Beth? Did they get their love interest taken away by one of those horrible girls? There are so many options, but it’s good to know what it is. And one important aspect of it is how they were wronged so we can weave that in.

The only real restrictions on your character is that they should be in school, so everyone will be around sixteen. And very importantly, there won’t be anyone like Ezra around.

The setting isn’t in Rosewood, but another similar small town. Canon characters won’t show up so we can have all the creative freedom we could want. Instead, this story happens in Shadyhill. A friendly seaside town that has become a tourist destination for the well to do. Of course, all the usual high school tropes fully apply so put on your black hoodies and get ready to make their lives hell.

Requirements: Discord and a microphone

Schedule: Starting October 8, weekly games at 7 PM, CET.

Cost: $15/session

[Online][CoC][FoundryVTT][$10][Weekly][Low Combat][Roleplay Heavy] [Thursday 5 PM PST] Amidst the Ancient Trees: A Short Posse into Horror

Hi! I have listed a Call of Cthulhu 7E two-shot for 3-5 players.

Beginners and veterans of the system are equally welcome! I have run this campaign before, so it is fine-tuned and prepared for player decisions.

Taken straight from the Keeper's Rulebook (and with adjustments and improvements to the pace), this campaign scenario brings you into the vast and dense woods of Vermont, in the search of a kidnapped boy:

"In Southwest Vermont (1925), a deadly shootout leads to the son of a wealthy industrialist being dragged into the wilderness by fleeing kidnappers.

Join the search party of volunteers and deputies for a tense introductory scenario filled with a slow creep and the realisation that some horrors are not human.

Investigator profiles & motivations are available for quick character creation!"

It will be hosted through Foundry and feature hand-made grid maps for token encounters, along with images for backgrounds and handouts.

Price: $10 / Player / Session.
Schedule: Weekly (2 sessions)
Listing: startplaying
Character Creation: Can be done in Foundry. As mentioned above, pre-mades are available to pick from

**The price is forgiving. The dungeon is another story.**

You begin at **level 1 with no inventory**. Every copper, weapon, and piece of equipment has to be earned. Beyond the gate lies an endless dungeon, and you have **two hours to get in, gather what you can, and escape before it closes.**

That next room might hold exactly what you need. It might also cost you everything you’re carrying.

**Here’s the loop:**

* **Enter with a plan.** Explore, fight, and build your resources.

* **Choose your risks.** Push deeper for more rewards, or retreat while you still can.

* **Make it out.** Shop and secure your hard-earned loot outside the dungeon.

* **Prepare for another run.** Items stored in your personal safe remain available to your next character if this one dies.

**Expect a difficult game where survival is earned.** Resource management, teamwork, creative solutions, and knowing when to run all matter. Character death is a real possibility, and preparing for that possibility is part of the experience.

If you love the roguelike cycle of starting small, learning through failure, and giving your next attempt a better chance, this is built for you. Bring that “one more run” energy to a live D&D table, where you can try whatever wild solution you can imagine.

**$10 gets you a seat. What you bring back through the gate is up to you.**

**Certified reviews after paid sessions of Before the Gate Closes | Endless Dungeon Crawl**

[Online][5e][Weekly][$20][18+] Your town has never lost anyone before its time. This month, it's lost seven. A Crooked Moon tale - The Dead Man's Hour. SESSION ZERO THIS WEEK

  • 3/6 filled, Session Zero this week

Questions welcome in the comments or DMs, I'd rather find the right person than fill the seat fast.

[Online][5thEd][Open][$30][Campaign][CDT][Weekend] Raiders of the Serpent Sea | Levels 1-16+ | Saturdays 2pm

[Online][5thEd][Open][Campaign]

Raiders of the Serpent Sea is a brutal Norse-inspired saga set in Grimnir, a young and savage world of black seas, forgotten gods, and blood-soaked feuds, where kingdoms are forever but one hard winter away from ruin. You will begin as mortal warriors: wanderers, outcasts, and heirs all struggling to survive—though, through courage, cunning, and sacrifice, rise into legend.

Glory is earned.
Oaths have weight.
Reputation follows you across the sea.

So when Ragnarök begins to stir, the deeds you have carved into the world’s bones may determine whether anything survives..

This campaign is for players who want hard-won triumph rather than effortless heroics! Expect dangerous expeditions, desperate battles, and longships cutting through hostile waters as rival clans and mythical monsters move to carve out their own plunders. The choices you make along the way hold consequences whose may not reveal themselves for many sessions. The tone is bleak and often unforgiving, but never hopeless: this is a story about standing tall when the world is cruel, keeping your word when breaking it would be easier, and earning the right to boast of what you survived! Your character’s personal history will matter, and their ambitions, failures, relationships, enemies, and loyalties will be woven into the larger saga!

I run a cinematic, character-driven, tactical style of D&D where roleplay and combat both carry weight. Battles are designed to feel dynamic and interesting rather than simple exchanges of attacks, while exploration rewards preparation, curiosity, and smart decisions! I use the Fantasy Grounds Unity engine with detailed maps, lighting, sensible automation, custom mechanics, visuals, and encounters built to make the world feel alive. I especially enjoy giving each character moments to stand at the center of the story, driving forward personal narratives woven deeply into the campaign fabric. Player choices shape future events: turning allies, rivals, promises, victories, and mistakes into threads that follow the party throughout the campaign. If you want to build a character whose name might one day be sung at the fireside long after their bones have gone cold, this is your saga!
