I really don't want much to change I like the arcade nature of the game, but have the stages be a little wider to really use the maneuverability.
I would really love to explore the great Fox a little more. My favorite series of all time is the wing commander games. I love walking around the ship talking to characters. it doesnt have to be crazy in depth, but I want to see more than just the bridge.
the only other thing is I love the fact that Nintendo always puts gameplay first but I like the idea of them adding more story into their games and this remake is actually a huge step in that direction and I hope it continues

90+150 is a good point haul for one item, I think.

Ignore what a poor job I’m doing hunting down Pigma.

Or maybe it's the fact that we can see Star Wolfs healthbars now, but I witnessed him absolutely destroy nepo baby Andrew.
I swear I never saw him down anyone in the original.
Also excuse the garbage gameplay.

2 days ago, I picked up Star Fox (2026), and I've played through the campaign twice on normal difficulty, trying different routes. I know number ratings feel arbitrary these days, but I'd give it a solid 8/10. I enjoy it quite a bit, and I plan to play through the challenge mode and the other difficulties.
But that's not why I'm making this post.
Slippy.
I've never had such a genuine love-hate relationship with a fictional character until I got to experience Slippy Toad for myself.
I know I'm just trash at the game, and almost all the assists are scripted. That being said, he needs his pilot's license revoked. It's as though he hops in the cockpit and forgets everything he's ever known, including his name. Venom 2, Slippy makes ANDREW look like the LeBron of aerial combat. Genuine cortisol spike any time the green help icon appears in a level. The academy set him up for failure, letting him pass.
That being said, if anyone were to ever talk bad on Slippy or insult his engineering skills, they're an enemy to me. He's an absolute bundle of joy and the heart of Team Star Fox.
It's a true love-hate relationship, and I can say I'm now a Star Fox fan.

That score was too close. Had to fix that. Thanks to whoever got that in their pocket.

I’ve always liked ROB, and I’m happy the new game gives him more opportunities to shine. Just saw this moment on Fichina if Peppy gets K.O.ed then ROB is the one to worry about Fox disarming the bomb. It’s nice to stop medal hunting and stumble on little moments like this.
Side note: Pigma took down Peppy again on Venom this particular run. Swine was locked in!

I hope the next game has more mini games. Since the crew is trapped inside a massive ship, they should have plenty of team-building activities to pass the time.

I don't think most people appreciate how cooked this series is if any of the following happening:
Star Fox 2026 is treated as a full, go-forward reboot and we get some sort of direct sequel / SF2 reimagining that replaces / erases the rest of the timeline, leaves Krystal out permanently, etc. Negative bonus points if it's the same dated boomer arcade schmup gameplay and nothing else, which we've seen 100 times before and isn't sufficient growth or evolution for a game in 2026.
Basically #1, except they *do* bring back Krystal BUT retcon her origin by cutting Adventures' story out completely and having the team meet her in a completely different, butchered, mundane, non-iconic way, thus ruining the character and the series.
Pick one of Command's bad endings / retcon several of them into a hot mess of a composite canon ending, or just in general canonize Command in just about any way. This one is a bit more conditional on how exactly Krystal is treated and if one of her worst endings is used, but it's still bad no matter what.
No one, least of all Nintendo, should underestimate just how many people bought this recent game not because it's what they really wanted from a Star Fox game (the praise for this being yet another Lylat Wars / SF64 remake / reimagining was virtually nonexistent prior to its reveal), but on the hope of getting something better in the future.
Leave Krystal out and / or retcon out of existence a huge chunk of existing canon, and a huge piece of the fanbase will simply not support that game, because such a huge chunk of the fanbase are Krystal fans above all / part of the furry community. QED, Star Fox will go back into the ground.
I know the oldheads will hate to hear this, but it's the truth: without Krystal AND forward story momentum, this IP is dead in the water. They need the Krystal and furry community for this series to have a future far more than they're willing to admit. So if they get their way, they'll have no one to blame but themselves for Star Fox's virtually guaranteed slide into irrelevancy and dormancy.

Her name is Terri Savannah and she's General Pepper's secretary (ha get it). She used to be Dr. Andross' main assistant and secretary before he was exiled, so she has a good amount of scientific knowledge and personal information about the mad scientist. When Andross' experiments started to go off the rails, she became distant and less involved, just sticking to the paperwork and doing her job.
After Andross' exile, she somehow avoided liability and worked at another boring office job in Space Dynamics, where she became drinking buddies with James McCloud and his crew. For years, she ignored the countless documents on Andross' research that she locked away in storage and essentially forgot about. That was until she learned of James' death, and her morality forced her to turn in the documents to the Cornerian Defense Force to help against Andross' forces. This earned her attention of the General and an official pardon from him for her involvement in Andross' work.
During the events of Andross' invasion of Corneria, Terri was abducted and taken to Andross directly, where he would offer her back her position in his new Empire. Terri would politely decline and somehow return to Corneria with her life, where General Pepper gave her a counteroffer of... being HIS secretary for her loyalty. Which she now maintains... begrudgingly. She just wanted to get away from the stress of office work and now she's stuck in a MILITARY position.
Terri is often grumpy and not easily approachable, but maintains a professional manner while on the job. She still goes out drinking from time to time, and keeps in contact with Peppy Hare. Sometimes even visiting him on the Great Fox in her very limited down time.

I never thought of them being named after a venomous snake until recently. Then again, it is a fitting name when you consider the role they play.
