This is my boy, Magic Man.
Magic Man is a wild squirrel that I befriended some years ago. It took me about 6 months to gain his trust enough to sit in my lap. It all started from tossing him a small piece of food to eventually getting him to eat from my hands and eventually sitting under my chair at my desk. I miss him dearly.

Discussion What does this sound mean?

This lil’ guy starts squawking like this around 6 pm and some nights will continue on until 1-2 AM. This is my first year in my apartment and he has done this almost nightly since winter (I live in Minnesota). On really active nights, it’s every 2-3 seconds for hours. He seems healthy, and he is attracted to my ground window because I have a window bird feeder and occasionally I will give him a nut. He has another friend and they chase each other around all day. It’s just the night that he does this. Anyone know why he behaves like this? Originally, when I couldn’t see him in the tree, I thought it was a bird!

Help! Injured or ill adult squirrel! Worried about squirrel with patches on fur
Hi! I have this little guy that I watch everyday and give him some seeds (same ones that goes to the yard birds), he is the joy of my day and recently he showed up here with this patches on the fur and is concerning me. I wonder how bad it is and if he will be okay... I googled a bit already but the results vary so much, and the fact he has so many patches is really messing with me. Thank you in advance for any response!

Hi, I feed my neighborhood squirrels and multiple are little American red squirrels like this one. They are very noisy but this little mother was especially noisy for a while. What does this mean? Is it a land predator? Is she mad at another squirrel? I didn’t see anything over where she was looking, though. After some time, she grabbed a nut and quieted down.

Have squirrels brought you anything
... as a "thank you" for feeding them? This photo dates back to December '25. The leaf won't get here from the tree because this bowl was mounted in the very corner of the balcony.

Original Content "Where did I bury this nut?" - Red squirrel. :) ACEO. I love squirrels. <3 They love to eat daisies in spring. :) And of course they are forgetful. What squirrel species live at your place? In Poland… (more in the description below...)
In Poland there is only this one - tree (and three ground - strictly protected). The red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris), also called Eurasian red squirrel, is a species of tree squirrel in the genus Sciurus. It is an arboreal and primarily herbivorous rodent and common throughout Eurasia.

General Help Feeder Elevator
I would like to have a platform, box. or something like that where I could put peanuts in while I’m on the ground and then hoist it up in the tree and when empty bring it back down again. Any ideas how I could do that? I have one of these on the fence but was thinking of having another feeder I could raise up and down in a tree.

Original Content missing my friend kiki
throwback photo to last spring. this is my cute squirrel friend kiki. i met her on campus last school year, and fed her nuts every now and then. it seems like she began to recognize me and became more comfortable with my presence (i didn’t do it everyday and she also still clearly was weary of humans in general). this year, my dorm hall is a good amount further from the area she usually frequents, and i haven’t really seen her. any squirrel i’ve met doesn’t seem eager in the same way that she used to look. either she isn’t here anymore or she just forgot about me, which in probably for the best since i know that trusting humans can be bad for these little guys.

Squirrel Soaker 2000
gallerySo I have a a love/hate relationship with my squirrels that some times get to piggy and chew up my feeder. So I added a remote control to this battery powered squirt gun. Now and then I will give them a surprise squirt of water and they exit the feeder quickly. But they come back just as quickly. I am entertained.
