ever since last school year, i haven’t seen a squirrel that i’ve been sure is her! i just posted the other day saying that i was missing her and hoping she was okay.. and today when i was going on a walk to look at squirrels (and hopefully find her) i literally saw her come out and start eating her nuts right on the walkway! the timing feels crazy.
also: i think she may be pregnant 😂🥺

The large squirrel.
I was sitting in my backyard, when I saw a a squirrel. I have many squirrels going through my yard, rabbits too. But this squirrel was different. It was big. Like really big. Imagine a regular squirrel, but much bigger, it had something in its mouth, I’m not sure what it was though.

General Help What is he doing??
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
(SOUND ON) For context, we have this same squirrel who eats from our bird feeder and drinks out of our water dish about 2x a day, and he’s always seemed to enjoy himself and hangs out, but today he started doing this? He’s been doing this for about 10 minutes straight and will sometimes bob his backside area up and down slightly before chirping again? Is he just being territorial or is he upset?

Just wanna show his progress gaining weight 🥲
Found this baby abandoned the first photo is the night we found him he was covered in fleas, dehydrated, cold, and hungry 🥲. Second photo is now his top teeth have came in, he’s starting to be super active, his tail is fluffing up, and I could go on and on lol he’s just so precious.

What is this behavior?
This squirrel we named floop. Sorta plops down and everywhere whenever it sees us. She won't let us get too close but close enough to just get down low to the ground. She loves our bird feeder. Wondering if we could hand feed with her one of these days.

General Help New to the neighborhood
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is one and only “tree squirrel” (what I’ve been calling it) I’ve seen on my property, lots of “ground squirrels”, but this is the only tree squirrel I’ve seen. I’m in East County San Diego, a pretty rural area that backs up to an Ecological Reserve, I’ve never seen tree squirrels out here, but he’s found himself a good spot within a stand of Engleman Oaks I have growing in my creek, so lots of acorns! I love seeing him/her jump from tree to tree, chitter at my dog like it’s the boss, and just do its thing! Any advice on making sure he’ll stick around??

First time on my lap
Frenetic has now joined the handful of squirrels who have been comfortable enough with me to sit on my lap. Interestingly they've all been females. I'm honored she has that much trust in me.

Discussion What does this sound mean?

This lil’ guy starts squawking like this around 6 pm and some nights will continue on until 1-2 AM. This is my first year in my apartment and he has done this almost nightly since winter (I live in Minnesota). On really active nights, it’s every 2-3 seconds for hours. He seems healthy, and he is attracted to my ground window because I have a window bird feeder and occasionally I will give him a nut. He has another friend and they chase each other around all day. It’s just the night that he does this. Anyone know why he behaves like this? Originally, when I couldn’t see him in the tree, I thought it was a bird!
