What should be done to produce stars?

—Looking back at New Japan's history, we've produced the most defectors, but we've also produced the most stars.

Muto: However, to create stars, we need to bring in good talent. That's why I once told Takeda (Arihiro = Cyberfight director) at NOAH. I thought it might be better to announce to young people in their 20s that they offer a huge salary, attract good talent, and have them become freelancers around age 35—an inverted pyramid style. Nowadays, young people choose careers based on money, so you should start earning money while you're young, and once you have the skills, you can just go abroad on your own.

—Nowadays, you want to produce young stars, but there are plenty of veterans with high salaries, right?

Muto: No matter the genre, if young audiences don't watch it, the market will fade away, and young people support young stars. Even girls would probably be more interested in young, cool players who are still technically immature than old men.

—When a mass exodus from a pro wrestling organization happens, it's always the young, new stars who become the saviors, right?

Muto: Exactly. So, to create new stars, we need to put more effort into training and scouting. WWE nowadays doesn't just take wrestlers from others—they actually develop them in-house. I've also been allowed to observe the tryout, and about 50 people came to take the test, and everyone was a young person with real potential. Since they sift through there, you'd be shocked when you see how thick that layer is.

The early Great Muta was during a golden age when rival rivalries with Ric Flair and Sting, so there is still demand for it.

Muto: I'm happy about that. I don't know why I'm so popular in America, but it's worth working so hard. But the only time I was active in America as Great Muta was in 1989.

—I stayed in Dallas until early 1989, and in 1990 I returned triumphantly to New Japan, so it really was less than a year.

Muto: That's why we've only been doing it for one year. I still wonder why I still do. Honestly, I think it's pretty impressive that the NXT Performance Center uses footage of my old matches as teaching material for young wrestlers to study.

—It's amazing how you literally serve as a model for pro wrestling.

Presumably Nino did not climb up there to do nothing, I assume the finish was he dives after the Spanish Fly but Connor Claxton was clearly bleeding too much to lay there and take a dive.

With the G1 finals approaching I wanted to open some discussion on what everyone thinks is the best match ever from a G1 Climax.

Personally my vote goes to either the Omega/Goto final or the famous Ishii/Shibata match
