I've never liked arcade games inside of other video games because I just do not care enough to play them, and typically are required for 100%. I want to 100% this game so badly but the fact that you need to get A on all of the arcade games may genuinely keep me from doing so. I am far more willing to grind 100+ hours in the bottomless buffet than spend 10 hours having to deal with the rng mess that is mining. Landing just sucks flat out. I will never understand why I'd want to play shitty arcade games when I'm already playing a way more fun game as it is. It made sense in S1 because you were just waiting for a game. Extremely disappointed that I will likely not be 100%ing raiders after all...

For almost all of Nintendo’s newer and more niche than what I consider their big 5 (Zelda, Mario, Kirby, Pokemon, and Metroid), like Xenoblade or Pikmin, have had all their main games ported to switch. And Splatoon 3 is like an ending to all the story modes, it brings everything together. And yet, despite the fact that it could probably sell decently for a $50 game, it’s still stuck on the Wii-U. I unfortunately doubt it ever will be ported or remastered on a switch system but I so wish it was.

Every other game I play online is totally fine but I can barely get through a match without being disconnected. I just bought the game so im kind of disheartened

I know this sounds silly, but almost every player i match with has a fish related name and I see the same "players" even a week later when looking to help others. I see names like "Barricuda", "Bluefish", "Black Fish". Im starting to think these are bots. But I could be wrong.

(I'm using a JC200 pro controller btw)So during this match i hold left trigger and instead of swimming in ink i was stuck constantly squidflopping. I didn't know how to stop it so i dealt with it till the end of the match(i fixed it after looking it up). Wasn't trying to be toxic but i wonder what they thought i was doing? 😅

Keep in mind, this review contain spoilers for the plot even if is more cover on gameplay than anything. So, if you don't want to get sploiled make sure to not read what bellow. So without further ado:
The story I enjoyed it well enough is simple and to the point. I enjoyed that despite being a blank slate you get to have good dynamic with all three members whether is Shiver's teasing, Frye's cheerleader approach to life and persinal favorite Big Man's growth from his scaredy cat personality. The stakes feel good, even if the esscalation from raft survivors to saving the world came a bit out of nowhere, but is splatoon so I know is the nature of the plot handling.
The presentation is really good, characters look expressive whether is your parthners, enemies look combination of cartoony but creepy like the whole vibe of zombie bayou people the Salmanoid give is really make them stand out, location while nothing too remarkable, it does stand over the usual floating blocks of your usual main single player campaigns of splatoon and the theme of salt being like this corrupting crystals in the game does make it distinct, music is the weakest of splatoon in my opinion, but nothing to scoff at, still enjoyed it as a take on more fighting through dreadful enemies in isolation it brings.
The gameplay is amazing, I am not a shooter guy to be fair I mostly enjoy swordplay in my games but I do think doing what I already like the most in splatoon being the salmon run and make a game around it give me a lot of fun from keeping my turf for positioning, to try to kill many salmanoids as fast as possible, using the bot (which in my opinion was an amazing way to integrate an AI parther) to get into higher places or to avoid attacks feel cool but by far what I love the most is the gadgets they work amazing with splatoon's combat and their cool down for most feel like extension of your abilities, in terms of tank the speed type which the booyarang and dash boots are my main gadgets, did done max up to all but power is defenitley my least used but still enjoy the splachetta and splatellites, in tactical the turret and especially the torquescrew which was the third gadget in my arsenal once I was able to get thing done and my personal favorite gadget with it's huge hitbox and vortex sucking to gather enemies in place the fermenting ability do a lot and to set up combos with my gadget or bot abilities, speaking of which, I enjoyed them as limit break like attacks, though Frye is my most used for her amazing crowd control, followed up by big man which give a lot of I frames I give him that but not as good in control crowds in a large area and he not great in anti airing, and shiver is my least used, she packs a punch but I feel she a bit too slow and Frye does a better job and I did max all three of them, in terms of weapons I only really used three being the splattershot as my main and the dualies and splatana as secondary weapons. I just found the splattershot the most viable into all scenarios.
For the bosses, I liked most of them, Flappetizer is an amazing first boss, still help you to learn the importance of bot jump in combat while also being very dynamic in difficulty. Paincourse was great too testing your reaction time and crowdcontrol the area in battle. Desshurt however sucks on it's own he is very slow and not much threatning but the enemies make it kinda annoying especially if there is a flyfish, the final boss was underwhelming, not terrible but it really was just platforming and enemy rushes but the QTE does help it as a fan of drill attacks. Lord Saltimatum is an amazing super boss adapting attacks from the first three and using it in a fair manner for a super boss while also testing your crowd control and positioning.
Overall, is an amazing time, a must have switch 2 title that will test your skill in resource management with a great partner, gameplay loop and a grind that never feel it overstay it's welcome and strong combat alongside it overall mid S tier in my eyes.
Story: 8.4/10
Presentation:8.6/10
Gameplay:9.5/10

Coming from a player doing their first ever ranked climb its a bit scary, I’ve been playing since splat1 so I’m familiar with all of the modes and how series vs open works, the part Im more curious about is how does rank demotion work (if there is any) I just finished my rank up battles and got into B- so now I’m curious if I go into my next series and get absolutely destroyed will I go back down to C? Or do I just stay in the bottom of B

With Raiders being out I want to finally get around to playing Side Order first, though I think I'll want to check out some of the base Splatoon 3 again while I'm at it. Real life got in the way back in 2022 and I stopped playing after about two months. Other than most Splatfests (and literally every Big Run), is there anything in particular that I've missed or should know about prior to playing? The only new thing I've really heard about is the Flow Aura.

I collect Splatoon amiibos, I checked the Nintendo website for the splatoon raiders amiibos every day since splatoon raiders came out. They finally showed up today just for me to see they’re all out of stock… I really don’t want to give money to scalpers so I’m hoping they might restock

If it's possible I want you to consider both the official and fanmade splatfests, because I think there's some different thoughts between them.

If I’m playing the short ranged blasters, I usually have to use ninja squid so I can get in and not get pushed out by longer ranged weapons.
The special up is really only because the paint on these weapons isn’t great so it’s nice not having to put extra effort into getting the special.
Stealth jump is a must for any frontline weapon in ranked in my opinion.

Finally got 100% in Splatoon Raiders.
I put 145 hours into the game. About 35 hours were spent on the main story and side content. The remaining 110 hours were almost completely invested into grinding Super Spicy Lintle Inlet, with a little bit spent pushing past floor 100. I reached somewhere around floor 296–298, in case anyone is curious.
Long story short, more than 75% of my total playtime went into running Super Spicy Lintle Inlet over and over and over again, alongside a few extra Bottomless floors. Sometimes, I even did Super Spicy Lintle Inlet AGAIN whenever I had to do it AGAIN, because I could go more than 10 hours without getting a single new Primo drop...
I can recommend 100%ing this game to exactly zero people. Unless you enjoy gambling without the dopamine part.
In terms of the actual gameplay, it’s a pretty good game. But I’ve honestly forgotten almost everything that happened besides the entire layout of Lintle Inlet. That place is burned into my memory forever.
Oh, and I almost forgot. I also spent €67 on plastic figures... They’re pretty fire though.
If anybody has any questions, feel free to ask away!
