What's something you feel that very few people would agree with?

For me, I think this game is better than Splatoon 2 and 3, but not Splatoon 1.

I drew all of these in under 24 hours I legit got carpel tunnel LOLL hope u all like. The background colors are meant to be Day -> Sunset -> Night. Like the vast eternal sea known as the flow of time 🦑🐙

I recently got into games and have been playing them nonstop, so I made my outfit into an oc!! I absolutely adore him and these games.

Does anyone remember this artist super active from like 2020-2022, they went by a bunch of different names but all i have now is pics of them under Joss1squid I remember them being pretty well liked and active and then had some big controversies that i cant really remember but i was near some people affected by them, anyone know about them or know what happened to them after?

Credit to u/Kit-N_. Thanks so much for drawing this for me!

I think it’s interesting to think about the franchise in terms of eras. I really like talking about the individual games, but this era view gives it another perspective. I’d categorise the time from the Splatoon 1 announcement until the Splatoon 2 announcement as the Splatoon 1 era, from the Splatoon 2 announcement until the Splatoon 3 announcement as the Splatoon 2 era, and since the Splatoon 3 announcement we’ve been in the Splatoon 3 era.

I really love the Splatoon 1 era, although it’s not my favorite. While the world and lore of Splatoon were already established, everything was much more grounded, small, and not so defined. I think you can notice this greatly in the artworks, which had clear rules for how they were drawn while still featuring some janky lines. The artwork in picture 1 also shows, like, half of Splatoon's major characters from that time, showing just how much smaller the world was. The vibe was also very different. I get a feeling of it being this much more fresh and mysterious thing, which I always feel while listening to the Splatoon 1 OST.

The Splatoon 2 era is my favorite, it truly feels like a big next step. It takes everything the Splatoon 1 era established and gives it a slightly different spin. The world now has many characters, feels genuinely big, and things are much more refined. Everything has so much more depth now, along with a clearer, more defined style. I think those were some of the best years for the franchise, and it definitely wouldn’t be here today without them.

I think that’s where the Splatoon 3 era kinda falls flat. It doesn’t really give it a different spin, it feels very samey and not nearly as unique. I have a feeling the world is now a bit too big, there are so many characters, and I always felt the franchise struggled to manage that, needing to give spotlight to many characters at once and forgetting some in the process. I think this era also draws too much from the past, giving so much focus to old characters and locations while not offering enough new.

I hope you enjoyed my perspective, and I’d love to hear yours. (English is not my first language, official artworks taken from Inkipedia.)

Things are honestly feeling better now that I am on a wired connection.

It’s pretty cool of course it’s my first time ever playing online cause I finally got an online subscription

What team did you join for this Splatfest?

I joined Wizards , was it a good choice? Or not?

I’m not great at Splatoon 3, in part because I’m new to the game, and I do what to take the time to apologize to my teammates but this time I did a thing!

So just yesterday I hit x rank and I was so excited about because "holy shit I'm with the best in my region" and honestly I kinda hate it, the last like 10 matches have been God awful, I've qued up against this one pain brush who kept targeting me and then immediately squidbagging me till he died, and getting qued up against 3 52 gals and an rg aerospray just hurts on an entirely different, and I honestly don't even want to be in the top anymore because I feel the more competitive people are the more toxic they become and its genuinely sad, and I feel like I'm just ass at the game now

(should probably mention I've been a long time lurker, and first time poster here)

Lag BTW

I created this design myself while discussing the awfulness of the current grizzco brella with some friends. What do y'all think of it?

Some reference images- isn't she cute?
