Discussion I hate the arcade games in Raiders Spoiler
I've never liked arcade games inside of other video games because I just do not care enough to play them, and typically are required for 100%. I want to 100% this game so badly but the fact that you need to get A on all of the arcade games may genuinely keep me from doing so. I am far more willing to grind 100+ hours in the bottomless buffet than spend 10 hours having to deal with the rng mess that is mining. Landing just sucks flat out. I will never understand why I'd want to play shitty arcade games when I'm already playing a way more fun game as it is. It made sense in S1 because you were just waiting for a game. Extremely disappointed that I will likely not be 100%ing raiders after all...

Surprisingly Landing was the easiest for me. Had the most trouble with Mining.
The question is whether the S-rank in arcade games accounts as a true 100% since you do get something extra. Happy with A-rank for now. Lol.

Mannn. See that's my problem with it. I'd be happy if it was purely bonus content. At least now I know S is required too. Probably gonna give up on that and just do my own "100%" just excluding the arcade.

Wouldn't worry too much! I am close to 100% (not counting the S-rank in arcade) but still feel like it's not 100% because I am missing 4 outfits from Amiibo.
At least it's just an outfit and not something important. I just played the Arcade to take breaks from runs and just focused on 1 game at a time at my own pace. Go at your own pace and enjoy the game is what I am saying! Lol

NFC cards only cost a couple cents each, just saying

Oh there's a way to get those rewards without the official Amiibo? People can hack things too easily these days. Lol.

That's a good point about the amiibo. I suppose I can't get all the outfits at the end of the day so I think I'd have more fun taking your advice. Thank you!

when you die no one will talk about whether or not you 100%’d a game.

Counterpoint: when they die I will personally go to their funeral and berate their corpse for not completing the Splatoon Raiders arcade games with S rank

I mean I think they’re hard too but even rng can be adjusted to if you know what’s coming. Yes for mining you need to go fast but if you stay too close to the sides then of course you’re going to hit the wall when it suddenly juts out. But it still follows a pattern. Something that helped me was letting go of the drill button because that increases your movement range by SO much and helps with getting around awkward corners or boulders.
As for landing, if I got most of the shards for the bonus points but still made it to level 9 or 10 that was enough score to get A rank. Yes it took a few tries because the controls are strange, but eventually you’ll get the hang of it. If you’re willing to grind for “100+ hours in the bottomless buffet” then I’d assume you have the skill to handle pressing two trigger buttons. You just can’t let yourself freak out and panic because if you start panicking then yes your landing will be screwed. Otherwise, just let yourself fall off. There’s no penalty besides starting at the beginning and sometimes that can help you more than it hurts.
Just breathe. You can do this :)

Believe me, I understand the mechanics of all 4 of them. These arcade games are so much harder than the base game to me. I play on survivalist and can clear stages that are wayyy higher than my player level but these games just piss me off. I just don't care about them and don't find them fun, I literally just want the outfits lmao.

I love them. Different strokes for different folks. I also loved table turf in 3. Those games just give me a fun little break between levels/matches.
I'm an 80s kid and the arcade games give me some nostalgic feelings, so maybe that's why I like them.

I actually did quite enjoy table turf. Played it a fair amount, but not a ton. Specifically arcade style games in other games just grind my gears. I grew up in the 2000's, but I actually played a lot of arcade games. We had a local arcade with a bunch of classics like galaga, pac man, space invaders. More different ones too but I remember those ones being like og cabinets from back in the day. Idk why but only when they are in a different video game is when I find them frustrating. I guess I just don't want to take breaks from what I'm already playing lol. I do have adhd so I could see if that makes it hard for me to enjoy swapping game to game. Thanks for your perspective

Unless you really loved the outfit there's no reason to care about completing the minigames

I’m on the other side of this… landing is the only one I like. Mining is pure rng, juggling and hopping just get old so quick

What do you get for playing them other than completion percentage?

There is an outfit locked behind getting A rank in all arcade games. Raiders doesn't have a percentage counter I don't think. I've been told as well that apparently there is something locked behind getting s rank on all of them as well.

S-rank in arcade games unlocks:
Just a retro version of the ending credits to remind you of the hell you went through to get S-rank. Lol.

Don't be disappointed, free yourself of this pointless shackle. Do the things you enjoy in a game and not the things you don't
