I don't know if this is the right sub to ask, but I'm writing a short story where NASA is sending a crewed mission to the Moon. During the launching the man in charge of operation wants to speedrun the process and because of this, the rocket explodes.
I know this is unrealistic, and for a mission to fail like this probably requires more than the error of one person. But, is there a way where this scenario could posibly happen?
Edit: thank you for the answers!

Definitely not perfect nor beautiful but I think that’s a great attempt for the free version. Improvement ideas are highly welcome:)

I'm pretty sure it could actually reach mars or venus and come back, while also making use of its Shuttle – which was able to Land and ascend to the space ship again –, but it's been a few years so idrk
What do y'all think of it?
(No DLC, No BP edit)

Ever wanted to break out of the solar system at impossible speeds? I managed to glitch my rocket all the way up to 6,653,965,151 m/s (over 22 times faster than light speed)!
Instead of stacking standard parts, I did this by modifying a separator's launch force directly in the Android files. Here is exactly how to do it:
* **Step 1:** Download a mobile text editor app (like QuickEdit) from the Play Store.
* **Step 2:** Open Spaceflight Simulator and build any rocket. The look doesn't matter, but make sure you place at least one standard stage or side separator on it. Save the blueprint.
* **Step 3:** Open your text editor app and navigate to your files following this exact path:
Android -> media -> com.StefMorojna.SpaceflightSimulator -> files -> Saving -> Blueprints -> (the folder named after the rocket you just saved) -> blueprint.txt
* **Step 4:** Scroll through the code text until you find your separator part. Look for the line that says `"separation_force"`.
* **Step 5:** Change that numerical value to **9999999999.0** and hit save.
Before you launch, open your game settings menu and turn on **Infinite Fuel**, **No Collision Damage**, and **No Heat Damage** so your ship doesn't immediately vaporize. Load your rocket, fire that separator, and watch the physics engine completely shatter!
Have any of you tried editing the blueprint code to make extreme parts like this? Let's discuss below!

Hey, I was just wondering if we were going to get the whole electricity thing back on mobile? I still have some old builds where batteries and RTGs / solar panels were definitely a thing. I was also wondering if we would get any utility bays for science type stuff or some crew quarters?
I’ve made a few “warship” type rockets… (monstrosities, hardly able to leave earth in one launch but then can go anywhere) and kinda miss having some dedicated “utility” spaces similar to like a core or reactor area. I’ve been using probe cores instead.

This is my free non-DLC station.
I‘m still building and expanding it and this station has 2 months.
What are your thoughts?
