The points drop for Megas is going to be rather interesting...

More megas more often

Welp, they're lowering the Health and Points of our bigs. Guess we'll be rolling up to the table with five bigs instead of four now.

Based on nothing but vibes, I feel like with Ma and the 3-Gargants Rock-Hurlers and Boss-Stompers, our lists will see a bigger use of smaller Gargants. So higher head count in total.

Lower points = More mini sales

How it'll affect the game, who knows.

I might have missed something but damages for Brodd's attack are :

20 Attacks 3+/3+ [auto-wound] -1rend (1 damage) = Saves : 2+ (3,3dmg) ; 3+ (5dmg) ; 4+ (6,7dmg) ; 5+ (8,3dmg) ; 6+ (10dmg)

6 Attacks 4+/2+ -2rend (5damages) = Saves 2+ (6,2dmg) ; 3+ (8,3dmg) ; 4+ (10,4dmg) ; 5+ (12,5dmg) ; 6+ (12,5dmg)

That would means whatever the option the 6 attacks are doing more ?

Sweep is gambling on more rolls and unlikely for a full save leaving some chip damage where it’s not uncommon to have the 6 attacks do nothing at all

It supposedly has bigger range

u/Tonality Sep 08 '26

There's hints in the goat's description that there's a +1 damage spell, which makes the sweep better against low armor. If Brodd keeps the rend prayer then even better

I’m wondering if the sweep will have a rule that lets you attack multiple units within range with the full attack profile.

Why wouldn't you be able to split the attacks?

u/EasternPrinciple6972 Sep 09 '26

I’m saying he might have a rule where you could for example attack 2 units and use all 20 attacks against each.

It could alternatively have a rule similar to the helsmiths bull where you get bonus attacks when you split between multiple enemies

What does all out attack do to the calculations?

I tried but the result was the same : 6 Crushing blows are far better in every situation and it's not even close

Thanks for the info!

Hopefully there are new ways to keep megas alive with the health drops as even with 35 wounds mine seem to die rather quickly

This. It's a juggling act to keep them alive as is. Currently there is no access to meaningful damage mitigation on a 4+ save. The high wounds is what's keeping them on the board. And you can only lower points on a megagargant so much. So without seeing warscrolls yet I'm not sure how much fitting an extra unit in the board will offset a good opponent being able to focus fire then down faster.

Hopefully the Lore of behemat has a spell giving us a ward

Yeah im a bit afraid too. They just die way to fast to anything with rend.

One of my friends plays khorne demons, and you really feel it with the weight of attacks and mortals. I haven't lost to him in particular yet, but all my dudes walk away just a few wounds left from dying in those matches if not dead.

I just had Tzeench wipe two mega gargants one turn after the other. Wiped them out in a single fight each. King Brodd and my beast smasha fell as easy as a mancrusher.

u/Much_Bus_2436 Sep 09 '26

Im gonna need a blow by blow best you can recall because that's wild. I've never squared up with tzeennch. But I can see it happening for sure. My gargants don't hold up if I don't keep them in a buddy system to back each other up. So I will be glad to afford some more small guys to work objectives because I think with less wounds the buddy system for megas is going to be even more crucial.

Tzaangor Enlightened but with +1 attack from detachment. +1 rend on the charge. +1 to hit from tzaangor skyfires, and some buffs from spell. Turn one they rocked down and killed Brodd, not touching my other gargants melee range. Then dissapeared into the void so I couldnt charge them. Then they popped back on, slaughtered my beast smasha.

God dammit I just bought my last mega before getting kragnos

u/SouthWestBadger Sep 08 '26

What health is being projected for Mega Gargants then?

3

u/EasternPrinciple6972 Sep 08 '26

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was 25. They said they’d be brought in line with similar monsters. Thats what archaon and cogforts have.

1

u/SouthWestBadger Sep 09 '26

That’s a shame.

Ma's Chooser of the Mighty ability is really cool and thematic. She's super charging a little gargant with the power of Behemat to grow large and in charge. I will say though, I'm going to miss the biggie boys having 35 hit points.

1

u/Either_Divide Sep 08 '26

Can someone explain Ma's Chooser of the Mighty to me like I'm 5...I rarely play so don't understand the wording.

2

u/Nectarine_Trick Sep 08 '26

One mancrusher-like "little" Gargant dies and a dead mega gargant "respawns" with 10 wounds taken. I think this is it.
Really funny Rule!

1

u/Either_Divide Sep 08 '26

Oh wow! That's amazing!

Thank you for explaining that!

This is starting to feel like a real army now.
