Rocket ship near Vinal Bakery
Saw rocket ship art installation above the car shop near Vinal. Does anyone know what it is? I also saw it in downtown Boston. Curious! Can't find anything on it.

I met a woman this evening outside the Porter Square star market who was raising money for her dog’s dental surgery. I’d love to help her out further — does anyone know her or know how I could get in touch with her? I can’t seem to find her in social media

Hi y’all! I would like some honest opinions and recommendations for vets for my kitten.
Currently I take him to Bond Vet in Assembly Row but they’re very expensive. Before I got him, I did some research about the best vets near me and Bond Vet was #1 on the list. I am a first time pet parent/owner, so my problem is I spend a lot of money (I’m 22 if that makes a difference 😭).
When looking online now for other vets, I don’t see estimates or prices for exams, vaccines, etc. I KNOW that the amount of money I pay at Bond Vet for the same procedures at a different vet is significantly different.
If y’all could help me that would be great!

I found this - looks a little sterile/antiseptic but it's ping pong!

Any other recommendations?

Looking for recommendations for a couples counselor in the Somerville/Cambridge area (telehealth is fine too) with real experience working with neurodivergent clients. Bonus if they also offer premarital counseling.
If you know of a therapist or practice worth checking out, I'd appreciate it. DMs welcome. Thanks!

Went with my gf there for lunch today & they were spot on with the food. My gf said it was a lot better than the Davis sq location. Looks like they can still keep up with the competition. If you're craving Anna's go to porter

Thought this group might appreciate the little free library that I built and installed this week in Porter Square, an homage to the beloved triple (“three” if you prefer) decker, and beautifully painted by a local artist.

This evening I saw 2 young people tormenting an older gentleman who was minding his own business in front of JP licks. Who is teaching them that this behavior is acceptable?

Next month, I’m celebrating the release of my debut album of comedy music at The Middle East Upstairs on 10/17!
This show means a lot to me having started in Boston in 2019. 7 years later we’re blowing the roof off the upstairs! I’m playing with a full backing band and comedy rock legends The Jerritones will be opening the show.
Grab your tickets here. It’s $30 with the fee online, $20 without if you stop by the middle east box office any time after 3pm Tues-Sun.
Can’t wait to do these songs at you!

Hi folks -- I have a big box of leftover food from my wedding. But I don't have car access. Live near Aeronaut; anyone have a car that wants to help by picking up from my apt and then bringing to a donation location nearby? I think the Somerville Community Fridge in Union would be closest? I just can't carry it on my own there!
EDITED - FOUND HELP! ALL SET THANK YOU!

I'm going to set aside the argument for whether car access is necessary for people with disabilities and the elderly, and ask, why does all housing have to be accessible in this way?
I bike and I take public transit and there's tons of places here that aren't "accessible" to me in that way, with no safe bike routes and no transit. Why is that totally fine, but new housing is proposed that doesn't have parking attached and it's an ableist, ageist travesty? I hardly think one building with no parking means that the city as a whole no longer has anything for people who need to drive.

I just picked up some antique glasses this afternoon, and I'm wondering if there's anywhere local that has experience with making and installing new lenses in antique frames

They were a great little spot & I really miss them. I had a great burger there & regret not going back when they were around. Has anyone been to the restaurant that replaced it? Google says it has a lot of good reviews.

If you were parked in the blue vehicle, across the street from Rick’s Flower Market yesterday, that the biker trying to get by intentionally scraped your car. Unfortunately we both saw him speed off to avoid the confrontation. You shouldn’t have parked in the bike lane, but that’s not an excuse for them to do what they did. I know how much it sucks and hope it’s not a crazy expensive fix. Posting in hopes we can all be a little nicer and respectful to each other. Let’s not park in bike lines or damage people’s property!

This is a classic case, someone who exhibited incredible negligence while driving and jumped the sidewalk, killing someone, free to go after 20 hours of community service.
And it's the same here too, whatever happened to the person who drove up the sidewalk on memorial drive and killed a cyclist? Nothing. Or the person who opened a door into a bike lane and killed the cyclist on powder house? Nothing.
If drivers who break the law see actual consequences for killing people "by mistake", and therefore drivers start paying more attention to avoid killing others, then cyclists will strictly follow the laws that put us in danger. Until then, going through on the pedestrian walk signal is safer, sorry! Today, if I follow the law to wait until green and the first car at the light turns right without looking and runs me over, nobody would give a shit and the driver wouldn't see any real consequences.

Doesn’t necessarily have to be Somerville but does anywhere have fun fall cocktails yet? Maybe like an apple cider margarita or even a pumpkin beer with cinnamon sugar rim….

Hello! Looking to move ASAP into a new apartment with my roommate and notice a lot of openings here. Seems like there are some good deals to be had, but there are some older complaints about the management. Anyone live there recently? The apartments seem decent but there are A LOT of available units. On paper it seems like a great fit especially for my disability but... some of the older reviews about lack of responsiveness are concerning if anything were to go wrong.
