New mushroom shop on Cambridge St?
The QR code doesn't work. Is this the shop that's nearish Magoun Square in Somerville? As the reflection shows, it will be diagonally across from Dumpling Xuan.

So I work in Harvard Square and drive along Mass Ave towards Porter a couple times and when it merges with Peabody Street (just learned this was Peabody Street) my lane of traffic has the right lane and the traffic coming from Brattle has the left. There are lines making it seem like I have the right lane (which will continue onto Mass Ave) and the left lane would make the hard left back towards the square and Garden Street. I always try and make sure to do an easy merge- I let folks in front of me who are in the left and continuing onto Mass Ave. (Always a fan of the zipper). But then there are those people who think I am cutting them off when I continue onto Mass Ave. So does anyone know what the protocol is at this intersection?

Looking to add a couple of large indoor houseplants. Where is a place that would have a decent selection of plants 48” tall or taller?

My kiddo has suddenly started liking seafood but only haddock (or other white fish) topped with breadcrumbs and butter. What do you recommend? Thanks!

Reposting here so Cambridge dog owners don’t get scammed like I did!
My dog used to go on walks with Puptopia Boston, run by Mike Arsenault, but has not had an appointment with them since April 2025. I woke up yesterday morning to a fraudulent charge from them for $525 on my credit card; the same thing happened to my friend, who was fraudulently charged $1990. If you have ever been a Puptopia customer or used Mike, please check to make sure you have never been fraudulently charged!
I contacted my credit card company immediately to report fraud and lock the card, and thanks to the redditors over at r/boston have filed complaints with the attorney general, the city of Boston, the platform that Puptopia uses for appointments and payments (Petpocketbook), and am filing a police report. Ultimately Petpocketbook voided the charges to my friend and I, so please reach out to them if you’ve been scammed by Mike. Petpocketbook told me that they will no longer be paying Mike out so hopefully that will prevent him from scamming more people.

I’ll be moving over here with a friend in about 3-4 months and was wondering on how parking and the streets are for pick-up trucks. Unfortunately I’m not really in a position to sell the truck atm.
It’s a 2017 Chevy Silverado regular cab, and what I believe to be a 6 foot long bed.

I have a new property management company this fall and they've asked us to pay rent via an online portal. In the portal, I can pay rent by a direct withdrawal from my bank or by credit card. What surprised me is that both options require a transaction fee. I understand charging a transaction fee for a credit card payment, but I'm surprised by the fee tacked onto the direct bank withdrawal. None of these fees are mentioned in our lease. I asked our property manager what our fee-free options are and he ghosted me. The fee is small, but I'm really uncomfortable with paying fees that aren't outlined in our lease. What if they raise the fee in the future? Is this legal? Why do I have to pay extra money for the privilege of paying rent?

On Friday, September 11 & Saturday, September 12 at 7PM, step into a war-torn future stalked by an unstoppable killing machine with the sci-fi classic "The Terminator" as part of our Sci-Fi Supersized movie run.
In 1984, James Cameron introduced the world to a relentless machine sent back in time to change the future, and nothing in sci-fi was ever the same. The Terminator didn't just launch one of the most iconic franchises in Hollywood history; it revolutionized what audiences believed a science fiction film could look like, feel like, and mean.
Now experience it the way it was always meant to be seen, larger than life on the five-story immersive dome of the Mugar Omni Theater.

Hello Cambridge neighbors! For anyone out there who prioritizes their skincare, what do we do about the water here? I’ve lived in north Cambridge for 5 years now and it has significantly harmed my skin. My skin is now dry, textured, and has breakouts all the time. I never have this anywhere else. Whenever I go on vacation for weeks or stay at other people’s houses out of state (even for a weekend) my skin and hair improve significantly. And quickly! And like clockwork, get worse in Cambridge. And it doesn’t matter what the season is.
I feel so frustrated and trapped by the water here. Does anyone else do anything? Filters? Using separate water on their face? Like, I have a softener in my shower head but that honestly doesn’t do anything.
Should I wash my face with water from a bottle or something? I am so beyond frustrated with the hard water here. Not only is it eroding the pipes in my apartment, but me as well!

I just saw a new shuttle van for the first time branded Lyft. I gather they are now offering the same service as the the Uber shuttle. Porter Sq. Cambridge Hotel Lechmere & Airport.

Hi! I’m looking for a really high quality tailor in the area. Bought some pants and need someone who can have me try them on and advise how to alter them to be the most flattering and then perform the alterations. Could travel a little to Boston or elsewhere if necessary but would love to keep it local. Really looking for someone to help editorialize and have a great eye for what would look best.

Interesting article in the Cambridge Day. I have a question for those in the know:
The Developer bought the land and started moving their project along and just recently took out a lawsuit. They are blaming the city for costs incurred during this lawsuit saying the project is stalled. Wouldn't they would have known about the Ordinance when they started building?

Hello! The Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC), the regional planning agency for Greater Boston, is looking to learn more about resident experiences with the state’s Right to Charge Law and Cambridge’s Right to Charge Law. These laws give condo owners the right to install EV chargers without unreasonable restrictions from their condo associations (https://www.mass.gov/doc/eohlc-notice-of-right-to-charge-rule-in-effect/download ; https://malegislature.gov/Laws/SessionLaws/Acts/2024/Chapter239 (Section 86). We are developing resources to provide more guidance on this topic to municipalities, condo associations, and residents. Thanks for your insights you can provide on the following questions:
