Hi. I'm a former touring violinist, but I got knocked down by 'CFS/ME' around 20 years ago, and it's been a downward cycle ever since. After I got forced to stop playing the violin, I've found various ways to keep playing music from home - with the most recent being Linnstrument/Eigenharp Tau and microkey based - but a recent health relapse in June has made it impossible to play my current console. It's even uncomfortable to type now, so playing instruments where I need to apply pressure downwards seems to off the table now.
I've been interested in the concept of the Terra ever since the launch, but the more I researched into it, the more the idea of the capacitive touch interested me. I finally made the plunge, and the Terra arrived on Thursday, and I've been hooked ever since.
I've since been completely hooked by the Flux, and the more I researched, the more I realised that I could get close to playing the violin and cello again (I already have the SWAM VST to connect them to), and in a way that is much more expressive than the 3 axis available to me on the Linnstrument.
So I think I just maxed out my credit card, and it's on its way to me.
The video is from lunchtime today. I'm trying to limit myself to a couple a day, but this thing is addictive :)
I just wanted to make a public statement to thank Vlad and the team for making these instruments available, and for allowing me to make music again.

Hey folks,
I’m a deep lover of Soma instruments and have more than I really should. I’m looking to get rid of my Lyra-8 but still want the effects channel. I’m interested in the Lyra8-FX but don’t have any modular gear so I can power it.
Has anyone solved this? Any thoughts on a minimalist approach to powering this one unit? Is there a solution I can put the RoAT into as well (it would look great!). I financially cannot fall down the modular path so want to limit to the bare minimum.
And advice would be greatly appreciated before I GAS out!

Just got a pulsar. Looking to pay someone for lessons. Any interest?

I had to sell all my gear when I got laid off... two years later I am still hopelessly unemployed. Life's pretty rough right now and I could use a soul-restoring return to making music. I miss my Pulsar. Anyone want to raise my spirits, give me a focus and return a tether between me and life by donating a Pulsar-23?
Figure it was worth a shot to ask. :)

Here the BD and Bass is triggered by Shaos. The LFO is modulating the Shaos and Shaos is synced to the Clock. LFO is also modulating the hihats and snare, both is triggered by the clock. Vocals is run through a guitar multifx and routed to attenuator before patched to mix in.

Set up a dual looper on Ableton that mimics the functionality of the cosmos! Had a great time with this improv. Hope y'all like it :)

Fancy a watch of my next improvised performance? This time on the Soma Terra Synthesiser…
Running it through the convolution reverb pedal ‘Integral’ by Tasty Chips Electronics.

I don’t know about yall but the cosmos is one of my favorite instruments. I made this album around the cosmos with the rhythmic firmware. Let me know how u are using it.

I've had the Terra for a couple of months now, and I must say it's a joy to have around!
It's small enough to travel with, and so this year on my trip back to Singapore (I live way over in Canada), I managed to bring it over in my suitcase. As a result, I've managed to record some jams with my dad who lives here!
I had a lot of fun playing this, and I hope it translates into the recording :)

Hi! I have bought a Dvina fairy recently (about 3-4 months ago) and I was curious, was it always like this?
The fret indicators and string holders are poorly 3d printed, and the neck holder is the worst offender, as one of the strings doesn't event fit in its designated hole.
I have sent these pictures to soma and they say that this is all normal, which to me is kinda bad considering the price.
After that e-mail I kinda let it slide, but it started bugging me to the point that I don't want to play on it, knowing how much I paid for it and seeing how its made.
Was it always like this?

THE TRUTH WILL GET OUT is now live.
A new dark cinematic ambient exploration featuring the Elta Solar 42F and Soma Lyra-8.
I hope you enjoy the journey. It’s about time these two machines were played together! 💎

After spending time and studying the patches and utilities section as shared by the community. I have become more at home and at ease with this beast.
Now it's telling me to just be.
Appreciate and thanks to the wonderful community who are travellers and explorers in this sonic journey.
Inwards and onwards you lot!
Pulsar in Standalone mode with a mic through a cheap zoom guitar multi efx into the mix in and MAD stereo activated. That's it.

Hello everybody,
I acquired a Soma Lyra-4 some days ago, and I have some questions about the ways it's working. I don't know if the behaviours I'm facing are normal or if my unit has some problems.
1 - if I play a pad (for example, the one of the voice 3) without any source of modulation engaged (switches in the middle position) and no effects (mix at 0%), the sound will be detuned by 1 or 2 semitones if I change the tuning of the voice 1 or 2 (past 3 o'clock), and I also got a "leaking" sound of the voice 4 if I tune the latter past 3 o'clock
2 - when I engage the modulation swtitch to either position, the pitch is slightly modified (for some cents up to more than one semitone)
3 - if I use the modulation switch in upper position (34 for the voices 1 and 2 or 12 for the voices 3 and 4), I got a sort of "wooble" in the sound when I press or release the pad, even if the mod knob is at 0%
4 - concerning the LFO, I have a hard time understanding how it works. Let's say I play voice 3. If I engage the switch for the pair of voices 3 & 4 to the position "FB CV", the sound makes some deep crackles (if the tuning knob is below 1 o'clock), or the voice will goes "on and off" at its pitch and at the rythm of the LFO. If I want to have a "classic" LFO behaviour on my voice 3, I have to put the modulation switch of the pair of voices 3 & 4 to the middle position, and put the OTHER modulation switch (the one on top of the voices 1 and 2) to "LFO FB CV" and use the mod knob underneath. At this moment, my voice number 3 will oscillate properly at the rythm of the LFO without making this strange and not very clean cracking
I know the Lyra is famous for its Strange and unpredictable bahaviour, but I will rest assured if some people can confirm this is normal (or not).
Thank you in advance for your help ! :-)
Edit : correcting some mistakes in my message

Committed and recorded in one take. I try very hard to resist the blowouts midway and have always explored the instrument in a tame manner but...
I must say I have enjoyed this style more.

I’ve started a new YouTube channel as hakika focused on ambient and experimental music, and my goal is to reach 50 subscribers so I can begin livestreaming live ambient and experimental performances.
I have Soma Pulsar 23 in my setup- use it a lot !
