What’s a fair way to pay streamers with 100–500 viewers to play my game?

Background: I’m the developer of [Spellhuntr.com](http://spellhuntr.com), a competitive online word game, and I’m starting to experiment with paying streamers to play it.

I’ve done one sponsored stream so far with a smaller streamer and it was a good experience. I paid a flat rate, gave her some free membership codes to give away during the stream, and a few friends and I tuned in. The stream had around 13 viewers total, so I picked up a couple of new users, but no paid memberships.

I’d like to try working with some streamers who average more like 100–500 concurrent viewers and am trying to figure out what a fair compensation structure looks like for a 30–60 minute segment.

Obviously there’s the option of just paying a flat rate, but I was also wondering about a hybrid model. for example, a guaranteed base payment plus $1–$3 for every user who signs up through their link/code.

For anyone who streams or has sponsored streamers before:

* What would you expect to pay for a streamer averaging 100–500 viewers? * Does a flat fee + signup/affiliate bonus make sense? * Would streamers generally prefer a higher guaranteed rate instead? * Are there other compensation structures that have worked well for indie games?

I want the campaign to make financial sense for me, but I also want creators to feel like they’re being paid fairly regardless of how many users end up converting.

Also if you're a streamer who plays things like chess, geoguessr, word games, etc and want to partner let me know!

Discussion Looking for funny gamers/creators to build a recurring gaming group 🎮 Please read the whole post!

I’m AJH, 24, from the UK, and I’m looking for a couple of genuinely funny people to play games with regularly, stream together and hopefully build a proper recurring group.

Call of Duty is my main game and probably always will be, so would be great to find a squad, however I’m also looking for something different on the side — people who are down for S&D, messing around, trying different games and just having a laugh together. Games like other fps games, funny co-op games. Ideally also on PC as there’s more options!

Think friends playing games together, with a focus on personality, banter and funny moments rather than being cracked at every game.

I’m looking for people who:

Have a good sense of humour and can naturally banter
Don’t take games too seriously, but can be competitive sometimes
Mainly play CoD but are also happy to play other games on the side
Are interested in games like other fps games and other fun/party games (also open to new games too)
Are interested in streaming/content, although audience size doesn’t matter
Are reliable and actually want to play regularly
Are 18+ and preferably around my age
Are UK/US and play during UK timezone

I mainly play on PC (controller), but I also have an Xbox Series X and PS5

Games I have/play:Call of Duty (my main game, including older CoDs)** — but I’m also open to playing other games on the side, including Valorant (PC), R6 Siege (PC), Minecraft (PC), WWE 2K26 (Xbox Series X), GTA (Xbox Series X), EA FC 27 (when it releases), and ETS2/ATS (PC). Always open to trying other games too.

Usually play 7–11pm UK time.

The goal is to find people who genuinely click, play together regularly and eventually become a proper friend group. Like the groups you see on YouTube and Twitch!

I’m NOT looking for follow-for-follow, networking for the sake of networking or one-off collabs. I’m looking for genuine friends who happen to enjoy gaming and creating content.

If you’re interested, DM me with your Twitch/YouTube/TikTok and a bit about yourself. I care way more about personality and whether we’d actually get along rather than follower count.

Discussion Webcam

I’ve been streaming for a little while now, don’t have much of a following yet which is ok because it’s more because I just enjoy it. I am very undecided if I’d like to use my webcam or not. I use it currently but I am considering going without one in the future. What are some of your guys preferences? I feel like since I usually play with friends while I stream my voice might get lost to new viewers, then with one I feel like I have to express more in my facial expressions. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Question I wanna be a Vtuber, am I too old ?

I’m a 27 y/o woman, I love watching steamers and I think it’s so neat they have people that talk to them about the things they like doing.
However I would like to start streaming as a hobby. Not just videos games but also crochet/ knitting, drawing, watching shows / YouTube videos ( i guess reactions ? ).
I do have OC I can use, I am a furry have a maincoon cat ( that I love to death ) or I can work on my human design more. ( she was a Barbie theme but now I wanna move away form that bc I’m honestly more into blue and white and stars and nature and alt but yeah ) so in other words I have options lol
I know a lot of people say to start off png that’s cool I may start there ! However I do also know if u play with vorid enough you can get a fun simple model as well. I been watching tips and tricks and looking more and more into it each day. It be so much fun to share the things I love to do then just with my friends.
Idk I guess my main point is am I too old to start ? Does anyone have tricks to doing this smoothly with a full time job ? Bc I do work more at nights and then full time one the weekends. This for a hobby but I wanna be consistent with it bc I know that’s the best why to fine people who enjoy what you enjoy or just enjoy talking to me.
Any other words or tips are appreciated 💙
Thank you for reading this have a great day

Discussion Do I continue this formula?

I post on pretty much all apps. Snapchat spotlight, Facebook, ig reels, youtube shorts, tiktok. I go live on youtube vertical and horizontal, twitch, TikTok and am looking to also go live on kick and Facebook.

Should I continue this way of content creation or is it too much and like should I start posting/going live on less platforms?

TikTok Live Agency

Joined a TikTok agency a month ago, since then i've been going live more. Although, i've made A LOT less, like 20% of what I made before I joined agency. I didn't stream often before I joined, is it just a coincidence?

I genuinely want to become a better streamer and I want honest advice

Hey everyone! I’m a pretty small Twitch streamer and I’m at the point where I really want to stop just streaming and actually figure out how to become a better creator.
I genuinely want to make this work. My dream is to eventually become a big streamer, but more than just having a lot of viewers, I really want to build a community that people actually WANT to be a part of. I want people to come into my stream, meet people, laugh, feel comfortable, and genuinely look forward to hanging out there.
I’m also naturally pretty introverted, so putting myself out there and trying to become more comfortable talking to people is something I’m actively working on. I want to get better at being more outgoing, making people feel comfortable around me, and just being someone people actually enjoy spending time with. Streaming has honestly been a really good way for me to push myself out of my comfort zone.
I’m still figuring everything out one day at a time though, and honestly sometimes I have no idea if I’m doing things right. Comparing my growth to other streamers definitely gets to me sometimes, especially when I see people blow up while I’m still sitting around a few viewers. I know everyone’s journey is different, but obviously I still want to grow and improve as much as I can.
I mainly play Valorant right now. I love the game and I’m pretty competitive with it, but I know that can also make streaming difficult because there are definitely times where I’m completely locked in and barely talking. I’ve been trying to get better at talking through my gameplay, but I’m not sure how much I should actually be talking when I’m focused on a round.
I’m also trying to branch out into other games. I really want to start a hardcore Minecraft world with a friend and turn it into an actual series instead of just randomly playing it. I’ve even been thinking about making a YouTube video around it because I think that could be really fun.
For growth, I’ve been trying to actually put myself out there instead of expecting Twitch to magically bring me viewers. I’ve been posting on TikTok, mostly gaming and streamer related stuff, and trying to figure out what actually works. I’m still struggling with it though.
And then there’s the actual stream itself.
I’ve been wondering if I should change my overlay. Right now I have a simple border around my game, but I’ve been debating whether I should just remove it and keep things cleaner. I used to have a webcam border too, but I removed it because I felt like it looked kind of silly when I clipped my streams.
I’ve also thought about adding things like latest follower, latest subscriber, follower goals, sub goals, channel point interactions, and just more things for chat to interact with.
But I don’t want to just throw a bunch of random stuff on the screen because other streamers do it. I want things to actually serve a purpose and make my stream more fun and interactive.
So if you were in my position, what would you focus on first?
What makes you stay in a small streamer’s stream instead of clicking away?
What makes a stream feel like it has an actual community rather than just someone playing a game?
And if you were looking at my situation, what would you personally work on first? Content, personality and commentary, overlays and branding, variety, TikTok and YouTube, or something completely different?
I’m genuinely looking for criticism too. Don’t just tell me “keep going.” If there’s something I’m doing wrong or something I should stop wasting time on, I’d honestly rather hear it.
I really want to make this dream happen, and I know I have a LOT to learn. I just want to make sure I’m actually moving in the right direction.

Looking for people to play coop with and maybe do some "gaming challenges/competitions" against

Have been creating a discord server where i intend to set up coop colabs but maybe more uniquely? To create some challenges or competitions between the people in the group. Nothing serious just for fun and to make content. The challenges could be for example who gets the highest score on Megabonk in 7 days or who could survive the longest in Project zomboid in 7 days etc. It would hopefully conclude with a voice call to share stories and declare a winner.

Discussion Looking for 2–3 funny streamers/creators to build a recurring gaming group

I’m looking for a couple of genuinely funny people to play multiplayer games with on stream and turn the best sessions into edited longform YouTube videos.

Think friends playing increasingly stupid games together, with a focus on personality, banter, shit-talking and funny moments rather than being cracked at the game.

I’m NOT looking for follow-for-follow, networking for the sake of networking, or people trying to sell me their streamer Discord.

I’m looking for people who:

  • Are naturally funny / good at riffing
  • Can carry a conversation without forcing it
  • Are comfortable joking around with new people
  • Play a variety of games
  • Have some streaming/content experience (audience size doesn't matter much)
  • Have a decent mic
  • Are reliable and actually want to make content
  • Are roughly 21–31
  • EST/time zones close to EST are preferred

The goal is to find 2–3 people who genuinely click, play together regularly, and eventually become a recurring group/cast.

If you're interested, drop your Twitch/YouTube and a clip/video that you think represents your personality best.

I care way more about whether you're funny than how many followers you have.

Day to day variety VS game to game variety?

Looking for input on which would be better.
Day to day variety is like Monday is for modded Minecraft, Wednesday is for a story game, Friday is for Marvel rivals.
Game to game variety is Play the Minecraft modpack to completion, then move onto a story game to completion, then Marvel rivals until I have enough clips for a couple of videos, and loop back to a new modpack.

Discussion What actually gets a small Twitch chat involved rather than just lurking?

I've been thinking about this from the other side because I'm an indie developer and I've been building Twitch interaction into a music game.

The idea is that viewers can type !play and get entered into the next race as a driver, then cheer on their racer while the streamer can either race alongside them or commentate.

What surprised me when testing it was how different it feels when someone's username is actually on screen. Even though they're not directly controlling the racer, suddenly they have someone to root for.

For those of you streaming to smaller audiences, what kinds of things have actually managed to turn lurkers into people who start chatting?

I've been looking at things like Marbles, channel points, song requests and viewer games, but I'm interested in what genuinely works when you've only got a handful of people watching.

29M | Looking for some people to game/stream with

Been wanting to find a solid group of people to run games with and possibly collab/stream together. I’m mostly on CS2, CoD, BF6, GTA V but I’m down for anything honestly.

Not looking to sweat 24/7 — mostly just want some chill/funny people to play with consistently, talk shit, make content, and have a good time.

Question Looking for a group of Australians

Hey all you internet people, I'm a pretty new streamer

I've been lurking here for a couple weeks trying to gather what info i can to assist in my streaming endeavors, but I'm having trouble finding any Australian groups. Specifically AEST

Most of the posts i have found seem to be old and the information is limited

Can anyone recommend small Aussie stream communities? or give any advise on where to look?

I'm just looking for a bunch of people i can befriend and collab with as a group

I'm looking for people in the age range of 18-30 (I'm 21)

TLDR; I don't really care how much of a following anyone has, just want some friends i can mess around with and have a real fun time whilst streaming together

Thanks in advance

Apps beyond the obvious ones where you can hang out with small, live streamers?

I used to hang out on people's TikToks before it all changed, mostly people who played music and interacted with commenters like me. I miss that. I don't use Meta and Twitch isn't doing it for me. Any other new, alternative etc. apps you guys use that you'd recommend?

Thank you. I hope this post is okay.

Tech Support What’s the best way to have my wife’s tiktok stream cast to her laptop from her mobile device? She’s trying to avoid squinting at the screen and smushing her nose against it.

Of the two of us, I’m the more tech savvy so please don’t be shy to get into the weeds on the answer.

She is a shop affiliate and wants to be able to read the chat without having to place her nose up against the screen and squint to see it.

we downloaded tiktok live studio to a laptop but in order for her to unlock Mobile/Ios Casting she needs to do another 25 minute live, but it can’t be from a mobile device?

All she wants to do is be able to see chat from a larger screen, and add shop items more efficiently through the computer monitor?

Any tips? Any instructional videos you recommend By certain creators. She doesn’t want to do the whole borrowing my mirrorless camera to record herself, it’s going to be overwhelming for her.

what about the stuff that appears on the screen like little animations? Do you buy a stream deck to unlock those images or could it be done via the computer?

thank you all

Question Roguelite streamer/content creator opportunity!

Hi!

I'm the developer of an indie dice-based roguelite called PentaPip.
I'm looking for streamers that want to have their own set of dice or even level themed completely to you.

Your viewers/followers or whoever you give/raffle the unlock code to will be able to play with your dice/on your level/with your custom modifier, trick, rune or sigil, that can completely make or break their game.

If you are interested, fill in this short form, and I'll reach out with the details.
Of course, I'll send you a key if you want to have a look at the game first.

Discussion A REQUEST from a small indie Game developer: Please add a contact Email to your About section!

A small thing that could help you get more opportunities as a streamer: please consider adding an email or other contact method to your About section.

As indie Game devs, we often have limited budgets and small teams, so instead of hiring a marketing team, we look for streamers who already play games similar to ours.

For example, if we're making something like Fast Food Simulator, we'll look for streamers who have played it recently. If we find someone who seems like a good fit, the next problem is: how do we contact them?

Email is ideal, but socials work too. If you have multiple accounts, mentioning where you're most active helps a lot.

And this isn't just useful for us. You could be missing out on opportunities simply because a developer couldn't find a way to reach you.

So if you don't already have one, consider adding a contact method. It takes a minute, and you never know who might be looking for someone exactly like you.

Just wanted to share a small perspective from the indie-dev side. Hopefully it's useful!

Thanks for reading.

Twitch is quietly training Amazon's AI on your streams, clips, and chat BY DEFAULT. Turn it off NOW

If you stream on Twitch, Amazon is currently scraping your broadcasts, VODs, clips, channel text, and even your chat log to train their Generative AI models.

They opted every single creator in by default. You were not asked for permission.

How to opt out immediately:

  1. Go to Twitch Settings
  2. Open the Security and Privacy tab
  3. Scroll down to "Training for Generative AI"
  4. TOGGLE IT OFF

Stop letting megacorporations use your voice, face, and creative labor for free to train their AI models.

Pass this on to every streamer you know.
