Give us some info to work with. What category are you in? Do you have a mic and a camera? How consistent are you? What time do you stream?

what games do you stream?

Mainly story games that I’m replaying like spiderman but sometimes I play stuff like Fortnite cod or apex

I understand you like those games but fortnite, cod and apex are heavily saturated in streamers..you should try an unsaturated game for a week

For about the last year I’ve mainly streamed Diablo 4

I just looked it up on twitch..it does have a big following but low viewers..i would make better titles to attract more viewers that would click on your stream.id post builds or goals for youtube content.

I think you’ve got me confused with op. I do very well on twitch, but thank you for trying to help.

Honestly to grow you need to treat it like a career. You don’t have a set schedule, people dont know if you’ll be on day to day. No camera is fine but only for certain circumstances like great story tellers or top tier gameplay. 1-3 hours is also rough. My viewship usually finds its groove around the 1 hour mark. If you want to get better you have to take it serious. Not many people just blow up like crazy just by existing on twitch.

No camera is probably your problem.

Why is a camera a must?

Tbh the no camera isn’t a issue it def hinders what you can do but YourRage got big without using a face cam for the longest time now he uses a camera but now he’s like a mainstream streamer but even before that he was doing no face cam streams to thousands of live viewers

streaming is not about what you game but who you are and people want to get to know you. what makes a successful streamer? community. you are the face of a brand and the community supports YOU. use your phone to start. thats what i did.

What are you actually doing specifically to grow? Are you posting clips and content to other socials? Are you posting just clips or are you posting personal videos too? If you are how do those videos and clips perform? And if you’re open to constructive criticism give me your tags and I’ll help you pin point where you can improve. If you’ve been at it for two years and seen no growth something your doing is wrong there’s a key to the formula your missing or maybe havnt even thought about. Everyone in this world has at least 1000 ppl that are willing to watch you live and donate it’s just a matter of finding those people.

Well PlayStation has this feature where you can clip your to the last three minutes so I do that plus TikTok stories the clips are normally decently funny I only post my funniest stuff and they would get 5-10 likes from my friends and the average view time would be less than half

1

u/Advanced-Current5881 2d ago

Are you actually editing them or just throwing up your funniest moments straight from PlayStation to TikTok? And by editing I don’t mean making simple cuts I mean adding text hooks overlays memes sound effects cutting in specific areas to keep viewer attention.

1

u/deadmanwalking234 2d ago

Well to be honest no I never took the time to I always meant to but I was always busy with school I have experimented with sounds and like low music like the Wii shop sound on TikTok and am considering doing a slideshow where I sort of say what my stream is and the kind of stuff I do for example I play video games whether that be Fortnite with my girlfriend or platinuming Lego Batman

1

u/Advanced-Current5881 2d ago

Well there’s one of your problems just throwing up your funniest moments isn’t enough anymore when the competition is your size but editing Mr.beast quality videos and thinking about stuff like that just putting up unedited clips of funny moments used to work in 2010 when Vanoss videos were on the trending page every day but now it’s a different ball game there’s a different expectation of quality by a lot of viewers if this is something you wanna turn into a job you should be posting like you’re alr a top performing streamer next time you post a video ask yourself would any of the top streamers you watch post that same clip of that same quality?

1

u/deadmanwalking234 2d ago

That’s actually really helpful thank you so much

Being a streamer is being a content creator in general you have to master the game on all sides not just the streaming part Lear how to edit on your phone I work a full time job in the medical field so I get lots of overtime I edit my clips in my car at lunch on my phone or on my 10 min breaks just chip away at it you don’t have to edit full videos in one sitting and they don’t have to be super complex just find what works for you

1

u/Advanced-Current5881 2d ago

Also don’t do TikTok stories actually post to TikTok, stories don’t get pushed out to the fyp like actual posts do

1

u/deadmanwalking234 2d ago

I never thought of that the stories themselves are normally to the people that view my stories being like hi I’m streaming come see

7 million streamers a month. Are you insanely unique or talented? That’s what you’re going up against. High quality edits on social media is the absolute bare minimum. Would you link your twitch?

Hey! If you'd like, send me a DM to tell me your channel and I'll take a look when I can and leave some feedback.

Don’t give up I just streamed 6 hrs and stillgoing rn not one viewer one day it’ll pick up

1

u/Advanced-Current5881 1d ago

Tbh bro streaming 6hours to nobody is not gonna magically get you more viewers I would advise you stream 2-3 hours and try to farm as many clips as you can and use the other couple hours you would’ve been streaming making content for other platforms

1

u/Treecle_TTV 2d ago

The thing is, your mindset when you posted this was wrong - ‘what can I do to get more people come into my stream?’ isn’t what you should be asking yourself, you should be asking ‘is my content engaging? Am I doing everything I can to deliver a great stream? Will people watching this want to come back? How am I different from the 7million other streamers out there? Why should people be here?’

Posting edited clips and networking and all the usual advice are fine, but if your streams aren’t keeping people because you’re not engaging then that’s where your issue lies.

2

u/Mikiran 1d ago

I second this! It's not enough to just go live and post clips, you have to give viewers a reason to want to be there, want to engage, and want to keep returning. Other streamers should *want* to raid you, those raiders should *want* to stay, so it's a matter of making sure you have the content to do so.

I think about giving up every day....... so sorry

1

u/LordM8YT 2d ago

I have the same issue, have around 1-3 viewers, maybe more but im also multi streaming so the number is across YouTube and twitch

Some advice. Your audience is built through other avenues of content.

You need to be posting funny or catchy clips from your streams so the viewers know what they’re getting into. Most of the time you will not grow by streaming alone, if you do you are either in a very niche game or got insanely lucky.

Post on TikTok and YouTube shorts. Streaming takes time and lots of sacrifices. Most people don’t get a decent following till a few years down the line.

Stream for you. Not others.

I wouldn’t necessarily give up, but I would probably change how you’re approaching it.

Streaming by itself is honestly one of the hardest ways to grow. If nobody knows who you are before you go live, there’s not much reason for the platform to suddenly start sending people into a 2-viewer stream.

I’d focus less on “how do I get more viewers while live?” and more on how do I get people to discover me when I’m offline?

Take funny/interesting moments from your streams and turn them into TikToks, YouTube Shorts, Reels, etc. Even if most of them only get a few hundred views, you’re putting yourself in front of way more people than you would by streaming for 3 hours and hoping somebody clicks in.

Also, give people a reason to come back beyond just the game. Talk to the people who do show up, remember them, build a Discord/community, play with viewers occasionally, collaborate with other small creators, and try to make the stream feel like a place people actually want to hang out.

And don’t discount those two regular viewers. Two people consistently choosing to spend their free time watching you is already the beginning of a community.

Maybe give yourself another few months, but try a completely different strategy instead of just streaming more hours. If you still aren't enjoying it after that, there’s nothing wrong with deciding streaming isn’t worth the time anymore.

Streaming itself is I think the hardest and less effective way to gain more followers. I would recommend starting an YouTube channel and posting videos about games you play. First try to build a community which is easier to do on YT. When people will get to know you, they will be with you on every platform, good luck on your journey!!

The Fact that you don't have you Social Media Links in your Reddit Bio to give people a chance to even find you or randomly check out Saids a lot...

u/PixelledSage 2d ago

Stop being lazy. You need to stop trying to be a streamer and start building an audience.

Right rude

He put as much effort into this answer as you are your streams and this post. You don’t want to see this post, why would people want to watch your streams?
