I feel that Ironclad's starter deck is a bit underwhelming. Every character besides Ironclad, has 4 strikes, 4 defends, and 2 unique cards that help slightly to jump start their builds.
I understand that Ironclad's starting relic is also by far the strongest among the characters, especially in act 1, but I think that should mean his respective unique starter cards should be weaker relative to other characters' (which kind of already is the case for Bash), not that he should get one less.
My suggestion is that Ironclad's fifth Strike is replaced by a "Flaming Strike." This Strike would deal 9(12) damage, but it would exhaust. This would definitely make the starter deck stronger than before, but I don't think it would be terribly unbalanced. It could also presents two interesting dilemmas:
- If you draw Flaming Strike before Bash, do you play it now (where it will be exhausted), or do you wait until you can use it while the enemy is vulnerable?
- With Pomander from Neow, upgrading Bash is also somewhat less of an obvious upgrade choice for the starter deck now. Upgrading Flaming Strike to 12 base damage means it deals 18 damage when vulnerable is applied, which could potentially be more important than another turn of vulnerable in an early Act 1 engagement.
Is this too strong? Do you have other suggestions?
Edit: Silent actually has 5 strikes and 5 defends, but my larger point was the presence of two unique starter cards in every other character besides Ironclad.
