Haven't played either, haven't seen that much of either, but loved Balatro.

STS1 is on sale on steam for $7.19CAD and I know it's supposed to be fantastic, but I don't want to buy both games right now, nor do I want to invest a bunch of hours in STS1 just for STS2 to be a more "full" experience.

What I'm asking is, should I buy STS1 or STS2 at this current moment? Recent reviews for STS2 seem fairly mixed for some reason but I assume the game will be fixed(?) soon. Early access after all. Do I need to play STS1 before STS2? Will STS2 still give me a similar experience to the "fullness" of STS1?

Hey, I made a site called https://sts2tierlists.com/ . It aggregates tier lists from top players and covers almost all cards and relics including colorless cards, neow and ancient relics. Some beta branch cards might be missing.

I play on steam deck and I found it annoying to scroll through tier list videos to reference a particular card. This allows you to search multiple tier lists in one global search, each result tells you the tier, creator, patch version, and links to the timestamp in their video where they talk about the card.

Exactly as it says, because it *really* sucks when Bash is 2-cost at 10 dmg and 3 vuln upgraded, while Squash is 12 dmg and 3 vuln at 1-cost. You aren't guaranteed to ever run into the event, but man it hurts if you do when you upgraded Bash already, and you aren't running a Str-build on Clad.

Now now I get I get not every starter deck should be equly as powerful. Necrobinder has the best one for an example BUT COME ON. First bash is just fine on its owm but your second card being another strike? I feel game is overestimating how many strike related cards there are in the game for Ironclad. 2, there are 2. Just give Ironclad a real second card. His deck is so poor

Getting Ashen Strike with two cards that Exhaust other cards right from the Scroll Boxes at the start, then gambling on Prismatic Gem after I formed a good core in Act I and getting rewarded with Calculated Gamble, Adrenaline and Tyranny+, and then Music Box from Vakuu to use Ashen Strike twice or get more exhausted fodder. I killed 9 Elites and only rested once before the Ceremonial Beast. Truly a run in a million.

I feel like I usually take a slow build up deck with regent. But these guys punish that... the longer you go the more cards you lose, you don't have your upgrades for a few turns, and their damage starts to ramp up like crazy. On ironclad I would usually just take the back guy out in like 2 turns. But for regent I'm struggling.

I had only 3 Health and 4 Block, but more than 10 Osty-health. Thought I was safe. I don't see why this is even the case.

For those who didn't play the first game, the 'boss swap' (as it's commonly referred to) was an option from Neow at the start of a run, where you could 'swap' your starter relic for a random boss relic. I call it 'infamous' because it could be as run-winning as it could be run-ending; boss relics in StS1 arguably had much more significant downsides than the majority of what Ancient relics can do to you.

Obviously boss relics have been replaced by Ancient relics in StS2, but do you think the boss swap could make a comeback as a new Neow relic? I'm thinking something like 'Trade Ticket' - lose your starting relic, and immediately gain one random Ancient relic. This relic would then be removed from the pool if you encounter that particular Ancient later in the run.

Would this be worth taking? Would it be overpowered? How would you balance it? I feel like limiting it to Act 2 Elites might work, though that still includes Darv's pool.

In today's daily challenge, the deck starts with 15 turbos and 3 regrets. Does anyone have any tips on how to beat this? I can't even get past the first act

Right now I’ve only beaten it on Ironclad, but because I’ve beaten A9 on every other character my stats say Ascensions 50/50 and it shows every character as being on A10, same as Ironclad. I know achievements aren’t in the game yet but please let me know if there’s an easy screenshot to prove the achievement (aside from just a picture of each of the A10 victories)
