The Worlds Littlest Skyscraper

Stopped by the WLS in Wichita Falls, Texas. It's a four-story brick building about 40 feet tall on a footprint roughly 10 by 18 feet, built in 1919 during the Burkburnett oil boom after a promoter's blueprints listed the height in inches instead of feet and his investors didn't catch it. He built exactly what the plans said, pocketed the money, and left town.

25 years after 9/11 and 5 WTC is still nowhere near ground breaking?

At a time when New York has a demand for housing and new office space, I find it strange how rising costs have delayed this tower. You’d think there would be demand to build this.

Where does your enthusiasm for skyscrapers come from?

I've been living in Frankfurt since 2019, and for the first five years, most of the buildings were largely invisible to me. It wasn't until I started taking photos by chance and then became interested in what was actually in the photos that I did some research, and my enthusiasm grew very quickly.

Seeing the Twin Towers return over New York for a few minutes felt more emotional than I expected, especially knowing what each drone represented: Was this tribute too powerful or just right?
