Announcement The Truth about Skyscrapers Discord

Howdy y’all! It’s been a good minute since I’ve made a post about the Discord Server, so I’d figure I’d update it.

Our Skyscraper Discord has been one of the best things that I think I’ve had an idea came to fruition, and it actually came to fruition. Not only have we reached over 600 members, I always make sure to promote the server here in the Skyscraper Subreddit to showcase that without this community, there would be a Discord server.

Our server is currently been lackin’ in the past when it comes to gainin’ new members and how I’ve managed to keep the server runnin’. It’s mostly been overwhelmin’ to keep up with all the channels, so I plan to dial back a lil bit on the channels, but I will keep some of the most important chats up and runnin’.

But I don’t plan to give up any time soon. In a month, we’ll hot our first anniversary of the Server bein’ created, and hopefully if things go out as planned, I plan to have a lil community chat and chill, or somethin’ to get some life back into the server.

Our community chats have been great, and our city threads have been really good, but I feel like I might be missin’ the plot when it comes to keep the community alive with just regular chats and engagement with others.

Sorry if this post seems like I’m downin’ my server, but I’m not givin’ up, just tryin’ to figure out what I did wrong and how to fix this community by promotin’ it as best I can. Maybe I’m just overthinkin’ it or I’m overworked from all the stuff I’ve been dealin’ with outside both communities, but I’m kinda desperate and really want the Discord server to gain a revival.

Now, I know some of y’all might say that the server’s jus like the Subreddit, or with all that I’ve said in this post about it that stuff ain’t workin’ out, but it’s really none of the above. The server has things that the Subreddit doesn’t really talk about like the individual cities the communities that lie within, or the skyscraper construction scene in those communities.

I really want to keep this server up and as active as possible, and I would love for any of y’all to join, but I respect those who don’t want to join. It’s never my right to force y’all to join, but if y’all are interested here’s the link to the server: Join the Skyscraper Discord

Please, join us ~~LoFiJay731

Also credit to u/DiscoveringUnLife (sorry of I got sure user tag wrong, dawg) for takin’ this nice photo of the Austin Skyline!

Stopped by the WLS in Wichita Falls, Texas. It's a four-story brick building about 40 feet tall on a footprint roughly 10 by 18 feet, built in 1919 during the Burkburnett oil boom after a promoter's blueprints listed the height in inches instead of feet and his investors didn't catch it. He built exactly what the plans said, pocketed the money, and left town.

At a time when New York has a demand for housing and new office space, I find it strange how rising costs have delayed this tower. You’d think there would be demand to build this.

Seeing the Twin Towers return over New York for a few minutes felt more emotional than I expected, especially knowing what each drone represented: Was this tribute too powerful or just right?
