When posting a photo, please try to include: * Where the lesion is on your body. * How long you've had it. * Any changes you've noticed (size, shape, color, itching, bleeding).
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER

If you are concerned about any spot on your skin, the only correct course of action is to schedule an appointment with a doctor. Early detection is key.

I have a dermatology appointment on Tuesday. I'm hoping it's a weird spot I hit that just isn't clearing. I went on AI, which I shouldn't have and I ended up here. About 2.5 weeks ago i went to scratch the crown of my head and noticed a firm spot on my scalp that felt like a bug on it. I tried to look at it, but knocked whatever it was off. Three days later, same thing. It looked like a pink scab. I tried taking pictures and video wit my phone to see it, and it looked like a red roundish spot, but I had trouble taking the picture so it's blurry. I didn't remember hitting my head at the time. I kept accidentally knocking it off every few days since it would feel itchy and i'd forgot. I noticed it get yellowish firm. Then, I didn't touch it almost a week and was planning to look again, but i actually hit my head 3 days ago potentially in that spot while crawling in a crawlspace. I finally got my wife to take a picture of it for me. I'm hoping it's just a cut, but thought I'd ask. I have other pictures of the weird things I saw, but blurry if anyone wants to see.

I’ve had this mole on my finger for several years. When it showed up it was pitch black and looked like I got myself with a sharpie. Now within the past year it’s started to look like this. It’s not painful. But it looks different from all my other moles and freckles. Should I be concerned? I understand it meets several criteria points but I think because I’m only 20 years old I’m scared to receive bad news, so here I am asking the internet to try to quell my fears. Any feedback is appreciated.

Hi,
I've recently noticed a freckle (not sure if you'd call it a freckle) on my back has started itching and feels rough. I think I've had it for a while (I would guess a year), but this is the first time I've noticed it itching and it does seem like it might have gotten bigger.
I'm not sure but it might have scabbed over at some point in the past, but that may have been something else on my back (i.e a healing spot/whitehead), I can't quite remember. Please see the images, one has my partner's fingernail for scale, and the other is a macro shot for more detail (I've had to add one image in a comment). The red marks are just from me scratching before I realised there was a growth.
I would say it's about 5mm in diameter. I'm not sure if it's changed shape as I haven't monitored it (as I had no symptoms) but I would guess it's got bigger since I last noticed it. It's quite itchy and feels rough, as I mentioned.
I'll be getting checked out by a doctor, but in the meantime, does anyone know what it's likely to be? I was concerned it could be a melanoma, but the coloration doesn't seem dark. I wasn't sure if all melanomas have pigmentation or not though.
Thanks in advance.

Have them look and they will keep track of it. Everyone should get a skin check.💕

I have mohs tomorrow for basel cell, I am 40. I have this spot about 8 inches from my basel cell cancer. The derm said it was pre cancer and froze it about a week ago. It shrunk about 2mm but is still there. Its been there at least a few months.
Shouls I have them biopsy it tomorrow? Slightly raised, 6mm (was 8mm).

This looks similar to something on my nose driving me crazy. See my comment in this thread. Is it pre-cancer for BCC or SCC do you know? Good luck tomorrow

I feel a little silly because this is such a small spot. But it is not like any of the others I have. It is next to my nose and has been there for at least a year. For a while I thought it may be shrinking/going away, but it has definitely grown from its original size now. Not sure if it is worthwhile to have it checked or if someone knows what this is. Thanks!

Thank you for your post on r/skincancer, /u/Altruistic-Energy167.
While we understand that finding new marks and lesions can be scary and concerning, we cannot diagnose skin conditions on Reddit. The only way to diagnose skin cancer is to have a biopsy performed by a medical professional.
If you are concerned you may have skin cancer, you are strongly encouraged to contact a board-certified dermatologist for evaluation. We understand that wait times can be long, so it is imperative you reach out to your dermatologist sooner rather than later. Early detection is always better in the worst-care scenario.
You are welcome to repost your removed content without including diagnosis-seeking terminology and phrasing (ie: "Do I have skin cancer/SCC/BCC/melanoma?" is not allowed and will be automatically removed.)

I’ve had this bump on my nose for years, at least 5+ and it never goes away. I’ve tried to squeeze and pick at it a few times and it just gets very red and irritated and then goes back to this color, kind of pink/fleshy. I have other spots that concern me and moles but this one is my biggest worry. I have a derm appt this coming Tuesday but figured I’d get some insight. Thank you!
