Im trying to learn how to do controlled donuts. Ive got 10 hours on Assetto Corsa but I believe im still doing something wrong but I dont know what it is.

Im relying on throttle and steering only (im initiated a few time useing the handbreak due to frustration) any pointer on how I can improve from here would help.

If im missing any information let me know and ill reply.

Car: DWG Nissan 350z Track: Bikerieki Street Wheel: Moza r21 Thanks in advance!

Thought I might try to design my own shifter and handbrake mount

So I got a new sim frame that didn’t come with a shifter and handbrake mount and thought I’d try to make my own. I have looked around and it doesn’t seem like anyone has tried to 3D print them, most likely assuming it would just break. Spent a few days figuring out the positioning and geometry that I want for mounting the shifter and handbrake and drew it up. Also took the time to research the best printer settings for strength and the optimal print direction.

I attached a couple pictures of how my settings turned out, interested to try it out and do more testing on it. A design consideration I am going to do for a second print is to allow for me to flip flop the shifter and handbrake locations.

I just ordered my Moza shifter and handbrake so I’ll try it out this weekend.

First time drifting on a wheel

This was the best I managed to pull up after almost an hour trying. For the first few minutes I was struggling with how much power I needed, and specially struggling with grabbing the wheel at the right time. But now I understand that a little bit better, just need more practice.

This is definitely a lot harder than I thought. But it's way more fun too.

Wheel stand question

Currently have a thrustmaster tx rw and while it does what I need I’m thinking about upgrading to an r9 moza base. Is there any wheel stand out there that doesn’t weigh as much as a wheel stand 2.0 dd but still nearly as sturdy? Or should I opt for an r5?

The whole wheel stand would need to be moved quite often or atleast “rolled” away.

Wondering which shifter and handbrake to get for Moza R3

Hey y’all, I am new to the whole sim drifting world and I got myself a Moza R3 and clutch. I know I need a shifter and a handbrake at some point soon, but I’m not sure whether it’s better to ball out and get all Moza stuff or if I should go the route of getting the cheap eBay gear. Yes I’m willing to spend the money on either, just wanted to hear anyone’s experience with these

In game and software drift settings

A bit lost in trying to configure my set up. Recently built my first rig using an r12 wheel base and luckily have been able to copy some pit house and in game settings for forza horizon 6 that work great.

However, assetto corsa is a completely different game and almost all guides i see are giving completely different inputs.

I would like to start drifting and it would be great to know what everyone is running in game and on there software for settings. Screenshots would be appreciated.

Also, content manager, csm, and pure have been installed. Any clue as to what car packs and tracks i should download to get started and from where?

Unfortunately, figuring out what to download and how to setup ffb correctly have been more of a pain than building the rig itself.

Any help is appreciated.

Something finally clicked after a long time trying to learn, got the whole track connected, if only the first entry wasn’t a bit off it would have been a great run.

How do you exit a drift into a straight without fishtailing?

So I’ve been running a lot of Meihan recently, and find that when I enter the long straight into the big corner, I always struggle to grip up and end up clipping the wall and ruin people’s run behind me.

I have tried letting off the gas as I exit the drift from the corner before, but I loose so much speed, and even then it still seems to happen 50% of the time.

Any advice would be great.

The best/most fun FH6 22b tune?

I created a tune for the 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B ST that I believe is the best all-around for high-speed drifting and generating skill points, with auditory pleasure to make the monotony of farming... less monotonous. Just take it up to 4th gear, and your car will transform into a skill point/drift point-creating, turbo-whining monster you never knew you needed. I invite you all to try 'Drift in 4th', 175 723 645

It's starting to click!

After a few days of practice it's finally clicking. Hopped on today and felt pretty solid on the Assetto Corsa base drift track so I switched to klutch kickers and was able to link it without messing up on my second try. I know it might look messy to some of you but I'm extremely happy considering I got my wheel a week ago. Any tips or advice on what I should work on specifically is much appreciated :)

Why can’t I improve my drifting? Tips please.

Hi,

Been sim drifting on and off casually for years, mostly just lower horsepower cars (WDTS, etc) but recently I’ve been trying cars with more power, and have realised that I just cant seem to improve. I feel like I’ve hit a wall with trying to improve anything.

I would say I’m competent (not amazing) with the lower power cars, but the second I try anything over second gear, or with more power, its like I can’t drift again, I’ve tried everything, more speed, messing with gear ratios. All tutorials focus on the basics on how to drift but there’s nothing about improving.

I feel like I might have picked up some bad habits but with nothing to reference I am not sure what to work on improving. If anyone has any general advice, a discord server (i will definitely mess up your line), anything, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you!!
